    by Wendy McNamara

This week our community in Posey County received significant damage after a severe storm passed through, uprooting trees and destroying homes. During this difficult time, we can help our neighbors in several ways, including sharing information about helpful resources.

As cleanup efforts are underway, it’s important to report severe storm damage from April 2 by calling Indiana 211 at 866-211-9966 or visiting here. This number can also be used if you have any unmet needs like shelter, food or medication.
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security will use these reports to determine damage estimates and develop the next course of action in the disaster recovery process.
Agricultural damage should be reported to the Purdue Extension – Posey County by calling 812-838-1331 or visiting here.
