Men’s golf opens fall season at Hoosier Collegiate Invite

Hosted by Indiana University, the tournament will be played at the Pfau Golf Course.  Par is set for 71 and the yardage checks in at 7265.  Evansville is one of 15 teams playing in the event, joining Ball State, Bradley, Butler, Cincinnati, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, IUPUI, Lipscomb, Loyola Chicago, Memphis, Miami (OH), North Alabama and Valparaiso.

Sunday’s first day will feature a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ET and continuous play through 36 holes.  Monday’s final 18 holes begins with 8:30 a.m. ET tee times at the first and tenth holes.

Evansville had a strong spring season, picking up a pair of top five team finishes, including a third place at the Don Benbow Invitational in March.  Isaac Rohleder had the lowest scoring mark last spring, completing the season with a 74.57.  He tied for 7th place at the Benbow Invitational before tying for 10th at the Big Blue Intercollegiate.

Second on the squad was Spencer Wagner, who graduated following the season.  He finished with a 75.38.  Carson Parker debuted with a strong year as a freshman, wrapping up the campaign with a 75.50.  He finished the Murray State Invitational in a tie for 14th place after finishing with an even 216.  Parker followed that effort up with a tie for 15th at the Big Blue Intercollegiate.

Henry Kiel (76.63), Michael Ikejiani (78.00), Caleb Wassmer (79.00) and Dallas Koth (79.50) also competed throughout the spring.  Joining the squad this year are Masatoyo Kato (Soja, Okayama, Japan), Eli Rohleder (Evansville, Ind.) and Cody Mobley (Mount Vernon, Ind.).
