Michael Strezewski, USI assistant professor of anthropology, will present a lecture on the everyday lives of the Harmonists at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Thrall’s Opera House, 612 Church Street in New Harmony. Strezewski led USI’s Archaeological Field School since 2008. In “A Walk through New Harmony: 1820,” he will combine his research with data from the 1820 census and contemporary maps to construct a picture of the town and its residents in the early 19th century. For more information, contact Missy Parkison, community engagement manager for Historic New Harmony, at mparkison@usi.edu or 682-4488. Historic New Harmony is a unified program of the University of Southern Indiana and the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites.
