EVANSVILLE, IN — November 17, 2023 — The Vanderburgh County Commissioners will host a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction for a new dog park at Burdette Park on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
Located conveniently at the heart of Burdette, near the new Oasis Playground, Burdette Bark will be open to everyone at no cost. It will be enclosed by a 6-foot-tall fence for safety and will have a designated area for dogs to enter and exit safely while other dogs play. Additionally, there will be water hydrants installed to ensure our canine friends have access to fresh, clean water whenever they visit.
The date of Burdette Bark’s grand opening will be announced later as the project completion is weather-dependent.
The Commissioners express their gratitude to the Vanderburgh County Highway Department for their crucial support. The Department’s workforce, along with Burdette’s staff, are providing all the necessary labor for this project.
