USI President Linda L. M. Bennett, Marsha Abell, president of the Vanderburgh County Commission, and Cheryl Musgrave, president of Keep Evansville Beautiful and former president of the County Commission, will offer brief remarks. Other individuals and public officials who have supported the project over the years will be in attendance.
If it rains, the event will be held at Burdette Park’s Discovery Lodge.
The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
The USI-Burdette Trail was designated as a National Recreation Trail by the Secretary of the Interior in 2008. This trail also is part of the American Discovery Trail (ADT) that passes through Indiana as part of the “Crossroad of America.” For more information, go to www.usi.edu/trails.
