EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana Women’s Basketball Head Coach Rick Stein announced that 6-foot-4 center Audrey Turner (Fishers, Indiana) has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Screaming Eagles in 2017-18.

Turner is currently a senior at Fishers High School where she averaged 8.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game as a junior in 2015-16. She had a season-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds in FHS’s 58-41 win over Avon High School a year ago; while her 16 points, eight blocks and season-high 15 rebounds helped the Tigers to a 54-41 triumph over Indianapolis Arsenal Technical High School last season.

A true force in the middle, Turner had at least six blocks in five games during her junior season, with a season-best 11 coming in FHS’s 38-34 setback to Brownsburg High School.

“We are excited to welcome Audrey to our family here at USI,” Stein said. “With the loss of two senior posts after this season, we definitely needed to address the need for more depth in the paint.

“Audrey has shown that she can cause problems for the opposition with her length and shot-blocking ability,” Stein continued. “Audrey’s best basketball is ahead of her and we are excited to have the next four years to coach her.”
