  1. Each year, for many years now, I have avoided going to the circus because I think forcing animals to perform is a disgusting abuse of God’s beauty. It is not natural and I abhor it.
I also make a generous donation to Shriners Hospitals for Children. They do great nand marvelous things.
If it were not for the animals, I would heartily enjoy the circus.

    • Atlas, thank you for standing up for the circus animals.. I have said that repeatedly on the CCO and been put down for it. I believe that circuses are gradually (too gradually) decreasing the use and abuse of animals and it cannot come too soon. I was taken to a circus at a very young age and even then felt great concern and sympathy for all the animals. If fact, I have not been to a circus in many many years. I refuse to support them. The shriners need to find a much better way to earn money for their cause, a definitely worthy one indeed. It is so sad how many youngsters in Evansville have grown up being taken to the circus learning that such animal treatment is okay and that wild animals are to be managed in that manner. When will people grow and change beyond such atrocities? Evansville must embrace change, but it really isn’t very good at that.
