The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation’s Coordinated School Health Team is working to make it easier for EVSC schools to make healthy choices when doing fundraising. The team would like to create a resource guide of healthy alternatives for fundraisers made up of area organizations and businesses with items that could be used to raise money for schools.
The team is looking to gather a list of fundraising ideas that are easy to manage, yet have a reasonable profit capability. Ideal fundraisers will include non-food items such as flowers, plants, mulch, jewelry, etc. and those that include healthy food choices. According to the team, having healthy fundraisers demonstrates the group’s commitment to promoting healthy behaviors both in and out of the school environment. Fundraisers that involve physical activity also are encouraged.
Companies and organizations that would like to be included in the resource guide are asked to contact Dawn Horton-Krack at 435-0202 or by email at dawn.horton-krack@evsc.k12.in.us by March 1. Please include the following information: business name; business contact person; brief description of product/service, including anticipated profit amount; phone number; email address; and website address.
