On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, Steve Davis will file his candidacy for City Council to represent the 2nd Ward of Evansville as a Democrat at 4:00 pm in the Vanderburgh County Election Office on the second floor of the Civic Center.

Steve is a 1991 graduate of F.J. Reitz High School and a Journeyman Carpenter, graduating from his carpentry apprenticeship program in 1996. He also received Associate Degrees in Business Management and Arts in 2004 from American Intercontinental University. Steve is employed by CSX Railroad and in 2012 earned Federal Railroad Administration Certifications as a Conductor and Remote Control Operator.

Jacob Davis is 21 years old and Steve’s oldest son. Jacob is an Army Reservist and employed by Berry Plastics. Jacob is married to Alexandria, and they have Steve’s first grandchild, Jameson, who is just a few months old. Joshua Davis is Steve’s youngest son at 18 years old and is a student and NCAA Division 2 wrestler at Lake Erie College.

Steve is the younger brother of the late Rick Davis, former Vanderburgh Co. Treasurer and Democrat candidate for Mayor in 2011. Steve is a dedicated Democrat and has worked within the Democrat Party for various candidates over the last 10 years. He understands that no party membership always agree, but that disputes are to be resolved privately and not at the expense of other members or their families. Steve is running to help bring back unity to City Council and respect for the Democrat Party and stated, “No one member of City Council is so important that they can publicly attack other members, and the future of Evansville depends on putting differences aside to work for progress in the community.”

  1. Haha. LKB, please, I can’t wait to hear how you think this guy is qualified. First of all, he doesn’t even live in the 2nd Ward, just renting an apartment. Second, “believes dispute should be handled privately without expense to others and their families.” This is coming from a guy that has, on multiple occasions, talked crap about some members of the Democrats on Facebook. The fact that he’s facing a Democrat incumbent shows he doesn’t care about disputes in his party. To be honest, I think it’s sort of sick that he is using his brothers name to try to gain political motivations.

    Just wow.
