“LEFT JAB AND RIGHT JAB”

“Right Jab And Left Jab” was created because we have two commenters that post on a daily basis either in our “IS IT TRUE” or “Readers Forum” columns concerning National or International issues.
Joe Biden and Ronald Reagan’s comments are mostly about issues of national interest.  The majority of our “IS IT TRUE” columns are about local or state issues, so we have decided to give Mr. Biden and Mr. Reagan exclusive access to our newly created “LEFT JAB and RIGHT JAB”  column. They now have this post to exclusively discuss national or world issues that they feel passionate about.
We shall be posting the “LEFT JAB” AND “RIGHT JAB” several times a week.  Oh, “Left Jab” is a liberal view and the “Right Jab is representative of the more conservative views. Also, any reader who would like to react to the written comments of the two gentlemen is free to do so.

  1. Trump Has Let 24 People Die in ICE Custody

Two dozen immigrants have died in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement since Trump’s inauguration, according to a new NBC News analysis of federal data.

That figure doesn’t even include the deaths of at least four immigrants who died shortly after being released from ICE custody. It also doesn’t include the deaths of immigrants held by other federal agencies, including at least five migrant children who have died while in the custody of Customs and Border Protection or the Office of Refugee Resettlement, a division of the Department of Health and Human Services charged with caring for unaccompanied migrant children who enter the U.S.

Advocacy groups that work with migrants attribute the death toll to substandard conditions in more than 200 detention centers across the country. “What we’re seeing is a reckless and unprecedented expansion of a system that is punitive, harmful and costly,” Katharina Obser, a senior policy adviser at the Women’s Refugee Commission, told NBC. “The U.S. government is not even doing the bare minimum to ensure [immigrants] are getting the medical care and the mental health care they need.”

NBC’s report suggests that in many cases, immigrants in ICE custody — including those who are apprehended at the border while attempting to enter the country and those who are arrested while living in the U.S. — are often given substandard medical care.

The New York Times reported on Sunday that doctors who work with immigrants in ICE custody say they’re treated like “felons” despite being civil — not criminal — detainees. The physicians who spoke to the Times said punitive treatment can make it more difficult to treat detained immigrants, and that guards are often eager to get detainees out of the hospital and back to crowded, dangerous detention centers.

A report released last Thursday by the inspector general of the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, found “egregious violations” at four detention centers in 2018, including expired food and unsanitary bathrooms. A September 2018 report found nooses in detainee cells and misuses of solitary confinement at the Adelanto Detention Center in California, which is owned and operated by the GEO Group, a private prison company that contracts with the federal government and operates a network of ICE detention centers across the country.

“Dangerous” conditions in ICE detention, as the DHS OIG report called them, aren’t limited to the Trump administration. The number of in-custody deaths peaked in 2004, when 32 immigrants died while detained by ICE. The annual death toll varied during the Obama administration: there were 10 ICE deaths in 2008, five in 2012, and 12 in 2016, NBC previously reported.

Immigration advocates say conditions will continue to get worse as the Trump administration detains more immigrants, which will lead to overcrowding and exacerbate the dangers of detention.

Approximately 34,000 immigrants were detained each day during the Obama administration. As of this month, ICE detains more than 52,500 immigrants each day — a figure that is expected to grow as the Trump administration cracks down on immigrants already living and working in the U.S.

El Salvador President Takes Responsibility For Rio Grande Drowning Deaths Of Father, Daughter

When a father and his two-year-old daughter from El Salvador drowned in the Rio Grande trying to illegally enter the United States last week, Democrats running for president immediately blamed President Trump.

But the new president of El Salvador, who took office just a month ago, declared “it is our fault.”

“People don’t flee their homes because they want to,” Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele said during a weekend press conference in San Salvador. “They flee their homes because they feel they have to.”<

“We can send all the blame to any government we like,” he said. “We can say President Trump’s policies are wrong. We can say Mexico’s policies are wrong. But what about our blame? What country did they flee? Did they flee the United States? They fled El Salvador, they fled our country. It is our fault,” said Bukele, who took office on June 1 after campaigning on fixing the country’s many problems.

On Monday, some 200 relatives and friends gathered for a funeral ceremony for the father and daughter, Óscar Martínez and 23-month-old Angie Valeria Martínez. They carried flowers and green palms, with some carrying signs bearing the logo of the Alianza soccer team favored by Martínez.

The father and daughter were found face down on the Mexico side of the river across from Brownsville, Texas. Bukele said the Salvadoran government failed to protect the 25-year-old Salvadoran and his daughter.

“We haven’t been able to provide anything, not a decent job, not a decent school,” he said. “What if there’s a little girl who had a decent school here, a decent health care system for her and her family, a decent house with water supply, a job for his parents, for his mother and his dad, a decent job, living in a zone where a gang member would not come to rape her and kill her family?”

While the father clearly bears the responsibility for trying to cross a dangerous river while carrying his daughter, some Democratic presidential candidates pointed the finger elsewhere. Robert “Beto” O’Rourke said there’s only one person to blame: “Trump is responsible for these death.”…

Ocasio-Cortez Says Border Agents Have Been ‘Sexually Threatening Towards Me’

So, of course, on Monday, AOC — seeing a chance to cash in politically with a crisis — headed to the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso, Texas, to view a housing center for foreigners who have tried to sneak into America or have claimed political asylum.

She wanted everyone to know, so she took to social media to make a slew of claims, none of them substantiated, including one against agents with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Agency.

“I see why CBP officers were being so physically &sexually threatening towards me. Officers were keeping women in cells w/ no water & had told them to drink out of the toilets. This was them on their GOOD behavior in front of members of Congress,” she wrote Monday on Twitter.

Hispanic pastors tour border facility lambasted by AOC and say they are ‘shocked by misinformation’

…The president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the world’s largest Hispanic Christian organization, and senior pastor of New Seasons Christian Worship Center in Sacramento shared his firsthand experience touring a migrant detention center during a press briefing Monday.

“I read the reports, saw the news clips. I just wanted to see what was actually happening in order to better enable our efforts to find a fair and a just solution to our broken immigration system,” Rodriguez, who has advised President Trump and both Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush on immigration reform, noted. “To my surprise, I saw something drastically different from the stories I’ve been hearing in our national discourse. Even as a veteran of immigration advocacy in the U.S., I was shocked at the misinformation of the crisis at the border.”

“We found no soiled diapers, no deplorable conditions and no lack of basic necessities,” Rodriguez remarked, adding he specifically asked border agents if they staged the facility in response to the negative press. “They unequivocally denied it — we were witnessing the identical conditions the attorneys saw when they toured the facility days earlier.”….

The pastors left encouraged by the commitment and dedication of America’s Border Patrol and immigration officers, “many of which are Latinos, by the way.” He said one emotional Border Patrol agent turned to him and said, referring to the vilification: “Pastor Sam, what they’re saying about us is completely false. We care about these kids and have a passion for our calling.”

  2. Holocaust survivor says Ocasio-Cortez should be ‘removed’ from Congress for spreading ‘anti-Semitism, hatred and stupidity’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should be removed from Congress for spreading “anti-Semitism, hatred and stupidity,” said a Holocaust survivor whose group invited her to tour Auschwitz.

Edward Mosberg, the 93-year-old president of The Depths, a group commemorating the Holocaust, slammed the New York Democrat over her controversial comparison of migrant detention facilities to “concentration camps,” prompting him to call for her removal.

“She should be removed from Congress. She’s spreading anti-Semitism, hatred and stupidity,” Mosberg said in an interview with The New York Post. “The people on the border aren’t forced to be there — they go there on their own will. If someone doesn’t know the difference, either they’re playing stupid or they just don’t care.”…

“Her statement is evil. It hurts a lot of people. At the concentration camp, we were not free,” Mosberg continued. “We were forced there by the Germans who executed and murdered people — there’s no way you can compare.”

Democrats promised aid and love for illegal migrants — but did not mention border protections or the concerns of ordinary Americans — during a raucous Monday visit to the Clint Border Patrol Station, just two miles from the Mexican border in Texas.

House Sues Treasury For Trump Tax Returns

The House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday sued the Treasury Department to get President Donald Trump’s tax returns, a spokesman for a committee member told CNBC on Tuesday.

The legal action shows the panel following through on its threat from months earlier, when Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and IRS chief Charles Rettig defied subpoenas to hand over six years of Trump’s personal and business returns. Mnuchin had argued that the committee had no “legitimate legislative purpose” to request the president’s federal tax returns.

The legal complaint in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., says that Mnuchin, Rettig and their departments “have now — for what the Committee believes is the first time ever — denied a Section 6103(f) request in order to shield President Trump’s tax return information from Congressional scrutiny.”

That section of the federal tax code clearly argues that the Treasury “shall furnish” an individual’s returns if a formal written request is made, Democrats argue.

“In refusing to comply with the statute, Defendants have mounted an extraordinary attack on the authority of Congress to obtain information needed to conduct oversight of Treasury, the IRS, and the tax laws on behalf of the American people who participate in the Nation’s voluntary tax system,” the complaint says.

Democrats say they do not need to justify their request under that statute. But they nevertheless argue that the returns are a necessary component in their probe of the IRS’ “administration of various tax laws and policies relating to Presidential tax returns and tax law compliance by President Trump” — including the efficacy of the agency’s “self-imposed policy of annually auditing the returns of sitting Presidents.”

“Indeed, President Trump himself has repeatedly questioned the integrity of the process by which the IRS audits his tax returns,” the legal document adds, “complaining that his returns are under ‘continuous audit’ and that the IRS’s policy of annually auditing Presidential returns is ‘extremely unfair.’”

The lawsuit was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

A spokeswoman for Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal, D-Mass., did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment. The White House

Both sides had signaled that the federal courts would be the proper next step in the dispute. “This is why there are three branches of government,” Mnuchin said in May.

The Trump administration has looked to the courts to block other efforts from House Democrats to obtain information about the president and his associates.

  6. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Frightens Tough Border Patrol 🐀Racists🐀 In Screamfest That Never Happened

Yesterday about a dozen members of Congress visited border detention centers run by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) near El Paso, Texas, to see as much of the conditions there as CBP would allow. Which wasn’t much. At about the same time, ProPublica published a story revealing the existence of a secret Facebook group for current and former CBP members who joked about the deaths of migrants and posted hilarious cartoons, like one showing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez about to get raped by Donald Trump. Not surprisingly, the congressional delegation wasn’t pleased, because liberals are snowflakes who cant take a joke.

The congressional visit also led to some spectacularly bad “reporting” by a scribbler from the rightwing Washington Examiner, accusing Ocasio-Cortez of scaring the poor overworked Border Patrol guys by yelling rudely at them and then refusing to take the tour they worked so hard to arrange.

The poor terrified CBP dudes must have been worried she’d lock them in an overcrowded cell with no room to stand, withhold their medications, and take their kids from them, we bet.

The reality, it turns out, is a tad different, according to another member of the congressional delegation: No, Ocasio-Cortez didn’t scream or threaten anyone, but for some reason, she wasn’t happy about a “tour” that didn’t include meeting with any detainees.

As for Washington Examiner’s 💩💩💩 it’s about what you might expect from the reporter who brought us that story in January that revived the old “Muslim Prayer Rugs” on the border trope. So score another one for journalistic bonafides

As for real journalism, the ProPublica story was reminiscent of recent reporting on closed Facebook groups where cops post viciously racist, sexist, and anti-Muslim comments and imagery. Unlike that earlier investigation, however, the reporters weren’t able to actually get inside the Border Patrol group, which is invitation-only. Instead, ProPublica received screenshots of several recent discussions — we’ll assume from a CBP member who was disgusted.

Created in August 2016, the Facebook group is called “I’m 10-15” and boasts roughly 9,500 members from across the country. (10-15 is Border Patrol code for “aliens in custody.”) The group described itself, in an online introduction, as a forum for “funny” and “serious” discussion about work with the patrol.

ProPublica received images of several recent discussions in the 10-15 Facebook group and was able to link the participants in those online conversations to apparently legitimate Facebook profiles belonging to Border Patrol agents, including a supervisor based in El Paso, Texas, and an agent in Eagle Pass, Texas. ProPublica has so far been unable to reach the group members who made the postings.

And what sort of funny and serious discussions of day-to-day work do the members of 10-15 like to post, to blow off steam when they’re not being the heroes who keep America safe? How about some amusing discussion of immigrants dying in Border Patrol custody?

In one exchange, group members responded with indifference and wisecracks to the post of a news story about a 16-year-old Guatemalan migrant who died in May while in custody at a Border Patrol station in Weslaco, Texas. One member posted a GIF of Elmo with the quote, “Oh well.” Another responded with an image and the words “If he dies, he dies.”

Over the weekend, a 30-year-old Guatemalan asylum-seeker died in ICE custody, and we can only imagine the mirth that must have occasioned in their brother officers on the secret CBP Facebook group.

The screenshots in the original story also included a lot of commentary on the announced visits by members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus — and other members of Congress — like Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Veronica Escobar of Texas. For instance, this amusing idea to throw burritos at ’em, haw haw (just blowing off steam from a stressful job defending America, remember).

Another wit suggested the congressional delegation should “hand out warm burritos and take in the smell,” because what’s funnier than a burrito joke when you’re talking about certain people? Another commenter added, “There should be no photo ops for these scum buckets,” which turned out to be pretty prescient, since members of Congress had their phones taken away from them during the tours of each facility.

Following the congressional delegation’s visit to the Border Patrol facilities, Ocasio-Cortez and others told reporters about the conditions inside. They described a visit with a group of more than a dozen Cuban women housed in a crowded cell without running water who reported going weeks without showers.

Ocasio-Cortez said one woman said she was told by Border Patrol officers to drink out of a toilet. “And that was them knowing that a congressional visit was coming,” the visibly angry lawmaker said in an interview. “This is CBP on their best behavior, telling people to drink out of the toilet” and she later took to Twitter to clarify that, no, she did not mean the sink part of the all-in-one plumbing fixtures.

Rep. Norma Torres of California confirmed in an NPR interview today that the women in the cell really did mean they’d been told to drink water from the toilet bowl. She added that this information never would have come to light had the delegation not demanded — against CBP’s wishes — to go inside the cell and talk to the women.

Needless to say, very smart people on Twitter decided the toilet story had to be bogus, because where were the photos of women having to do that, huh? Smart move of CBP to take away most of the phones, although Castro apparently managed to sneak a phone in despite the ban, and tweeted video of women sitting on the floor of a crowded cell.

Following the publication of Monday’s ProPublica story on the secret Facebook group for racists in the Border Patrol (surely the first time racists have ever been found in the agency, other than forever), CBP announced it would investigate:

“U.S. Customs and Border Protection was made aware of disturbing social media activity hosted on a private Facebook group that may include a number of CBP employees,” said Matthew Klein, head of the agency’s internal affairs unit and said CBP “immediately informed” the investigators with the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General and initiated an inquiry. The office typically takes the first look at allegations of serious misconduct within the CBP.

Former Border Patrol agent Jenn Budd, who now advocates for migrants, told ProPublica she wasn’t optimistic about any action being taken against the racists in the Facebook group.

“When they sit there and say they’re not going to tolerate this, they are lying”

Still, we bet all this attention will motivate them to clean up their act and not allow any more congressional visits

AOC screamed at Border Patrol agents in ‘threatening manner’ during tour: Witnesses

…“She comes out screaming at our agents, right at the beginning [of the tour] … Crying and screaming and yelling,” said one witness who said he was stunned by the outburst in front of approximately 40 people.

“The agents, they wanted to respond, but they held back because she’s a congressional delegate. But when you have someone yelling at you in a threatening manner … ” the same person said. “They were like, ‘Hey, you need to kinda step back.’”

A second official said she went in and out of the cell during the group’s briefing nearby and returned to the group several times to share information she had learned from detainees, including that one person had drunk from a toilet.

The congresswoman told the group she would not go with the 13 other House Democrats on the tour of the facility and stayed with the family.

A second official said that while she was around agents, Ocasio-Cortez commented at another point about an unofficial Border Patrol Facebook page that was exposed earlier Monday for offensive content about those in custody and lawmakers, including the congresswoman.

“Something under her breath, ‘Oh, all these guys in here are gonna f–k me.’ The agents are standing there behind the computers. One of the agents laughed at something he was saying to another agent, and she got irate and flipped out,” the second Border Patrol official said. “Now they’re under investigation for it. She took it as they were laughing at her and screams at them and says, ‘What’s so funny?’” ….

  8. Judicial Watch: Former State Official Testifies He Warned State Department Officials about Clinton Email Issues; Concerned about Interference on Classified Clinton Benghazi Email Documents

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that John Hackett, the former Director for Information Programs and Services (IPS), which handles records management at the State Department, testified under oath that he had raised concerns that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s staff had “culled out 30,000” of the secretary’s “personal” emails without following strict National Archives standards. The full deposition transcript is available here.

John Hackett, as part of a series of court-ordered depositions and questions under oath of senior Obama-era State Department officials, lawyers, and Clinton aides, also revealed that he believed there was interference with the formal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) review process related to the classification of Clinton’s Benghazi-related emails.

Hackett served first as deputy director then as director for Information Programs and Services, which handles the FOIA request program and the retirement of and declassification of documents at the State Department. He was at the department from April 2013 to March 2016.

In March 2015, Clinton told reporters that she and her staff had deleted more than 30,000 emails “because they were personal and private about matters that I believed were within the scope of my personal privacy.” ABC News reported: “However, after a year-long investigation, the FBI recovered more than 17,000 emails that had been deleted or otherwise not turned over to the State Department, and many of them were work-related, the FBI has said.”…

“This disturbing testimony points to an Obama administration conspiracy to hide and destroy Hillary Clinton emails,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “Even worse, the testimony suggests Clinton’s Benghazi emails were under-classified in order to protect Hillary Clinton (and mislead Congress). Attorney General Barr needs to prioritize reopening the Clinton email investigation.”

On December 6, 2018, U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth ordered Obama administration senior State Department officials, lawyers and Clinton aides to be deposed or answer written questions under oath. The court ruled that the Clinton email system was “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency.” Judicial Watch’s discovery is centered upon whether Clinton intentionally attempted to evade the Freedom of Information Act by using a non-government email system and whether the State Department acted in bad faith in processing Judicial Watch’s FOIA request for communications from Clinton’s office…..

House Expands Investigation Into Ivanka Trump Email Crimes

The House Oversight Committee is expanding its investigation into the Trump administration’s email crimes and failure to comply with federal record-keeping laws. According to a release from the House Oversight Committee:

After hearing no response for months, Cummings wrote again to the White House on March 21, 2019, conveying more troubling information about apparent violations of the Presidential Records Act by Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, Steve Bannon, and K.T. McFarland.

In addition, the report issued by Special Counsel Robert Mueller stated that Mr. Bannon admitted that “he regularly used his personal Blackberry and personal email for work-related communications (including those with Erik Prince), and he took no steps to preserve these work communications.”

The purpose of this investigation is to determine why White House officials used non-official email accounts, texting services, and encrypted applications for official business; why they failed to forward records sent or received on non-official accounts to their official accounts within 20 days as required by federal law; whether there were specific topics that White House officials sought to conceal; and whether legislative changes should be made to prevent similar violations in the future.

It is known that Ivanka Trump spent all of 2017 sending hundreds of illegal emails from the White House. Trump immediately blamed Hilary Clinton for his daughter’s email scandal, and the Trump administration has been stonewalling the investigation since before Democrats took back the House.

House Oversight are expanding their investigation in response to the Trump administration complying with no requests over the previous six months.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner broke the law. With the state of New York breathing down their necks, the last thing the Trumps needed was another investigation into their illegal behavior

Per Media Bias Fact Check: We rate Judicial Watch Questionable based on extreme right-wing bias, promotion of conspiracy theories and a very poor fact check record.

Reasoning: Extreme Right, Conspiracy, Propaganda, Fake News

A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for the purpose of profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact checked on a per article basis

Founded in 1994 by Larry Klayman, Judicial Watch (JW) is an American conservative activist group that files Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits to investigate ALLEGED misconduct by government officials. They PRIMARILY target Democrats such as the Clinton’s, Obama and climate scientists as they label climate science, “fraud science.”

JUDICIAL WATCH HAS MADE NUMEROUS FALSE AND UNSUBSTANTIATED CLAIMS, WITH A VAST MAJORITY OF THEIR LAWSUITS DISMISSED

Judicial Watch reports news on their website with the use of strong emotional language that is usually pro-right or anti-left. Common topics covered are anti-immigration, in which they highlight crimes committed by illegal immigrants such as this: Busy Month for Illegal Immigrants Committing Heinous Crimes or dedicating an entire website to exposing former President Obama’s alleged IRS scandal. They have also promoted debunked conspiracy theories such as this. Further, the founder of JW, Larry Klayman recently promoted the conspiracy that the Clinton’s were killing people. In general the majority of content and story selection is anti-left.

A FACTUAL SEARCH REVEALS A HORRIBLE TRACK RECORD WITH FACT CHECKING. Below is a small sample of their failed fact checks by IFCN fact checkers

DHS Quietly Moving, Releasing ‘Vanloads’ of ‘Illegal Aliens’ Away from Border – FALSE
Has Nancy Pelosi spent $100,000 on food, booze and “partying” during her air travel? – FALSE

‘Islamic Refugee’ with Gas Pipeline Plans Arrested in New Mexico Border County – FALSE
Did the IRS ‘Fast Track’ Tax-Exempt Status for ‘After School Satan’ Clubs? – FALSE

  11. 💣💣💣BOOM💣💣💣 Exposing the “Stupidest Man On The Internet” at Gateway for once again being wrong (and a right-wing hero to JethroBodine👨‍🌾)

U.S. Border Patrol Council Issues “Statement” With Easily Disprovable Lies About AOC And Site Visit

Monday some members of Congress were allowed into the El Paso detention center to see what the conditions are like for migrants after reports of unsanitary and cruel confinement for asylum seekers, many of whom are being detained separately from their children. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was among the visitors in an oversight trip arranged by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. Unfortunately, only hours before her visit, she was featured in a bombshell story from ProPublica about a secret Facebook group with 9,500 Border Patrol members where some members shared vile, racist, and misogynist comments and memes, one of which was a sexist cartoon of AOC engaged in a sex act with a detained migrant.

As news of the ProPublica exposé went viral, the National Border Patrol Council, which represents Border Patrol employees, released a statement on the “I’m 10-15” Facebook group (“10-15” Border Patrol code for “aliens in custody”) and noted that not everyone in the group is a current employee of the Border Patrol. In their effort to do damage control, they essentially said the awful comments were from a few bad apples. And then they attributed statements to AOC that she did not say, specifically that she called agents “Nazis”

AOC and others quickly responded because she never called the agents Nazis and called it “truly nuts” the Border Patrol was “pushing easily disprovable lies about members of Congress”

AOC joined other members of Congressional Hispanic Caucus, including Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro, California Rep. Judy Chu, Texas Rep. Veronica Escobar and Pennsylvania Rep. Madeleine Dean. Several members said they were treated poorly and/or felt threatened by Customs and Border Patrol agents inside the facility, although it was the armed agents who would later claim they “felt threatened.” Ocasio-Cortez called them on that falsehood as well.

“And to these CBP officers saying they felt “threatened” by me, they were literally discussing making a GoFundMe for an officer who attacked my on my tour. They confiscated my phone, and they were all armed. I’m 5’4”. They’re just upset I exposed their inhumane behavior” AOC said to show their lies

Making people drink out of toilets is inhumane. Taking people’s children and not even telling them where they’ve gone is inhumane. Some of these children will never be reunited with their parents and that is a shame we will all have to carry now.

It is not possible to read what was happening in that group and not be horrified that these Border Patrol employees were so freely sharing these things in a large group setting.

One member encouraged Border Patrol agents to hurl a “burrito at these bitches.” Another, apparently a patrol supervisor, wrote, “Fuck the hoes.” “There should be no photo ops for these scum buckets,” posted a third member.

Clearly, people need to be fired. It’s time to clean house at the Border Patrol. Specifically, people at the top need to be fired because what we saw revealed in that Facebook group is a lack of leadership more than anything else. The fact that people felt so free to express such things like mocking migrant deaths and vulgar comments about female members of Congress openly tells you something about the environment overall at the U.S. Border Patrol. As the saying goes, the fish rots from the head. When you lead with ethics and moral clarity, you demand the same from those who work for you and with you. That’s what AOC is doing. That’s what everyone in government should be doing, even at the Border Patrol.

Looks like JethroBodine👨‍🌾 will have to work extra hard on his census summertime job

Trump Loses: Citizenship Question Won’t Appear On 2020 Census

There is one deadline on the Census that is outlined in the U.S. Constitution. It put Trump in a difficult position after the Supreme Court refused to allow the citizenship question to appear on the Census

CNN reported Tuesday that Trump lost the battle, that the Census would go out without the question. The Department of Justice spent months arguing with the High Court that they couldn’t wait around and needed to get the Census out as soon as possible

But Monday, Trump flubbed the argument, saying that he might wait and see if they could make it work. Tuesday it was revealed Trump’s dreams were dashed. The Department of Justice just advised that the decision has been made to print the census questionnaire WITHOUT the citizenship question

Per the Department of Justice: We can confirm that the decision has been made to print the 2020 Decennial Census with the citizenship question, and the printer has been instructed to begin the printing process
