Closing is part of construction to accommodate federally-mandated runway project at Evansville Regional Airport
The Evansville-Vanderburgh Airport Authority District announced that a section of Oak Hill Road west of SR 57 up into the McCutchanville area will close on or after August 7, 2012 for approximately 30 days.
Either Petersburg Rd or Kansas Rd can be used as detours around this area.
The construction is related to a federally-mandated runway project that will shift Runway 4-22, the main runway at EVV, toward the northeast and away from the U.S. 41 and St. George Rd. intersection.
The S.R. 57 construction project has a reduced speed limit and may be targeted by the Indiana State Police for increased enforcement activities in an effort to reduce speeding in the work zone. INDOT encourages motorists to slow down and pay special attention while traveling in work zones throughout Indiana.
