The Tri-State Manufacturers’ Alliance will host the Q1 Event: Work-Based Learning – Solving Mfg. Workforce Needs at Deaconess Hospital – Johnson Hall starting at 7:30am on March 12.

Join us for an interactive dialogue outlining what exactly is Work-Based Learning.

Discover how internships, earn and learn programs and apprenticeships can help solve your workforce needs, how your company or education provider can benefit from the new Indiana Graduation Pathways, or seek program advice and technical assistance, and learn the benefits of forming public-private partnerships. Following the discussion engage in a hands-on working session where you will be guided through the next steps towards success.

Executive Director, Darrel Zeck, and Senior Director, Carrie Lively, from The Office of Work-Based Learning and Apprenticeship provide an interactive dialogue outlining what exactly is Work-Based Learning. Newly established as part of Governor Holcomb’s NextLevel Agenda, The Office of Work-Based Learning and Apprenticeship serves to develop and implement a framework of various work-based learning pathways for both youth and adult populations.

To accomplish, the office focuses on three objectives:

  • First, coordinate efforts and partner with the U.S. Department of Labor to expand registered apprenticeships.
  • Second, develop flexible and scalable programs that focus on the state’s key economic sectors and regional high-wage, high-demand occupations.
  • Third, build public-private partnerships to increase business and industry engagement with education systems.
