Evansville, Ind. – If you needed to ask someone to tell you how to get to Sesame Street this weekend, chances are they might have directed you to Evansville’s Ford Center. The beloved characters of Sesame Street Live: Make a New Friend took the stage for five performances Friday, September 6 through Sunday, September 8. Many familiar life-sized furry monsters from the popular television show made appearances in a story about making new friends and appreciating the ones you have. Life lessons were accompanied by music, bright lights, dancing and more. During songs that parodied everything from Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” to the Bollywood staple “Jai Ho” many of the youngest members of the audience were out of their seats , bouncing and dancing along.

“Ford Center was the second stop of the tour of this brand new Sesame Street Live show, and we think it is a good sign that another family-oriented production company felt comfortable coming to Evansville so early on in their run,” said Executive Director Scott Schoenike. “We are looking forward to another full season of events for all ages here at the Ford Center.”

The Ford Center is gearing back up for a busy event season with Rascal Flatts October 12, Lady Antebellum November 10, and the Bill Gaither Christmas Homecoming Tour 2013 December 13. The Evansville IceMen hockey and the University of Evansville Men’s and Women’s basketball seasons will kick off in October.
