Obama Delays Employer Mandate for Some Until 2016

25

In advance of the 2014 congressional elections President Obama has kicked another can down the road so as not to have to deal with cancellations during an election year that may see Republicans take over both houses of congress if the history of 2013 repeats itself.

A batch of employers won’t face a fine next year if they fail to provide health insurance to their workers, the Obama administration said Monday.

In regulations outlining the Affordable Care Act, the Treasury Department said employers with between 50 and 99 full-time workers won’t have to comply with the law’s requirement to provide insurance or pay a fee until 2016.

Companies with 100 workers or more could avoid penalties in 2015 if they showed they were offering coverage to at least 70% of their full-time workers, the Treasury said.

The move is a new, significant revision of the law after a series of delays and a troubled rollout. Originally, employers with the equivalent of 50 full-time workers or more had to offer coverage or pay a penalty starting at $2,000 per worker beginning in 2014.

  1. barry the manchurian president in order to continue the destruction of America needs to keep power for him and his commie minions……that is the reason for barry to illigally continue to change the obamacare law…………a real president would scrap this whole disgrace………..

  2. Red Queen Pelosi then: We need to pass it in order to find out what’s in it.

Red Queen Pelosi today: We need to violate it in order to implement it.

What an admission of a mega-fail by No-Hopey Obama! If they had a single shred of integrity, our empty-suited emperor and Vice-Plagiarizer Plugs Biden would resign their offices tonight.

  3. Is it true that the Missouri legislature for the second time in two years refused to accept the ACA’s expansion of Medicaid? Is it true that this will effectively deny 300,000 citizens of Missouri access to healthcare?

Is it true that this vote was strictly party line with the party of Right to Life voting to deny 300,00 Missourians access to health care?

Is it true that the US now ranks 29th in the world in infant mortality near the likes of Poland and below that of Cuba? Is it true that these health care costs will not go away by ignoring them and that these Missourians will have much poorer health care outcomes and that instead of the federal government picking up the cost, the state and the hospitals will now have to absorb them resulting in hospitals shutting down in a vicious cycle of bad policy decisions and poor outcomes of health, and most likely death?.

Is it true that the Missouri legislators refused to listen to the Democratic governor, the testimony of physicians and health care consultants regarding this issue?

Is it true that we in the liberal nation think this story is 1,000 times more important than Americans supplying fewer labor hours because of the ACA but the denial of Medicaid expansion is receiving very little coverage in the media?

Is it true that no will die from Americans supplying fewer hours but people will most likely die from lack of health coverage?

Is it true that Indiana has also has refused Medicaid expansion? Is It true that Indiana has one of the highest percentages of residents lacking health insurance in the country?

Is it true that it is very likely many in the business community asked for this delay in the penalty? Is it true that the another chorus of cries from the conservative community will break out accusing the President Obama of being an incompetent, lawless, dictator for changing a regulation that he has every right and power to do and for giving conservatives’ business allies exactly what they asked for?

    • Egads editor! You just had to hint at giving Brians an IIT.

IIT that 300,000 who could not afford heath insurance before the ACA cannot afford it after the ACA and millions more are paying more or can no longer afford the plan they were promised they could keep.

IIT that 300,000 have not been denied healthcare, it is illegal to do so, but 300,000 innocent unborn children are killed every 2 1/2 months in the name of choice?

IIT that the USA being 29th in infant mortality has more to do with how other nations count infant mortality and that our healthcare system is(was)the world has every known and most medical advancements comes from the USA?

IIT that as states have expanded Medicaid that people forced into it by the ACA are discovering they may have to forfeit their assets?

IIT that businesses must now make hiring and expansion decisions based on potential liabilities due to the ACA and many are deciding to reduce their work forces rather than expand?

IIT that the executive branch can not change or refuse to enforce legislation by executive order?

      • Brains is a good guy. He is using this platform to get his thoughts out just as you and I are.

        • I should have put a 🙂 at the end of my egads comment. But I think the same of him as he does me. 🙁

  4. Is it true that the same liberal mom’s basement dwellers who told us that Obamacare was perfect will now do anything to change the subject and divert attention from the miserable failure of their god-emperor?

    • Eh , Obama care sure isn’t perfect. You don’t like the idea of paying for other people’s healthcare, but that reality is you do anyway. Why not try to make it cheaper by treating things sooner? The only way to make your system work is to let people die on the steps of the ER. Please man up and admit that’s what you want to happen.

      • Is it true that there is no aethiest in a foxhole? President Obama “Please God don’t let me lose the Senate too…..”

      • Ever the fool. No one dies on the steps of the ER. The right doesn’t want little kids and the elderly to die. Nothing like taking an exaggeration and then beating it like a dead horse by regurgitating it where ever you can. Some day you will grow up and join the real world and not the sugar coated dream state you reside in.

  5. Exactly. The fetus worshippers would gleefully turn their backs on people without insurance and let them die. Don’t tell me that isn’t true or its a strawmen either because that is exactly what they have done for decades and are still doing today. They blame it on personal responsibility but they don’t get that it could just as easily be THEM. It’s barbaric and cruel, right out of Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery”

Like Lee retreating from Petersburg these jackasses like Boehner, McConnell, Cantor, Cruz etc would rather burn the country to the ground rather than give Obama any poltical or economic win.

Just look at what they’re doing in the courts which have reached an unprecedented back log of cases and unfilled vacancies. These douchebags have even said publicly and out in the open that they don’t care who Obama nominates that they will oppose them. That isn’t advice and consent that is unmitigated gall and treachery Does this make the news!!???
    Heeeellll NO.

Just wait though this delay in the mandate will be all over the evening news and cable shows.

Obama just sits there and takes it. Well Harry has had it. He is getting ready to go nuclear on the whole filibuster, the whole smash. Efff it the TPer’s aren’t going to take back the Senate their regressive policies are just too much even for states like IN.

Just wait until 2016 and Hillary wins and GA and TX go blue or nearly blue and all heck breaks lose.

      • Had a kid who had to go a mile outside of his base every 3 days with a couple of his buddies to check for bombs in abandoned vehicles in the war you voted for.

Do you believe a fetus can fill the fear he did?

        • Not sure how the two are related, but studies have shown that the unborn do feel the pain of abortion.

“Cross remained composed as she testified of observing breathing babies on more than 10 occassions. Once, she heard a wimpering cry. Ashley Baldwin, the 15-year old high school student that also helped out with the procedures, was working in the big abortion room where the crying sound originated, and sought out Cross’ help. When Cross saw the baby, she simply left the room.”

          http://www.lifenews.com/2013/04/19/gosnell-worker-baby-surviving-abortion-swam-in-toilet-trying-to-live/

But then, I’m just an fetus worshiper and sociopath according to good guy Brains.

      • What a pitiful display of ignorance that liberals are still apparently tossing around the debunked “Harvard Study” that claimed 44,789 deaths annually were the result of having no health insurance. The claim was based on a single interview with individuals years before who claimed to have no health insurance. No effort was made at the time of the initial interview to verify this. The authors of the later report made zero effort to track any individuals in order to determine whether they had obtained any insurance, private or government, after the initial interview, what the actual causes of death were, and what, if any, morbidities were involved.

  6. Is It True 40,000 plus people die prematurely in this country because of lack of health care insurance?

Is It True this country engaged in 2 major wars that cost horrible human suffering with one percent of our best and brightest along with the foreign losses and will end up costing between $3 and $4 trillion in scarce national treasure because 3,000 innocent people lost their lives 9-11-2001?

Is It True the rah rah boys were gung ho about the 3,000 but could give a rats ass about the 40,000 plus?

Is It True this makes no God given sense?

Is It True if me and Brains keep up this Is It True s__t, editor is going to beg C&P to take our happy asses back?

    http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2009/09/new-study-finds-45000-deaths-annually-linked-to-lack-of-health-coverage/

    • I don’t mind the editors busting Obama’s chops on the some of this stuff, most of it is deserved.

However, if you’re going to cover the ACA then cover the whole spectrum of the issue. I see ZERO coverage of all the sh!tty hateful, treacherous things the GOP does regarding this issue. ZERO The phony websites, the lies about its effects, the efforts to try and dissuade people from getting coverage????? The denial of coverage. Plenty of a low hanging fruit out there. Where is the coverage???

      • Editor has no use for ObamaCare and editor is kinda hard to argue with about it because ObamaCare is lacking.

The reason I vote Democratic instead of Republican like I used to is the Republican Party had a lock on all layers of government at a time in our history that health care needed to be gotten control of in order to save our country from financial ruin and they not only punted, they did not propose or offer a solution for a vote during the time they had total control.

They offered no solution to this critical problem because they were (and still are) bought and paid for.

        http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2010/ted_20101101.htm

I respect the common whore a lot more.

        • I find little difference between either party, both are bought and paid for. But with the democrats you don’t get a choice. They choose who wins the primaries.

We go from republicans who did nothing to democrats who created a mess that can’t be fixed. with the comments I see from our local GOP, I hold little hope for change in the party.

Libertarians give me hope, but I don’t how they will bust into the two party system. We most likely will have a one party system elected by a minority of the vote.

          • Could it be true that by needing a “butt load” of money to run for a elected position now a days, say maybe starting the past forty years or better that “money wealth” has muddled much difference between the parties. Does it make sense, such as the mayor position (or any other), have to spend over five times the yearly pay, to try to get elected? Then these contributions must be paid back from the public through thru political favors?

Would it be true that it would be interesting requiring all elected officials
to wear a “nascar type” jacket when doing their duty, showing maybe their top 10 contributors patches with required various sizes based off of their contributions?
“After a public speech they could thank their sponsors” It would be a hoot!

    • Keep it up. We are flattered that you adopted our format and believe that everyone has a 1st amendment right to free speech. Keep it clean and real. Your input is appreciated.

  7. This message board is shameful. Unfortunately, the regulars are sad, ignorant, deranged lot with little to very little perspective. I sure hope they aren’t an indicator of the average CCO reader. If so, this publication doesn’t have a shot at legitimacy in perpetuity.
