Two arrested after home invasion robbery

Evansville Police arrested two men for their involvement in a home invasion robbery at 1132 Bayard Park Dr early this morning. Police located 21 year old ANDREW LEE BARNETT and 39 year old TERRY TERELL ADAMS Sr shortly after they fled the scene.

The victim told investigators that he had lived with the two suspects at one point, but now lives at a different residence. Around 12:15 this morning, the two suspects entered the victim’s home uninvited and demanded money they felt they were owed. ADAMS displayed a knife and demanded the money or the victim’s television. ADAMS wife had come to the home with him and took the knife away from him.

The dispute continued and all of the involved parties went outside. The victim told investigators that BARNETT showed a handgun and tried to strike him with it. ADAMS and BARNETT then fled in a car. An officer responding to the call saw the car on Washington near Kentucky.

When the officer pulled the car over, BARNETT ran on foot. He was captured a short distance away. Officer found a handgun on the ground where BARNETT ran. ADAMS was arrested during the car stop.

Charges:
BARNETT- Robbery armed with a knife B felony, Burglary while armed B felony, Possession of a handgun without a permit “A” misdemeanor, Resisting Law Enforcement “A” misdemeanor.

ADAMS- Robbery armed with a knife B felony, Burglary while armed B felony, Intimidation with a weapon C felony.
