Rising Fuel Prices Could Cause Surge in Airfare

If you’re flying American Airlines out of Evansville you could be paying more thanks to those rising fuel prices.

American Airlines CEO Doug Parker says if that trend continues flyers will likely pay higher ticket prices.

American’s first-quarter profits were down and the company is paying 40 cents a gallon more for fuel now than it was a year ago.

The airline also cut its forecast of profit for 2018 to between five and six dollars per share down 50 cents from January.

  1. Remember when one of our bigges welfare queens (the oil industry) ask congress to allow them to export oil and congress approved that request (Seldom Seen Larry) with the understanding it would not affect domistic oil prices? Just think, we are allowing them to drill on our public lands for a very small fee, pay no to little taxes, and we get stuck with high fuel costs. Please continue to vote for the Republicans or anyone that supports the status quo because WE are really concerned about poor folks getting our money.
