OBITUARY OF WILLIAM SMITH

William Henry Smith, the eldest son of William Hildry & Bobbetta Smith was born Sept. 5, 1959 in Evansville. His father preceded him in death in 1997. William departed this life on August 1, 2019.

Services will be Thursday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m at R. Masons Brothers Memorial Chapel, Evansville, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Obituary for Larry F Moss

Larry F. Moss, 73, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born March 29, 1946 in Evansville to the late Emma (Arnold) and George F. Moss.
Larry graduated from Central High School. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received the Combat Infantry Badge. After returning home, he worked at Krieger Ragsdale as a printing press operator for 42 years. Larry was a devoted husband and family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and attending all of their activities.
Larry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy (Patrick) Moss; children, John Moss, Jeffery Moss, Larry Moss, II and Christopher (Joanna) Moss; grandchildren, Tyler, Christian, Kaleb and Courtney Moss; great grandchild, Carson; sister, Beverly (Johnny) Goins; brother, Danny (Rita) Moss; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Keister and his brothers, David and Stevie Moss.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Friday, September 13, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 First Ave., Evansville. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Reverend Billy Thompson officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.

Obituary for Mary (Stallings) McCormick

Mary (Stallings) McCormick, 87, of Evansville passed away peacefully Monday, September 9, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 20, 1931 in Gary, IN to the late Lincoln and Mary (Fettig) John.

Mary graduated from St. Elizabeth Nursing School in Lafayette, IN. After graduation, she worked in surgery at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and presently is a member of St. Benedict Cathedral. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary, the Evansville Country Club for over 60 years where she was an avid golfer and President of the women’s 18 holers. Mary enjoyed tennis, bridge, gardening, was a member of the Historic Lincolnshire Garden Club, and a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House.

Mary is survived by her husband of 35 years, Russ McCormick; sons, J. Gregg Stallings (John Broomfield) of Sharon, CT and Todd (Susan) Stallings of Silver Spring, MD; daughters, Amy (Dan) Glover, Zionsville, IN, Darcy (Mike) Winslow, Portland, OR. Lesly (Pete) Wagner, Guilford, CT, and Betsy Stallings McAtee, Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Bryan Young, Ben Glover, Rachel, David and Grace Wagner, Ethan, Carson, and Chase Stallings, Claire, Jeffrey and Andrew McAtee; great grandchildren, Cody and Levi Young; sister, Becky Tyner and brother, Edward John, both of Elwood, IN; and Russ’s son, Michael McCormick of Speedway, IN.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded by her first husband, Dr. Hugh Stallings and son, Jeff Stallings.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, September 13, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, 47714. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am to 10:00 am Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville, 47714. A mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am at the church with Father Stephen Lintzenich officiating. Inurnment at St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Obituary for Dorothy Ann Henderson

Dorothy Ann (Williamson) Henderson, 79, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019, at her home. She was born May 18, 1940 in East Prairie, MO, to the late Tonnie and Myrtle (Ball) Williamson.

Dorothy graduated from Rockport High School and retired from the Hostess Thrift Store. She was active and enjoyed going to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, but most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, April Henderson and Charlene A. (Greg) Hanville and; grandchildren, Chelsea (John) Voyles and Chloe (Warrick) Robinson; great grandchildren, Lillie Wiley and Scarlett Robinson; sisters, Margie Hoover, Linda Schneider and Lorene (Bill) Miller; brother, Ronnie (Jane) Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy L. “Smokey” Henderson.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, 47714. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home with Jeff Dunbar officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, 1400 E. Virginia St., Evansville, 47711.

Deborah Sparks, 68, passed away at her home in Corydon, KY on
September 6, 2019. She was born January 22, 1951 to the late Charles R. and Opel E. (Price) Todd in Evansville, IN.

Deborah worked as an inspector supervisor at Cook Label Company for 18 years and then at Precision Printing for an additional 18 years.

Deborah is survived by her husband, Roger Sparks; daughters, Dawn (Keith) Bourquin of Tacoma, WA and Dana (Randy) Black of Clarksville, TN; 4 grandchildren; and a sister, Sandy Green of Evansville.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday September 9, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville 47714. Burial will be at Willis Cemetery, Petersburg, IN.

Obituary For Marjorie Smith

Marjorie Waller Smith, 92, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019. A lifelong resident of Evansville, she was born on February 15, 1927, to Richard and Dorothy Waller.
Marjorie attended Stanley Hall Elementary School and Bosse High School and was a 1948 graduate of Vanderbilt University. She served as president of the Junior League of Evansville and of the Evansville Museum Guild. She served as a board of trustees’ member of several other community organizations and was a lifetime member of Trinity Methodist Church.
Marjorie is survived by her son William Smith and his wife Lori of Newburgh; daughter Dorothy Shoemaker and her husband Steve of Newburgh; daughter Gretchen Merrick and her husband Daniel of Morgan Hill, California; grandchildren William Smith and his wife Alex, Andrew Smith, Gretchen Smith, Marjorie Little and her husband Thom, Anne McKim and her husband Mike, Emma Merrick, and Ford Merrick and his wife Laure. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Lily and Rory McKim, Helen and Philip Little, and Liam Smith. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband William H. Smith in 2002.
A memorial service will take place at Trinity United Methodist Church, 216 SE 3rd St., Evansville, 47713, Saturday, September 28th at 10:30 a.m., followed by a private burial. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
