VANDERBURGH HUMANE SOCIETY HOSTING ONSITE “FALLTERNATIVE” FESTIVAL AT SHELTER

0

Due to the cancellation of the 2020 West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, the Vanderburgh Humane Society is facing yet another fundraising shortfall of more than $30,000. So now, a little bit of the Fall Festival is coming to the VHS!

Thursday-Saturday, October 8-10 from 10 am – 4 pm, the organization’s Fall Festival booth will be set up in the parking lot. Volunteers will be serving about 2/3 of the normal vegetarian menu, including:

  • fried mac & cheese
  • fried green beans
  • lemon and lemorange shake-ups
  • apple slices w/ caramel
  • banana bread muffins
  • 4 flavors of iced coffee

The facility will be open for Adoptions during those hours, and the Happy Tails Resale Shop will also be open for shopping all three days from 10-4. Normally the resale shop is only open on Saturdays.

The VHS serves more than 11,000 families and their pets each year. As a nonprofit organization that receives no taxpayer funding or financial support from any national organizations, they are depending on the community to help raise the $30,000 in lost Fall Festival revenue.
