On May 1, around 11:00 p.m., The Evansville Police Department was called to 411 N. St. Joe Ave. for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Officers were told that the accident involved a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Witnesses told officers that the pedestrian was attempting to cross St. Joe Ave. when she was struck by a S.U.V. traveling north on St. Joe. After striking the pedestrian, the driver of the S.U.V. immediately stopped and was on scene when officers arrived.
Both driver and the pedestrian were transported to local hospitals. All presumptive tests for intoxicants involving the driver came back negative. There are no charges against the driver at this time.
The last known condition for the pedestrian was that she suffered from facial fractures, but was in stable condition.
