Here is a quick little instructional youtube video about what motivates people in work situations. It is interesting in the fact that it states that repetitive tasks that are paid by the piece are good motivators but with jobs that require cognitive thought carrot and stick bonus plans degrade results.
As my advisor in college once told me “only one animal is really stimulated to perform by a carrot tied to a stick”. That animal is sometimes know as Jack!
Is this the refutation of why the Vectren rates are multiples of Henderson – scientifically researched, motivation to earn more? HA!
That has nothing whatsoever to do with Vectren. The Vectren rates were researched and factual. Hopefully people that were not aware are now. This is just a video that we thought was cool. It only matters where knowledge workers are expected to create. I see your point though with the only animal “jackass” that really responds to “do a trick, get a carrot” motivational methods.
