IS IT TRUE January 29, 2015

IS IT TRUE that the vigor with which Mayor Winnecke and his minions have been pursuing the downgraded downtown convention hotel would be best described by the term “aggressive mediocrity”?… Time and time again elected officials in Evansville have promised champagne and delivered a 12 pack of rot gutt beer?…that is exactly what the downtown hotel project has morphed into after 80 months of delusion and deception?…going forward with a motel that is delivering a class of service and accommodations that is more typical of the “leaving the light on” brand than a real 4 Star brand is a desperate politically driven attempt to rescue a failed administration?…with a medical school on the horizon the best thing to do with the hotel is to put it on the shelf and wait until the medical school attracts a real hotel worthy of a real downtown?

IS IT TRUE the Evansville Convention and Visitor’s Bureau was successful in attracting a young educated professional to take the job managing the new ballfield complex on the northeast side, but it wasn’t successful in keeping him for long?…after 3 months on the job, Dennis Hodges, who came to Evansville from South Carolina has resigned and headed to Georgia for a job he liked better?…all of the official words that have emerged from the CVB have been positive for the ballfields complex’s first year of operation?…if that is true and we will know when the season starts if it really is true, there must have been something about life in River City that drove Mr. Hodges decision to leave after just 3 months?

IS IT TRUE in another highly visible resignation, GAGE President Debbie Dewey who was a strong supporter of the $5 Million Dollar Earthcare Energy LLC fiasco has announced her departure after four and a half years on the job?…Dewey has stated that she is leaving for an “offer she couldn’t refuse” but did not disclose her destination?…she did tease the media by opining that an announcement is forthcoming so “stay tuned”?

IS IT TRUE it didn’t take the mainstream media long to dig up some skeletons in the closet of inventor turned Mayoral candidate Steven Wozniak?…about as quick as he started floating trial balloons the news about back taxes, a bankruptcy, and a past conviction were trumpeted for all to see?…politics is a dirty game and Mr. Wozniak should have known going in that there would be no mercy?…it will be interesting to see if he sticks with it and gets his name on the ballot?…he is a colorful character with lots of ideas and would certainly spice up the debates if he were invited to join the stage with Mayor Winnecke and Representative Riecken?

IS IT TRUE that the Affordable Housing Trust Fund was established by the City Council in May of 2002 with $1 million in starting funds after lobbying efforts by Congregations Acting for Justice and Empowerment (CAJE) exposed an affordable housing crisis in the City of Evansville? …that the ordinance can be found starting at Chapter 3.35.010? …that the fund was to be administered by the Department of Metropolitan Development? …that an 11 member advisory committee was to make recommendations to the City regarding the development of policies and procedures for the uses of the Fund and long-term sources of capital for the Fund, including revenue (development ordinances, fees or taxes), financial market based income, private sources and grants, gifts, donations, etc. from government programs, foundations or corporations? …that the funds were to be used to provide financial assistance to low income individuals and families purchasing or leasing residential units, to make loans, grants and loan guarantees related to the development of affordable housing and to provide technical assistance to nonprofit developers of affordable housing?  …that the ordinance contemplates the Fund’s assets being invested and generating investment income to be used along with other funds generated by the Department of Metropolitan Development pursuant to the policies and procedures laid out by the advisory committee?  …that today, the Fund has a mere $30,000 in assets?…that the Department of Metropolitan Development has failed to act to preserve the assets of the Fund or operate the Fund in a sustainable manner?…that the Fund meant to grow and operate as a Trust is all but gone?  …that CAJE in learning that the Fund no longer had meaningful assets has met with City officials to ask questions about the fate of the money?…that to date, the City has been unable to explain why the Fund is essentially no more, and without making any sizable dent in the unmet need for affordable housing in the City of Evansville?  …that the Winnecke Administration’s lack of any real plan for moving Evansville forward is awkwardly apparent as officials stand around and point fingers at one another related to the demise of this Fund?

  1. January 29, 2015 ?????? Was this meant for tomorrow?

Editor, Fall City Beer has a greater status then that! One must scrape the bottom of that barrel, or even under that barrel for that true match for that hotel circus!

  2. Armstrongres: Awe. They only missed by one day and 90 years. Big deal. Like most of the visions that come out of downtown Evansville and its outdated leadership. At the rate of tries as currently applied that means by then they’ll be on about their 359Th proposal for some downtown boondoggle hotel. They’ll be some kid in Newburgh proving them obsolete, as always. He’ll provide destination, meals, and transportation to any calibrated meeting place or vacation spot overnight and back in the blink of a logistical eye. Cheap.
Probably put his transporter pod on the eastern side of the old I-69 roadway in a historical building that was once a IU Medical school building just for nostalgic theming for those that show up for a little time travel while on their reality verses virtual vacation……….

  3. IS IT TRUE- “with a medical school on the horizon the best thing to do with the hotel is to put it on the shelf and wait until the medical school attracts a real hotel worthy of a real downtown?”

~b~ This word-strand makes the most sense … to this reader. …

    • The only problem I see with that is that the Medical School doesn’t belong downtown. It should either be on our own “Medical Mile” or the USI Campus.
I can’t imagine how a Medical School would be a draw for a hotel on any significant, sustainable basis. There may be an annual conference and an occasional gathering otherwise, but I don’t see how that will impact a hotel.

      • 100% agree. I believe they initially thought the students would rent the apartments that were included in the plan. The apartment better be butt cheap for a student! Nothing about the school downtown has been a good idea. Were they planning a small market or grocery in the area for Ramen noodles and peanut butter?

        • A lot of people are envisioning IUMS as hundreds of young doctors converging on the city. The reality is that the vast majority of students will be nursing students who are already filling slots at UE and Ivy Tech, and the majority of the new slots will be for nursing students. There will only be about 200 more students than we have now when IUMS is operating at full force.
Let me be clear, I’m very pleased that we will have these students, who will be assets to the community, but IUMS is NOT going to be the salvation for downtown that some would have us believe. We will have young people most of whom are from this area, who are studying to become nurses. They will not need upscale, downtown housing. They will need affordable, conveniently located housing and 24/7 public transportation.

          • I think most know what the school will be used for. I am a parent of a medical field student. She lives at home and works. Working, school and externship will not come close to covering the cost involved with this type of downtown living. She is not on any assistance program. Even the students receiving grants or other loans and assistance would not be able to afford it. I don’t think people realize that the externships are non paying. It is highly doubtful any faculty would stay in those apartments either.

  4. Evansville Transparency has a Hilton Hotels Letterhead note from Paris Hilton backing the Mayor’s assertions that a quasi- agreement exists, and it is being kept in a Vault somewhere out of concern for safety, and political intrigue. I wonder if she will be here for the Ribbon cutting?

  5. “Vanderburgh County Democratic Vice Chair Connie Robinson endorsed Republican Lloyd Winnecke for Evansville mayor. Robinson supported Winnecke over Democratic candidate for Mayor Rick Davis. Republican Mayor Winnecke defeated Democrat Rick Davis 11,664 to 10,009 to become only the third Republican to serve at the head of city government since 1955.”

    • “Certainly many within the Democrat “establishment” assisted Winnecke, but one of the most notable pockets of cross over support was from the 4th ward where Lloyd obtained 46% from the 4th ward, a shockingly high number for a Republican. Winnecke’s success was due to the support and endorsement of Democrat City Councilwoman Connie Robinson.”

      • But Shem, she clearly stated that she was doing what her constituents wanted her to do. That Winnecke was who they wanted for mayor. She also said the admonishment from the democrat party was not a big deal because she did not intend to run for office again. Eric Williams agreed with connie and supported her decision to support Winnecke. I would support former sheriff’s Shepherd and Hamner before I would vote for Williams for anything.

        • POV,

It’s all an illusion with several people here. She’s endorsed Winnecke. The ship is gone.

There is NO endorsement of Gail Riecken coming from Democrat Connie Robinson.

I give her credit for being being selfish. Takes courage and lots of ego.

POV, you are right to essentially acknowledge she will say anything to preserve her options.

I don’t admire her choices, and I think she is totally wrong. And she has a big time authenticity problem…but she knows to maintain what authenticity she has left, she is sticking with Winnecke. And there are NO doubts she is extracting a price along the way with Winnecke.

I know people on this section at the CCO are pissed about this. But it is total denial of the truth. Connie Robinson plays hardball. There is no Riecken endorsement coming.

          • ….you would have seen the endorsement to help Riecken if there was.

There is NO risk of her losing her Council position. None. There is no risk for her, but she gets other things with the endorsement of Winnecke. Nothing with Gail Riecken.

            Just smart, 100% Machiavellian politics.

Connie is preserving and picking up new personal capital.

        • ELKAYBEE,

Gail Riecken has plenty of endorsements.

          1. Connie Robinson is NOT one of them.

          2. Connie Robinson has endorsed Lloyd Winnecke. That ship has sailed.

          3. Connie WILL NOT endorse Gail.

You are unconditionally wrong, and silly LKB.

          • And stop trying to make this about some weird attack on you personally because you’re being shown wrong on this. That’s a bunch of crap and a diversion.

Connie is not endorsing Gail Riecken for Mayor. That is the only thing this is about.

          • Laura is right and Shem is wrong. Pretty clear and simple. Watch and see who Connie supports. Time will prove that you are a big fat idiot on this topic.

          • MOVEON…man, I respect you. But you are NOT paying attention. Everything is right in front of you.

  6. “Evansville seems ripe to be a significant GOP pick up. The Evansville Democratic Party appears to be split, evidenced by the endorsement of Winnecke by Democratic City Council member Connie Robinson. Democrat nominee Rick Davis told the Evansville Courier & Press, “This endorsement is further proof that the political insiders are circling the wagons to try to ensure that one of their own succeeds.”

    • “Vanderburgh County’s Democratic Vice Chair Connie Robinson endorses the Republican Candidate Lloyd Winnecke for Evansville Mayor.”

“Democratic Councilwoman Connie Robinson endorsed Republican Candidate Lloyd Winnecke over Democrat for Mayor Rick Davis. Robinson led several other Democratic party members to sign a petition supporting her. The Vice Chair Connie Robinson says Republican Lloyd Winnecke better represents the interests of her constituents. Big name local Democrats, including Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel, have signed a petition saying Robinson should remain the Vice Chair.”

  7. “Skeletons in the closet.”

What does it really matter in politics? In general, does it seem that a percentage of those involve in this segment of employment, are generally immune to prosecution, while the same action would land us “peasants” in front of a judge and face jail time?

I remind the “editor” that back in Dec. 15, the “Breaking News” nugget that my post had been taken down and was threaten to be “ban” from this site. The issue was that I mention

    “two skeletons”

that had plenty of media coverage when they had occurred, which was about the person involved with the topic. Early last week the editor made a post in which his/her content contradict the action taken on my post Dec 15th. The door was left open for explanation which never occurred.

So in conclusion, “skeletons” don’t matter in this public group!

  8. Surprised there’s 30,000 left, they should have stole that and eraced record of it’s history. They are getting sloppy in their crookedness.

  9. Does anyone know why Al Lindsey isn’t fighting like a wounded otter to reopen Mesker Amphitheater which is in his 6th ward?

    • He probably doesn’t know that it is in his ward. Someone from Jacobsville contacted him about a neighborhood issue and he told them that he didn’t know that Jacobsville is in his ward. Just yesterday, he is on record saying that a good portion of the Pigeon Creek Greenway is in Ward 3. Almost all of it is in his ward, except for a mile or so that crosses into Ward 5. He doesn’t know much about the city. I guess that’s because he lives in the county.

      • Phyllip, with all due respect, your post is nonsense. Al Lindsey knows Mesker Amphitheater is in his 6th ward. He has talked about Mesker, but talk isn’t action. My question is why isn’t Mr. Lindsey fighting like a wounded otter to have the $100,000 allocated to reopen Mesker Amphitheater for the citizens.

          • Martha, Mr. Lindsey reads the CCO and is in touch with the public. I just hope that he takes on the reopening of Mesker Amphitheater as a main cause. It is a community jewel sitting is disrepair for lack of basic maintenance. There is huge public support for Mesker. No fancy sky boxes, just a great outdoor venue for us common folk.

        • A better question is why isn’t the Mayor fighting like the dicken’s to fix up Mesker?

        • It’s “brains were”, not “brains was”. Use the correct subjective verb, Brainiac. It’s funny how I can make a factual, well-documented statement and you insult that. You dispute the facts and support the rumors. Hilarious. Now, who has the shortage on brains?

        • Your response is absolutely stupid. The thing that I think that clearly defines Lindsey is when he denied drinking while on duty, then said he didn’t know it was a mixed drink then admitted he was drinking but wasn’t drunk. I’m sure that the company he was with at the time and the people involved plus the bar atmosphere, that he was given a well mixed drink. So if he didn’t know he was drinking alcohol how can we expect him to know what lies in his ward. We do know one indisputable fact, he lied about his drinking and we need to let that stand for all else. I’m sure he’ll be re elected and that speaks of the standard of conduct expected and set by his ward.

      • Phyllip Davis,
Al Lindsey HAS requested money for the revitalization of Mesker Amphitheatre and every time has been told by the administration there is NO money. The administration is the reason for nothing being done to fix the issues at the Amphitheatre. So instead of running your mouth about Al Lindsey, why don’t you call the mayor and ask where the money is going??? Oh that’s right, you just want to sit BEHIND a computer screen (or whatever device you use) and talk about things that you have NO idea about. Al Lindsey has accomplished MORE for the 6th Ward than Watts or Mosby did in their many years as our representatives.

        • Lindsey has spent his time in office doing a vendetta on the Fire Chief. There’s no way an employee of the city or county should be allowed to hold an elected office. He sure didn’t support SBR. He’s been at the trough too long.

        • How can he ask the administration for the money when Council sets the budget? If he wanted it done, he would tell the other five members of his clique to fund it. No, instead they harass the Parks department by criticizing the state of the parks while cutting their budget. “Oh that’s right, you just want to sit BEHIND a computer screen (or whatever device you use) and talk about things that you have NO idea about.” Obviously, that comment fits you better than me because you don’t even know how city government’s finances are budgeted. To paraphrase, it’s better to be thought a fool than type a snarky comment that is totally inaccurate to confirm your foolishness.

      • Thank you for your negative comments. It is comforting for me to know that someone of your high stature and standing in the Evansville community is so intensely concerned for the citizens of a my ward. Please tell Missy and Weaver that I said hi and that I wish them well in this year’s election. Keep up the good work and good luck in all of your future endeavors. Al Lindsey 6th Ward City Common Council. P. S. There is a primary election in May file against me. I would look forward to running against a fine individual as yourself.

        • I’m pretty sure that Brinkmeyer will defeat you in the primary. I would never sully my name by filing as a Democrat.

        • Furthermore, what was negative about my comment? It was a statement of fact. Do you deny telling someone that you didn’t know that Jacobsville was in your ward? Do you deny that you told John Martin that the Pigeon Creek Greenway is in Ward 3? Do you deny that you live on New Harmony Rd? Only Democrats call facts “negative comments” when the facts don’t support their rhetoric.

  10. First he said he was for it now he says he’s against it. I’m talking about the city boards residency requirement ordinance. It’s been in the news lately that the Mayor is asking a panel of local judges to look into this issue to see if the new ordinance is actually legal or not.

First the Mayor was for it then he vetoed it. They then overturn his veto and he is not asking for judicial review. He must be fighting like the Dickens to keep his Warrick County Friend on these boards for some reason. Maybe they have some skeletons hiding in their closets.

  11. If you trying to market a fan are the main pictures of the fans by the beach? Do you need to fan the ocean breeze? Common sense would lead you to the normal family outing or backyard use. Creating a breeze when there is none seems a better strategy. It is no wonder there was a bankruptcy.

  12. “Skeletons” are another way of saying human. There’s an old saying, “Show me someone that hasn’t screwed up and I’ll show you a person that hasn’t done anything”

I believe that fits here with Mr Wozniak.

  13. “that CAJE in learning that the Fund no longer had meaningful assets has met with City officials to ask questions about the fate of the money?…that to date, the City has been unable to explain why the Fund is essentially no more, and without making any sizable dent in the unmet need for affordable housing in the City of Evansville? ”

But, this just can’t be. Kelley Coures is such a freaking magician at finding lost funds! He just found some missing cash for Owen Block. I realize that those funds go to the elite area of downtown for upscale housing and more gifts to Michael Martin, and this money is earmarked for low-income housing. Maybe that’s the difference. The “beautiful people” deserve more than the “riff-raff” in the minds of the Winnie Administration.
CAJE’s mission is worthwhile and its a shame this fund seems to have gone defunct. With the Poop pursuing more low-paid hospitality jobs, it looks like low-income housing is the future of Evansville.

    • Affordable low income housing? Looks like E-ville has the most excluding Detroit. Lots of houses for 5 to 20 thousand sitting empty. Why do they set families up in $100,000 homes and supplement the purchase 50% when you could give them three homes for that same fifty thousand. They could then be low income housing providers themselves. Would be a good starting point for individuals wanting to work their way up in society.

Maybe funding that should have gone to CAJE has been diverted by the administration (DMD) to look pretty projects like the houses they remodeled between downtown and Haneys corner. They spent over $300,000 on one to get it to appraise for around $120,000. Finally sold it to a subsidized buyer for ?????? less than $100,000.

$300,000 would buy a whole block of homes. why spend that much on one family?

Was CAJE part of this fiasco? Maybe that is why the fund is depleted.

      • Many of those empty homes are not safe. It does seem that it would be best to take some of those homes, bring them up to code, and offer them at low or no interest to some of the people who need them, but that wouldn’t have suited the aesthetics that the powers that be want.

        • Not Safe??? Up to code??? Low interest??? You could say its not safe to live in Evansville with the crime and gunfire. Be reasonable with the term “not safe” – the building authority does a great job in Eville – all unsafe homes are condemn and habitation is prevented. Be reasonable with the term “up to code” – the building authority does a great job of insuring the structures are up to code – if they are not up to code they are condemned. No need for low interest. No need for any interest.

Just buy the houses and give them to qualifying families. A few years later when the family has proven themselves as homeowners buy the house back and they will have a down payment for something better. Give the house away again.

Why do we have to start them out better than the most of us started?

          • Giving someone with a low income a house that will have huge maintenance and utility bills is NOT doing them a favor. Have you taken a close look at the plumbing, heating, and electrical service in those $5,000-30,000 houses? I doubt you’ll find one that is not in need of very expensive repairs. If you do, you should buy it.

          • Elkaybee, I didn’t say anything about doing them a favor.

I am talking affordable housing. Did you know that there were families living in these homes before they become vacant? They were paying or getting subsidies for the utilities and upkeep before vacating the properties. Many saved enough to buy nicer homes while living conservatively and maintaining or improving their home.

Yes some just let the place run down around them. These are few and far between because of the great code enforcement we have. If they are not condemned they should be great for low income people. If not low income people who would you suggest? High income people buy them and live there?

          • @ Fred: “Not doing them a favor” is a figure of speech. What I should have said is that handing over terribly substandard housing could cost the recipients and or their children their lives. There is a good reason that the families that did inhabit those places are not still there, and a good many of them are homeless because they can’t get money together for a security deposit and utilities, because of the huge bills that the abandoned houses caused. You are suggesting making things WORSE for poor families under the guise of helping them.

          • Elkabee, we are talking about a major city here. This is not just out in the country where there are no adopted codes and enforcement. The houses that you refer to that are so substandard that children could loose their life are condemned and taken out of the equation by the Building Commission. They do a good job in Evansville – Right. Now as far as struggling to pay utility bills – that is just a part of life the less affluent have to learn to deal with. Taking care of them and giving them what they need without any motivation on their part is not helping them.

Giving them an opportunity to start making the right choices, improving themselves and their surroundings a little at a time – really is helping them.

Something about feeding them for a day or teaching them how to feed themselves comes in here somewhere.

Remember the oversupply of houses (vacant houses) are habitable or the Building Commission would condemn them – right?

          • @ Fred: You really don’t believe that all of the unsafe housing has been condemned, do you? If so, you need to get some help.

          • @ Fred: Are you aware that housing inspectors can’t go on private property unless they are invited by the owner or tenant?

          • elkaybee, I am still trying to grasp the concept that inspectors don’t inspect unless invited. Thanks for the enlightenment.

    • Gangs, with their Shootings, Drugs, and Crimes of all types is all you get for providing “affordable housing”. Nothing good comes of it, it is all bad. This is something we do not need anymore of. Anyone with a brain is sick of welfare housing. If you can’t afford to live here on your own, then you should hit the road jack, and go where you can afford it. Think of all the good it would do to get rid of all low income housing! It would be fantastic and a great help to our police force and school teachers, the court system, jail and lots more! The stupid misguided do-gooders are only creating more problems. Ever notice when you go to a nice upscale town or city that they have very little Government housing, a very small “bad section”, if at all? This is by design. They have decided to have jobs, little crime, good schools…….Heck, then we could even get rid of the buses… Lets turn turn this City around and go in the opposite direction we have been going people. We need real, intelligent innovative dynamic leadership so badly in Evansville, and it is not even on the horizon. We need to shut off the welfare program spigot at all it’s levels for this is one of our major problems in America. Then we can cut your Taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • That diatribe sounds like something akin to the Nazi’s final solution. Man, you sick SOB get a frigging clue. Innovation moves beyond barriers, seeks variation, doesn’t limit.

        Yuck!

        • Exactly. If we would only cut off the poor, they would suddenly be motivated to work three jobs and he would become rich and famous on the $2.50 taken out of his monthly paycheck for poverty programs.

          Yuck indeed.

The oligarchs steal $20TRILLION over the last 20 years or so and these a$$holes cheer it on, but let somebody get $100 in food stamps or unemployment and they go beserko.

          F’in IDIOTS

  14. ‘…that to date, the City has been unable to explain why the Fund is essentially no more, …’

Sounds to me like someone in or around the DMD, now, in the past or both, stole the money. Probably the janitor. The fund is essentially no more because the funds are essentially no more. They’re cranking up the receipt machine.

I’m sure it’ll turn out that fund was exhausted in the service of a good cause, as the CAIE intended. That would include investing in a sure thing like our grand new convention hotel or helping the needy like O’Daniel carriagemongers move to the highway. If nothing flies and the heat becomes dangerous, the money can always be ‘found’.

    • No on the dpat move. Those funds were misappropriated from the average homeowner who lives in a neighborhood with a burned out meth house or the like. The above average Joe who keeps his place looking nice while the place next door has a tree growing out of the window and the raccoons show off by using the front door.

  15. Is it true that the city council member who orchastrated the residency ordinance, in fact, lives in Newburgh? Is it true that another member of the council, that also works for a city department, lives in the county and not in the city as state law requires? Do not as I do, but do as I say.

This part of post taken down by Editor because remark was insulting, possible libelous and unfounded.

    • I thought that this is where unfounded remarks come to grow into full-fledged conspiracy theories.

      • Gee, I’m surprised to see you on CCO using your own name! You clearly don’t believe in First Amendment rights. Snatched any protest signs out of any women’s hands lately?

        • I’m for public decency. When there are families at an event, it is inappropriate to have signs with profanity. It’s really none of your business. The young lady and I have had a long conversation about it and she knows that my motive was not to suppress her speech. If she chose to have a “f*#k the police” rally and someone wanted to stop it, I would support her right to congregate and freedom of speech. Much in the same way that I would support the KKK’s civil rights. I’m a Republican and we’re pro-Constitution always, not just when we’re in agreement with the cause. And when have you ever seen me not use my real name?

  16. If Connie Robinson’s idea is so great that only City residents can be on City boards, shouldn’t they be appointing Mr. Weaver to City boards.

  17. Even if this guy would say his drug cases and DUIs and invasion of privacy were “in the past,” that doesnt change his bankruptcy, home forclosure, and $15k owed to springleaf cases, which were all recent or still ongoing. How can he expect people to believe he can run the city when he cant run his own life?

  18. “Dewey has stated that she is leaving for an “offer she couldn’t refuse” but did not disclose her destination?…she did tease the media by opining that an announcement is forthcoming so “stay tuned”?”

Why does this egomaniac think her future is of any special interest to most Evansvillians? I guess she forgot about bringing us the EarthCare scam.

    • She was beating the drum for the full 5 million right up until the gavel came down. Really makes you wonder why she’d do that. Earthcare’s scam had already fallen apart by that point.

    • Woodward: Mitchell resigns from CREP and says he wants to spend more time with this family, sounds like BS, we don’t exactly believe that.

Deep Throat: Oh but it’s touching isn’t it? Forget the myths the media has created about the WH, you see these are really not very bright guys and things got out of hand.

Woodward: Hunt’s come in from the cold, supposedly he has a lawyer with $25,000 in a brown paper bag

Deep Throat: (interrupting) Follow the money!….. Just follow the money.

      • HA!

I watched both All The President’s Men…and Three Days of the Condor on TMC too.

So well made. I smile watching them. Especially A-P-M.

  19. Seems the CCO wasn’t happy when the hotel was too big and nice at 10 floors and $70M+, and now the CCO isn’t happy because it’s not big/nice enough? JJW, your new nickname should be Goldilocks.

    • That would be because neither alternative is reasonable, at least as I see it. I can’t answer for Joe, but the $70 million option is not doable, because of what the building would appraise at after it was built. The current option is just a shabby motel that would have to be demolished should the need for a real hotel on that site ever arise. Clearly, the mayor is frantic to build something there and doesn’t care what it is. He has to deliver some jobs to his union supporters and will try to pass any substandard building off as a “great accomplishment.”

  20. What party’s ticket would this Wozniak be on? And somebody tell me what the guy was saying up there that got removed. Sounds juicy.

  21. Pence’s Pravda on the Plains is dead.

    JustIN is now OUT.

It just lived 4 days but it sure gave us an insight into the minds of conservatives, didn’t it?

Facts have a liberal bias, so we’ll create our own “facts” and spew them on Fox/State run media.

    • There is a valuable article on The Drudge Report on the Daily Beast.

      Here it is:
      http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/01/29/who-will-win-the-2016-matt-drudge-primary.html

Valuable to show the Millennial’s….a/k/a the future generation of voters….considers the Drudge Report to be like “a landline telephone” when it comes to information.
NextGen, younger sources, and increasingly everyone else’s….Twitter, Facebook, social media sites.

And the average Drudge viewer is (like Fox News)….and Old Conservative or and Old Tea Party Fanatic.

And there are four GOP primaries:
      1. The early primary…for the radicals….known as Iowa. Sarah Palin/Ted Cruz type fools do well.
      2. The big money/donor game primary
      3. The Drudge Report primary (who Drudge decides to make look like a fool, and the preferred who get their actual views linked)
      4. The rest of the US GOP State Primaries
(Where you find out how amazing and bizarre it is that the entire Republican Party hates Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush type pro-business, but not “white Christian America” candidates….UNTIL they get in the actual voting booth….and those smart, pro-business candidates actually get the Republican vote)

Last…..Drudge thinks White Christian candidates like Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee are idiots and has no respect for them.

    • On par with the “Education Committee” that was hatched to run interference after the (R) incumbent lost that State mandated seat in the 2012 election. There was talk for this session to change the State seat from a “elected”, to a partisan “appointed” seat which would serve at the leisure of the governor.

      • It’s more than just talk, it looks like its going to pass.

Notice they’re not doing the same to the Auditor’s office or the Sec of State, just the office a Dem holds. Like I said he’s a tin horn despotic horse’s ass.

        Glenda Ritz for Governor!

    • Amen. Pence will try to bury its memory, but I think it cost him a chance at the Koch’s backing. Of course, none of that would have mattered, anyway. He never had a chance to run for president or vp.

  22. I do not belong to any political party, never have and never will. But it is plain as day that Pence is an idiot and a loser. Can he be shipped out of state? Please.
