The University of Southern Indiana will present “Human Trafficking in Indiana – Identification, Recognition, and Reporting” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30 in Wright Administration (WA) 3. The presentation will recognize January as Human Trafficking Awareness Month and is open to the public at no charge.

The presentation will teach attendees how to define human trafficking, recognize different forms of human trafficking and exploitation, understand the scope of the problem in Indiana and identify one’s active role in anti-trafficking efforts.

“We hope this presentation will help attendees understand what this issue looks like in Indiana,” says Catherine Champagne, Assistant Program Director for Student Wellness. “They will learn about resources that exist at the local level to prevent human trafficking.”

The presentation is organized by the USI Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Group in collaboration with the Indiana Trafficking Victims Assistance Program and Southwest Indiana Regional Coalition Against Trafficking.
