INTERESTING CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN ADAMS AND MOSBY ABOUT SPEED BUMPS

19
Dr. Dan Adams

Gee, Missy,

I was being polite to you thinking you would appreciate a heads up so STOP chewing my butt as my day is long enough with Tina’s MOM dying yesterday! Talk with your uncle Donnie and  Brent Schmidt.the actual people who live and are effected by this every day there.

It is my understanding that this project has been reviewed and passed by the Safety Board, so the City Garage who has plowed Weaver hill on the north side without a problem, as was predicted by Portland ME’s snow plow king, should be aware of it.  Police details have been shown to NEVER work in these problems.  Actually, the only people involved in this type of evaluation (by law) are those who live within 150 yards of the site.  I am not aware that NAs who don’t live there have a say.  The people who DO live there are VERY worried every day because of the deep close culvert.  I would think you a would very much in favor of this move,  as it will slow people down at a very dangerous road section in your Ward. I am just trying to do my job as these problems come up and notified you when I found out about it last night, as is my policy.  So go verbally attack someone else, ’cause I have beaucoup other stuff to do today.

Dan Adams

At-Large City Council member

Good morning!

Since this is my Ward, and no one has talked with me about this speed hump, I would like more information before you proceed with this installation. Has anyone talked with the City garage about this for they use Fickas a lot during the snow for one of the salt stations is there? Who are the residents that are asking for this speed hump for I regularly attend the Fickas and several other neighborhood associations in my Ward and this has never been brought up? Also, I regularly drive Fickas and have not seen any wrecks are issues on this road. We have had some police details on Fickas and, to my knowledge, they really didn’t catch many speeders. Before anything is done, I would ask that these questions be answered and let me talk with my constituents & the city garage for this is the first I am hearing of this and I am out and about in my Second Ward more than anyone.

Thank you.

IS IT TRUE October 16, 2015

IS IT TRUE  yesterday we were sent an interesting link by one of our feminist readers? …she ask us to share this link with you concerning the status of women in politics?   …she also questioned why Evansville Indiana has never elected a female Mayor in our 200 years of existence?  …we look forward to your responses to the attached link and answering her question about why Evansville never elected a female Mayor?  …it looks like you shall have  fun blogging on this subject?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-politics/11926344/more-women-elle-feminism-politics.html

IS IT TRUE  yesterday we presented George Fithian, Executive Director Administrative Services, with a simple public record request concerning benefits that our city employees receive?  …we ask Mr. Fithian to provide us with the City of Evansville Employee Handbook so we could get answers on how much city employees receive each year in sick leave, time,  vacation time,  personal days off,  healthcare benefit package, details on pension/retirement program and other benefits paid to part time and full time city employee?  …Mr. Fithian pulled one of his typical political moves by delaying our simple request to obtain a copy of the 2015 Employee Handbook? … he told us he has to research to see if he has the information that we requested on our FOIR form?  …we wonder why Mr. Fithian has to take time to research to see if he has a current Employee Handbook to provide the City County Observer?  …could the reason why he didn’t provide us with this simple request is that he doesn’t want the taxpayers to know that city is providing employees with an impressive benefits package because it could have a negative impact on the upcoming budget talks?  … this is the type of political games that cause taxpayers to lose faith and trust in public servants?

IS IT TRUE Pressanykey posted yesterday on the CCO that new property assessments hit the mail boxes today?  …the assessment of  his  “structure” (house) went up 6.146%?  …he made no improvements since the last assessment other than replacing the shingles on the roof due to wear.?  …to the fact that the Vanderburgh County Assessor’s Office has raised the assessment on so many properties,  he sees nothing wrong with “the city property tax levy being frozen at the 2015 level”.? … The city will still receive a substantial INCREASE in property tax revenue without raising the levy!  …he feels this information could be extremely important in the upcoming City of Evansville budget talks?

IS IT TRUE yesterday that the highly respected  Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Nicholas Hermann told the newly created Indiana Drug Task Force  to suggest to the State law makers that they pass a law making pseudo ephedrine  a prescription-only drug?  …we totally agree with Mr. Hermann’s recommendation and encourage him to continue the hard work because he is spot on?

.IS IT TRUE we had the extreme pleasure of personally meeting Dr. Richard Moss a highly respected Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon from Jasper, Ind. at his home yesterday?  …Dr. Moss shall be announcing this weekend that he  going to be a candidate for the 8th District Congressional seat in the Republican primary?  …we found Dr. Moss and his family  to be extremely personable and intellectually  engaging?  …we  quickly found out that Dr. Moss campaign shall be based on strong conservative values?  …he stands for strong National Defense,  Pro-Israel,  free market Health care reform,  he’s supports the Pro-2nd Amendment,   he supports Pro -Life,  he is for Pro-Family and Traditional Values,  he for Pro-American Immigration Reform-Not Amnesty,  wants Limited and streamline Government by cutting the budget by reducing excess spending,  he also wants to reduce unneeded Federal Regulations and feels America has the ability to become Energy Independent, again ? …we predict that the voters of fighting 8th will enjoy meeting the Conservative Author, Columnist and past Radio Talk Show host on the campaign trail?

The City-County Observer is excited to announce that our annual CCO “OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD” luncheon for 2015.will be held on October 26, 2015 at Tropicana-Evansville Walnut rooms A and B.? …this years winners of the “Outstanding Community Services Awards” are: Vanderburgh County Commissioner Joe Kifer, well respected local attorney Joe Harrison, Jr, Indiana State Auditor Suzanne Crouch and former Vanderburgh County Sheriff and 8th District Congressmen Brad Ellsworth, Dr. Dan Adams, Dr Steven Becker MD, Tracy Zeller-President of Tracy Zeller Jewelry Holly Dunn-National Motivation Speaker on Domestic Violence, Cheryl Musgrave who currently sits on the Vanderburgh County Board of Zoning Appeals and also is a Commissioner on the Evansville Redevelopment Commission and Betty Hermann?

Registration begins at 11:30 am, the event officially starts at 12 noon on October 26, 2015?  Deadline for registration is October 23, 2015? The last five (5) events were sellouts. Reservations for this event may be made by calling Mollie Darke Schreiber at 812-760-4233 of via email at mdarke07@yahoo.com.

UE Volleyball on the road at Illinois St. and Indiana St.

0

A road weekend of Missouri Valley Conference action awaits the Purple Aces volleyball team as they travel to Illinois State on Friday evening before heading to Terre Haute to face Indiana State on Saturday.

Evansville hit an accurate .248 in its 3-1 loss to Southern Illinois on Saturday.  Led by Genesis Miranda’s final tally of .381, the Aces were extremely efficient in the loss.  It was the highest percentage the Aces hit in a 4-set loss since Sept. 3, 2011, when UE hit .270 in a 3-1 loss to Valparaiso.

In two of the last five conference matches, Genesis Miranda has notched efforts of 20+ kills, her first two times doing so against MVC foes.  She is beginning to show great maturity over the last few weeks and it has resulted in UE being more competitive against strong competition.  In her first 19 MVC matches, Miranda hit .134, but since then, the last five matches have seen her hit .211 with 4.11 kills per set.

Led by Stephanie Cerino’s six block assists against the Salukis, Evansville finished with a total of 9 team blocks.  UE was credited with 16 block assists in the match, marking the 10th time the team has notched between 10 and 20 block assists.  In those 10 matches, UE is 3-7.

The Redbirds enter Friday’s tilt with a mark of 13-6 and 3-3 in conference play.  That have performed exceptionally well on their home floor, winning all five matches and are also a stellar 5-1 in neutral matchups.  After starting MVC play with losses at Missouri State and Wichita State, Illinois State has won three out of four, including a 3-0 triumph over Bradley last time out.  Senior Ashley Rosch is third in the Valley with 3.75 kills per match while their defensive star has been Courtney Pence, who is second in the league with 4.91 digs/set, behind only Kim Deprez.

Indiana State goes into the weekend with a mark of 13-8 and 2-4 in the league.  The Sycamores opened MVC action with losses in their first two matches on the road at MSU and WSU.  Since then, they have gone 2-2 with victories over UNI and Bradley.  ISU has a strong 1-2 punch when it comes to serving as Carly Wishlow and Bree Spangler are third and fourth in the MVC in that department.

IceMen Finalize Roster for Home Opener Saturday

The Evansville IceMen, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators and AHL’s Binghamton Senators, and Head Coach Al Sims announced the final 23-man roster ahead of the team’s season-opening game Saturday at 7:15pm against the Indy Fuel at the Ford Center.

The IceMen acquired defenseman Samuel Noreau and goaltender Keegan Asmundson in separate trades, and were assigned goaltenderScott Greenham from Binghamton.

Evansville also released forward Stephen Pierog, defenseman Donnie Harris and goaltender Branden Komm, and placed forward Jordan Sims on injured-reserve.

Noreau, 22, was acquired by Evansville in a trade with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and that team’s affiliates, the New York Rangers (NHL) and Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL). Noreau was a fifth round draft pick of the Rangers in 2011 and has played nine AHL games for Hartford over the last two seasons. The native of Montreal, QC participated in the Rangers’ rookie camp the last two years, but spent most of both seasons in Greenville. Asmundson, 25, joins the IceMen after he was acquired in a trade with the Orlando Solar Bears. The Inver Grove Heights, MN native signed his first pro contract with the South Carolina Stingrays in March 2015 after his senior season ended at Canisius College. His first ECHL victory was a 21-save 4-0 shutout March 29 against Evansville at the Ford Center. He posted a 2-1 record for the Stingrays, with a 1.67 goals-against average and a 92.5% save percentage. The 6’5, 235 lbs. goalie won the Atlantic Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Year as a senior at Canisius, where he had a 13-8-4 record, a 1.97 goals-against average (GAA), and 93% save percentage. He played his one season of junior hockey for the NAHL’s Austin Bruins in 2010-11.

Greenham, 28, returns to Evansville where he played eight games for the IceMen in January 2015 between two stints with the Binghamton Senators. The goalie from Ottawa, ON carried a 1-4-2 record for the IceMen in 2014-15 with a 3.50 GAA and 90.3% save percentage. In 29 games for the BSens, Greenham was 15-11-2 with a 2.77 GAA and a save percentage of 91.6%.
