1) Record Infrastructure Investment in the Crossroads of America // Governor Mike Pence invested record funding in infrastructure to meet the needs of Indiana’s growing economy. Over the last four years, Indiana committed more than $2.5 billion in new funding for roads and bridges – without raising taxes – and secured the first ongoing, new investments for local infrastructure projects in more than a decade.

 

 

2) Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0 Delivers Consumer-Driven Health Care for Hundreds of Thousands // Governor Mike Pence championed Indiana’s signature Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) 2.0, the nation’s first consumer-driven health care program for Medicaid-eligible or low-income individuals. The plan was codified into law in 2016, ensuring more than 370,000 Hoosiers have access to affordable and quality health care in a program based on personal responsibility and empowering people to take ownership of their health care choices.

 

 

3) Fiscal Integrity, Expanding Educational Opportunity // Governor Pence worked with the Indiana General Assembly to craft an honestly balanced budget that maintained strong reserves for the state and continues to generate a surplus. This fiscal discipline helped Indiana maintain its AAA credit rating and earn a global reputation as a great place to do business. During his tenure, Governor Pence also expanded school choice, increased educational opportunity for families by signing into law the first state funding for pre-K education in Indiana, and addressed Indiana’s skills gap by making career and technical education a priority in every high school.

 

 

4) Building a State That Works // Because of the hard work of Hoosiers across our state, over the last four years Indiana secured commitments from companies that represent more than $15 billion in capital investment throughout the Hoosier state and more than 90,000 new jobs in the coming years. Indiana set a new record for private sector employment, the state’s economy has added more than 165,000 new private sector jobs, and since Governor Pence took office our state’s unemployment rate has been cut in half. Indiana’s labor force participation rate has also outpaced the national average for more than two years running.

 

 

5) Combatting Addiction, Mental Health // Governor Mike Pence created the Governor’s Task Force on Drug Enforcement, Treatment, and Prevention to combat the scourge of drug addiction in Indiana and, based on their recommendations, supported and signed legislationto come alongside Hoosiers struggling with addiction. During his tenure as Governor, Pence unveiled plans for a new state-of-the-art mental health hospital, called the Neuro-Diagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center, to improve the way mental health issues are treated in Indiana.

 

 

 

6) Supporting Hoosier Veterans // A strong supporter of the military, Governor Mike Pence made a priority of reducing veteran unemployment, and Indiana more than doubled funding for the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs during his tenure as governor.
