Shoe Carnival Presents 7th Annual Walk The Runway, Benefiting Vanderburgh County CASA

Bringing awareness and raising funds to advocate for the 900 children affected by abuse and neglect in our community, is the goal of the 7th Annual Walk the Runway. This event is the only one of its kind as it spotlights the children we serve, CASA volunteers, board members, and community leaders on the fashion runway. Enjoy appetizers, drinks, a silent auction and a runway show donned with fall fashion and trends by Shoe Carnival.

On September 20, in the new Riverfront Pavilion at Tropicana, models of all ages will take the runway stage and model footwear and accessories provided by Shoe Carnival. This is the 7th year that Shoe Carnival has supported CASA in this annual fundraiser, which is also CASA’s largest fundraiser. “Our focus at Shoe Carnival has always been about family, therefore, being the title sponsor for “Walk the Runway” the past seven years is a natural fit.   The Vanderburgh County CASA mission of being the voice of neglected and abused children in our community is very important to us at Shoe Carnival” stated Cliff Sifford, CEO at Shoe Carnival.

“This event wouldn’t be possible without Shoe Carnival,” explained Suzanne Draper. “They take care of every detail of the runway show and have been our biggest supporter. They have helped an unsurmountable amount of children over the last 7 years” said Draper.

The mission of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is to be a voice in court for the children that are involved in the juvenile court system, due to neglect or abuse by their parent or guardian. CASA opened its doors in Vanderburgh County in 1984. They currently have 180 volunteers advocating for 436 children, but there are 462 children on the waiting list for a CASA Volunteer.

If you go to Walk the Runway, you will have the opportunity to be inspired by the struggles and successes as our volunteers and children bravely take the stage to share their stories of hope. The 7th Annual Walk the Runway will be an evening of great food, fun and trending fashion, but you will leave with a sense of promise for children in our community and the amazing volunteers who advocate for them
