Some Democrats Dispute Claims

Update: Correction Statement

https://city-countyobserver.com/2011/10/27/clarification-and-correction-on-democrat-power-broker-meeting/

Several Democrats who participated in this mornings meeting at the Vanderburgh Democratic Headquarters have disputed our earlier report that any discussions were held regarding secession from the Indiana Democratic Party or endorsement of Republican Lloyd Winnecke for Mayor of Evansville.

The City County Observer has multiple statements from direct participants on both sides of these issues. As one of the reasons for calling the meeting was to offer Democrats an opportunity to express confidence in 4th Ward City Councilwoman Connie Robinson with regard to her recent endorsement of Mr. Winnecke we are quite confident that an endorsement discussion did take place.

With respect to succession from the Indiana Democratic Party, as strange as this may seem we can still report that people are supporting both that it was discussed and that it was not. No official agenda of the meeting has been released to the press nor have the meetings minutes been released.

  1. First of all the word is “secession,” not “succession” or any other ignorantly spelled version of the word that means “a withdrawal from an organization.”

Secondly, and once again for those who apparently have extremely thick skulls or severely clogged ears, there was no discussion of the local party withdrawing from the state Democrat party.

And once again I will state unequivocably that there was no discussion of drafting a letter for those who attended to sign as an endorsement of Lloyd Winnecke for Mayor of Evansville.

I don’t care how you try to reword or slant your message, those two things did not happen and anyone who says they did is lying.

Keep trying though. But all that results from the effort is you coming off as a shill for politicians who are using this medium as an outlet to misrepresent themselves as the lilly white knights of Evansville’s political salvation when in reality it’s only one old fart’s last gasp attempt at king making.

    • Clovis-Della,Della-Clovis,—Whatever, just a Darkside Democrat Robot. I must say though, thats a hell of a program that the King and his co-hart have written for the “bot” to spew,—over, and over and over,–reminds one of the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz,—“if I only had a brain” (of her own).

    • Connie….is that you? I think you could be starting to give away your identity. 😉

      JMHO

      • The competence and maturity level of Clovis strikes me more as an Alex Jarvis than a Connie Robinson.

  2. If they had only thought to invite more Democrats to their 8:15 am coffee cake meeting at the Democratic HQ called by operative and apparent acting Chairman Jarvis, more people would know what was said or not said. They only have themselves to blame for yet again more secret closed door meetings, like the secret Mayors Aprils Fools day tax grab meeting after which no one has yet agreed what was said or not said.

  3. Are you asserting that the Darkside Democrat’s (Central Committee)
“Omerta” creed has not broken down?

  4. There’s nothing I like better than the Democrat-ic Party of Vandverburgh County imploding less than two weeks before election day. This is no longer a party, it’s the consequences of an over-the-top, corrupt bozo who ran this town into the ground. Whiney-Zappel hasn’t been mayor for over seven and a half years, he’s still the same dumb-butt college kid he was at USI. And now we are paying the price for the stupidity of the Democrat-ic Party and the Courier hanging onto him for about seven years too long.

The Democrat-ic Party in this town won’t heal its wounds until Whiney-Boy moves his family up to Indy for good.

    • I couldn’t agree more.
In my opinion: The Arena was Jonathon’s core mistake.
Channel 14 WFIE is airing a special tonight at 10:00pm.
      “THE FORD CENTER-GAIN OR PAIN”
If JW were to be honest for once, I’m quite sure he would admit to the pain of it all. His political career, those of his collaborators and now the party itself are hurting.
I, for one will welcome the day when Weinzapfel retreats to Indy. I only wish is legacy of pain would go with him. …

      • Really? We figured it would be the city’s insistence on drug testing for your department

    • Unfortunately, Lloyd “the Collaborator” Winnecke will be there to put it all back together again if he somehow manages to win.

Like it or not, Davis is really Evansville’s only hope at this point.

      • Please take a look at their website. Then take a look at Rick’s.

        Winnecke’s communicates professionalism.

Davis’s communicates no experience and someone wrote it all for him. Plus, Davis’s website looks and sounds like the C&P put it together. Biased and ill-informed.

        • You’re right. I’ve changed my mind and am now voting for Winnecke because he had the money to pay for a slickly produced website.

How could I have been so shallow as to care about things like integrity, truth, and transparency?

          • I try to stay off of the comments, but couldn’t resist. Actually, Winnecke’s website was designed by a volunteer. Davis paid for his. Way to make another incorrect assumption.

          • Id –
the bottom of Winnecke’s website pretty clearly shows that it came from the “win with wordpress” website.

            http://winwithwp.com/plans/

He most certainly paid for his website design and its’ features.

He may have a volunteer maintaining it, but he paid for the site itself…either that or they stole the design from winwithwp.com and were too dumb to remove the copyright information at the bottom.
