Flowers on the Lake annual ceremony to commemorate lives lost to domestic violence

The USI Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Committee will host the annual Flowers on the Lake ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 18 in front of the Liberal Arts Center. The ceremony, held in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, is open to the public at no charge.

2022 Latinx Heritage Month keynote to feature award-winning spoken word poet

The USI Multicultural Center, in partnership with the USI Activities Programming Board, will present “Embracing Our Identity, Culture & History” by Carlos Andrés Gómez from 6 to 8 p.m. October 19 in Carter Hall, located in University Center West. This event will honor Latinx Heritage Month and is open to the public at no charge.

Midnight Madness to kick off inaugural Division I USI Basketball season

The annual USI Midnight Madness event will return Thursday, October 20 to the Screaming Eagles Arena to introduce the inaugural Division I USI Women’s and Men’s Basketball teams.

LA Faculty Colloquia presentation to feature poetry reading by Dr. Rosalie Moffett

The USI College of Liberal Arts will host a virtual Faculty Colloquia presentation featuring Dr. Rosalie Moffett, Assistant Professor of English, at 3 p.m. Friday, October 21.

USI student talent to be showcased at the annual Live at the Apollo event on October 29

The University of Southern Indiana Multicultural Center is set to host its annual Live at the Apollo event at 6 p.m. Saturday, October 29 in the USI Performance Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the event is open to the public at no charge.

USI alumna named 2023 Indiana Teacher of the Year

Tara Cocanower ’07, a U.S. history and Advanced Placement (AP) World History teacher at Bluffton High School, has been named the 2023 Indiana Teacher of the Year by the Indiana Department of Education.
