(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Following nearly 28 hours of debate in the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Eighth District Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. voted to approve legislation as a part of the process to repeal Obamacare and replace it with patient-centered reforms that drive down costs and expand access to quality health care.

“We are on a rescue mission and if we don’t act now, families across the country will have nowhere to go as Obamacare continues in a death spiral,” said Bucshon.

“The American Health Care Act repeals the big-government mandates and costly taxes in the law and replaces it with common-sense reforms that lower costs, expand access, and uphold critical patient protections like coverage for preexisting conditions.

“This is truly a historic opportunity to fulfill our promise to the American people and we are committed to a thoughtful, transparent process to ensure we get this right on behalf of patients across the country. Our hearings this week represent the first step in the process to begin a stable transition to a patient-centered health care system.”

The American Health Care Act is undergoing a weeks-long, open and transparent process that includes the work of four separate House committees. This week, the legislation advanced through both the Energy and Commerce Committee, of which Dr. Bucshon is a member, and the Ways and Means Committee.

  1. Poor Larry, he made it through med school but in government he needs Ryan to tell him what to do. This is a train wreck of epic proportions. Trumpcare is even worse than Obamacare. Hope you folks that vote for this gentleman have enough money to get health care.

    • Like you’ve read “Trumpcare”? Like you read the dimwit Franken’s question transcript? Uh…NOT!

  2. Seldom Seen Larry Bucshon is the worst congressman the 8th District has had in many many years. He never groundhogs up unless it is through a press release like the one above. He is thin skinned, just like Trump, and likes to have opposition people physically removed from his infrequent ‘town halls’. Whoever wrote in Bucshon’s press release that the process for this sham bill was a ‘weeks-long, open and transparent process’ is a liar.

His vote has helped assure many needy folks will lose their healthcare. He is a disgrace to the medical profession and a waddling insult to the voters of the 8th District. Cashiering him should be a top priority for our newly invigorated Democratic party.

    • Maybe the newly invigorated Democrats can run Winnecke or Weinzapfel or Mary Poppins against him. He is a joke as a congressman, but you voted out the best congressman for the district eleven years ago for a Vectren puppet. Live with it.

      • ‘…but you voted out the best congressman for the district eleven years ago for a Vectren puppet. ‘ ~~ Infected

That statement is a lie. It is expected of you now and you never disappoint. Pay your Vectren bill, you pitiful troll, or they’ll send the wrench man out again to plunge you into darkness. Live with it.
