The rumor that has been circulating around Evansville today that the Indiana Democrat Party was pulling its support from the Davis for Mayor campaign is not true. Ben Ray, the Public Relations Director for the Indiana Democratic party stated to the City County Observer that “the Party just made another in-kind donation today of roughly $12,000 and are in the Evansville race to the end”. Ray went on to say that “the State Party plans on being in Evansville for a good long time”.
The CCO has confirmed that the Davis Campaign has filed a supplemental finance report showing State Democrat Party support in the amount of nearly $26,000 over the last couple of days. We will post the official document as soon as we receive it.
“The State Party plans on being in Evansville for a good long time…”
Well of course they will be! It’s going to take a VERY LONG TIME to get Owen and crew to move out. I bet they haven’t even started packing. Just think how many U-Hauls will be needed just to pack their egos!
On Wednesday, November 9th, Evansville will experience a new world in politics. It will be a world controlled NOT by thuggery and thieves, but of honest, hard-working REAL DEMOCRATS who simply worked their fingers to the bone to get the best candidate elected.
Hang on, Evansville, help is on the way. FINALLY.
Rick, you fought one hell of a fight, and you and your team deserve our thanks.
we could just close the downtown office and move it to Franklin St
This city has lost out on a great opportunity to move forward and become progressive and more modern not just by building buildings that companies are rewarded for doing. However, business will not hire permanent workers to fill these buildings. This city is a disappointment and will only reminds us that the more things change the more they stay the same here in this area of the country. Lets continue to keep evansville, indiana ultra conservative and by all means let all republicans give up their medicare and food stamps and any low cost of living and be the first to sign up to fight in any war initiated by their own.
Mr. Davis you would have been a breath of fresh air.
HA HA! I like that. “A good long time,” indeed.

“A good long time” means its time for the disloyal rouge Vanderburgh County Democratic leadership to resign while they still can. Chairman Owen of BOTH the Committee to Relect Weinzapfel and the County Democratic party, paid operative Justin Jarvis, Vice-Chair Robinson, Louise Williams, Missy Mosby, David Mosby and their insider lackeys and even the Gang of 23 need to re-read and fully understand what the State Democratic party plans on doing in Evansville:
http://www.indems.org/index.php/news/entry/state_democratic_central_committee_removes_henry_county_chair/
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party State Central Committee met today and unanimously voted to remove Henry County Chair Steve Clark from his position as a result of failed leadership that included multiple violations of party rules.
Clark was barred from holding any party office sanctioned by the Indiana Democratic Party for a term of five years. The Henry County Vice Chair will assume the Chair’s responsibilities until the party reorganization meeting on March 7.
Clark was removed from office following a formal investigation into allegations that he allowed Democratic party officials to openly support the Republican mayoral candidate in New Castle in 2007, leading to the election of the first Republican mayor there in 56 years.
A Jan. 19 report summarizing the investigation found that “[t]he Hearing Officer came away from the hearing with the clear but sad conviction that the Henry County Party is in disarray. Individuals on both sides of the controversy are good and sincere people, but the hostility between factions in the County Party is extensive and alarming.”
Party rules allow for the removal of a party officer for neglect of duty; willful violation of the party rules; conviction of a felony; disloyalty to the party; or any other course of conduct that does not promote the best interests of the party or creates dissension within the party.
“This is never a step we like to take, but the rules are in place to make sure the party can achieve its goal of electing Democrats,” said Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker. “When a party officer permits other party officials to work for a Republican candidate, we can’t turn a blind eye.”
Parker said Clark’s removal will bring new leadership to Henry County Democrats.
“It’s time to turn the page on this chapter and get back to working hard to elect Democrats in Henry County,” he said.
If Davis wins, they’ll all be gone within 60 days of him taking office.
Do you have any idea how much dirt the state party has on these people? Enough to send some of them to the pokey for a very long time.
If Winnecke wins, so does the Machine. They’ll rout the Davis supporters and consolidate power. And Evansville will stay the same.
VonK, that’s exactly the high stakes game of chicken the disloyal Democratic leadership gambled for when they unified and 23 signed the “we are family” resolution for Connie Robinson claiming that her matter was local only:
http://media.courierpress.com/media/static/Robinson.pdf
http://media.courierpress.com/media/static/signatures_3.pdf
They gambled their Gang of 23 unity and their Mayor and defacto leader with his $750,000 campaign war chest, could hold off the State Democratic party from their removal and ban from Democratic office. If so, these same insiders could rebuild their power by excising Mr. Davis and his supports and then put their own puppet Candidate in office after the 1 Republican term. Looks like they all gambled wrong! The State Democratic party is coming to town for a good long time no matter what.
60 days? How about November 9th????????
Ben Ray ? Aren’t those the two guys doing the “corn field skiing” on the tire commercial ?
Another FAILED attempt by the machine to cheat the voters of their right to elect their own candidate.
Stay strong my CCO friends. I am sure they are already plotting their next move. And by move, I do not mean to another town. They have too much to lose. They will be at this until 6:00pm on Tuesday. Please get your friends and family out to vote. Winnecke has Louise Willimas out conducting abesntee balloting and she has been invovled with shadiness in the past. We do not want this to come down to the “votes” she got to keep our hopes of open/ honest government from happening.
If Dan Parker does not want his party to be the laughing stock of Indiana and the whole Country he will deal with these current miscreants in charge of the Vanderburgh County Democratic Party.
Filing false financial statements, endorsing republican candidates, not paying the party’s just debts.
Too much fodder there for current and future republicans to use in this and future campaigns. And it gets better by the day!

Press:
The problem is that these current Repubs are such damned cowards, they will never USE the fodder.
Remember, Winnecke is the “Collaborator.”
Another problem is the Courier & Press! Even with the traffic the CCO has, there are a lot of people without Internet or the knowledge of the CCO, the TRUE news. Muckrakers, that’s the CCO!
PressAK, the State Democratic party is all over this. They first asked the local “leadership” nicely starting at the top to support all their Democratic candidates. Local party leaders must have thought Demo HQ+Civic Center really was “little Chicago” (or Roadhouse before Dalton)and dared the State party with the “we are family” and “best friends forever” resolution for Vice-Chair Robinson that only the Central Committee takes care of their own. The fact the State Democratic party is now financially trying to undo the sabotage from the disloyal democratic splinter regime leadership of the Central Committee, tells whats a coming. It’s always a great teaching lesson watching arrogance and self entitlement defeated by the popular will of the folks they are supposed to represent, whether Unions, Democrats or Governments.

This was just so good that it had to be repeated.
RD, it does need to be pointed out not ALL of the Central Committee members support its leadership. Im a Ward 2 Committeeman and I PROUDLY support Rick!!!
So glad to hear that!

RE: Rick Davis for Mayor
Dear Sirs:
In May, democracy worked in Evansville. Evansville Democrats selected Rick Davis as our party’s candidate for mayor, Alberta Matlock as our party’s candidate for city clerk, and Dan Adams, Conor O’Daniel, Jonathan Weaver, Missy Mosby, Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley, Connie Robinson, John Friend and Al Lindsey as our party’s candidates for city council. I trust our public election process. I trust and believe that Evansville Democrats selected the very best representatives of our party to go forward and serve the citizens of Evansville. Also, all of Southwestern Indiana depends upon and enjoys all that Evansville has to offer. These fine citizens have offered themselves up for one of America’s highest callings–public service. I am proud to support the Democrat Team for Evansville’s future.
Let me state, before your bloggers can declare, I do not live in Evansville. I am from Warrick County. I do however, represent the Democratic Party as the 8th Congressional District Democratic Party Chair. Evansville is a valued part of the 8th District.
Rick Davis and the entire Democratic Party’s slate of candidates for next Tuesday’s election are proven, capable and experienced candidates. I encourage citizens of Evansville and particularly all Evansville Democrats to go to the polls and vote for Rick Davis for mayor, Alberta Matlock for city clerk, and Dan Adams, Conor O’Daniel, Jonathan Weaver, Missy Mosby, Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley, Connie Robinson, John Friend and Al Lindsey for city council.
Respectfully,
Anthony Long
Chair, 8th District
Democratic Party
Indeed I did.
Bravo, Mr. Long. Great that he can stand up and do what the machine thugs cannot.
Thanks.
Mr. Long is a class-act. True progressive! He “speaks softly and carries a big stick!!” (paraphrased)
When this is all over we could capitalize on it by having seminars for university’s poli-sci classes.
Missy Mosbey is a crony of the machine ans should be voted out!!! Vote for Lon! Please save the 2nd.

They have not seen anything like the “disarray” the Vanderburgh County Democratic Party is currently in!
