Reynolds Selected To Lead USI Men’s Golf Program

The University of Southern Indiana men’s golf program will be under new leadership for the 2018-19 campaign with the selection of Mike Reynolds to take the helm as the seventh head coach in the program’s history.

“I am excited to have Mike join our staff. I know our men’s golf program will make great strides under his leadership,” said USI Director of Athletics Jon Mark Hall. “He has shown a definite passion for golf, especially as a mentor.”

In conjunction with being USI men’s golf coach, Reynolds is the Eagle Valley Golf Course general manager/director of golf, holding the position since 2017. He also was the Director of Golf at the Evansville Country Club (2003-16) before joining the staff at Eagle Valley.

Reynolds was the Head Golf Professional at The Tournament Players Club at Piper Glen in Charlotte, N.C., between 1999-2002, and Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory, N.C. between, 1996-99. He started his career in management of golf operations at the Augusta Country Club, in Augusta, Ga., acting as the club’s Head Golf Professional from 1986-96.

During his career, Reynolds has been instrumental in teaching, coaching, and mentoring his junior golf students in obtaining athletic/academic scholarships at many major colleges and universities. He has developed and administered teaching programs that has produced 10 state champions, three national champions, two college champions (including the 1993, 1994, 1995 Rolex Junior All-Americans), and the number-one rated junior player (Charles Howell III).
