“It feels good to give and we are pleased to offer fundraising opportunities to our employees,†Executive Director of Human Resources Bill Plahn explains. “Traditionally, we set aside two days each month as ‘Jeans Days’.â€
On Jeans Days, departmental dress codes are relaxed so that employees may donate to a pre-selected charity thereby earning the right to come to work casually clad in blue denim.
For September, the company proudly announces a $500 gift to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through combined contributions of Team Members and Tropicana Evansville.
St. Jude’s is the well-known Memphis, Tennessee, pediatric cancer research and treatment hospital founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962. While there is no charge to the patient, operational costs for the hospital run about $2.4 million per day.
In October, Tropicana Evansville employees will be wearing jeans to support It Takes a Village Canine Rescue.
