Today,9 students at Stockwell Elementary School will participate in the Indiana Geological Survey’s Quake Cottage program. The Quake Cottage mimics the shaking experienced during earthquakes that have magnitudes ranging from 3.0 to 7.0. It allows students to learn about the science of earthquakes as well as how to take steps to protect themselves for an earthquake. The event is part of the Great American Shakeout taking place worldwide tomorrow that encourages individuals to practice earthquake safety.
