  1. I sure hope that Press is in Church this morning! Do they allow texting while in Church? I sure hope not. Yesterday was hard to take. 🙂

    • What we should hope for is that the CCO “grows a pair” and bans this “posting on your own post” unless it is a correction! One can just watch those 24/7 so call news channels and see all this same trash that is being posted here! I’m surprise we have not seen those ads for us to send money to Trumps campaign to defeat Hillary and Obama! November cannot get here soon enough.

  2. THE AMERICAN THINKER

    September 18, 2016
Does America Have an ‘Official’ Morality?
    By Jon N. Hall

Former Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is a socialist. So were Lenin, Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and a host of other charming fellows. But Sanders makes a distinction, he stresses that he’s a “democratic socialist.” You see, Bernie needs some criterion to separate the good socialists, like him, from the moral monsters.

Bernie likes to make grand pronouncements about morality; what’s moral and what’s immoral. Bernie thinks “acting on climate change a moral obligation.” Bernie thinks that it is immoral as well as unjust that our government doesn’t provide healthcare for all; after all, all those socialist European nations provide it. He thinks America’s level of “income inequality is immoral,” not to mention “grotesque.” Sanders even had the chutzpah to go to the Vatican to preach about the “immorality of unfettered capitalism.” One might conclude that if Sanders is against it, then it’s got to be immoral.

Not all that long ago, the American left would call out anyone who dared to make a “value judgment.” Back then there was no right and wrong; “moral relativism” was all the rage. But now the Left hurls moral accusations with abandon. So here’s a question for them: Does America have an “official” morality?

Has the American federal government instituted a morality? If so, where did they get this “government morality”? We have laws against murder, rape, and theft, but it’s not really necessary that lawmakers cleave to any ethical system in order to pass such laws. There are many immoral things that are perfectly legal in America; e.g. you can choose to waste your life, and government won’t stop you.

Invoking the language of morality (and perhaps deliberately glomming onto the old rhetorical device of the “parade of horribles”), Hillary Clinton has repeatedly called Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables.” To applause and laughter at a recent fundraiser, Clinton said that “half” of Trump supporters were “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it.”

In condemning millions of Americans, Mrs. Clinton is clearly making a moral judgment, but by whose lights? Which moral system is Clinton invoking? If it is a moral system created by those in government, then we can change that moral system, even junk it. For Clinton, if one is against “gay marriage,” then one is homophobic. If one is against the importation of thousands of Syrian refugees who can’t be properly vetted, then one is a racist, a xenophobe, and a hater of Muslims. If one thinks “abortion on demand” is sinful or that the millions of abortions since 1973 are a tragedy, then one hates women, wants to keep them down. In other words, if you don’t think like a progressive, you’re immoral.

I say that Clinton’s plan to import thousands of poorly-vetted Syrian “refugees” is immoral; worse than that, it’s stupid. And we were put in this situation because of the foreign policy of Clinton, who now presumes to lead us. (If Clinton had any morality she would have resigned from State when it became clear that Obama wasn’t going to do nothing in response to the crossing of his “red line.”)

Considering all the murder and mayhem brought to our shores by those calling themselves Muslims, it is rather rich for the moral midgets of the Left to express contempt for Americans who have what they call “Islamophobia.”

America does not have an official morality. All we have is the law. And the law is merely what the majority agrees to. It’s against the law to take the life of one’s wife in an “honor killing.” But if one follows sharia, that’s perfectly moral, and perhaps even required. So if one is a Muslim living in America, one can’t entirely follow one’s moral code. But maybe someday “honor killings” will be legal in America. And maybe the genital mutilation of young girls will not only be legal but required. But don’t tell us those practices are moral.

Here’s what the Left just can’t grasp: Unless a moral system is handed down from something higher than us humans, we’re just making it up.

Which is to say, without Something Higher revealing it to us, a moral system is something we invent. Perhaps we invent a morality because it seems reasonable to us. Or maybe it’s because we want to grab the moral high ground so we can accuse our ideological enemies of being “irredeemable,” as Mrs. Clinton did.

But can we hold Hillary to a moral code? She seems incapable of recognizing that she is a chronic liar. Maybe she’s ill.

The Left’s moralizing has become so tedious that it’s become a joke. We see TV wits archly accusing each other of being racist (or some kind of “-ist”) for virtually everything. In her “deplorables” speech, Mrs. Clinton referred to the “LGBT” community, omitting the required “Q.” (It’s LGBTQ, lady. What are you, some kind of closet homophobe?)

If everything is immoral, nothing is immoral. But how moral is our government? At more than a trillion bucks, the government-backed debt racked up by college students is now bigger than credit card debt. Bernie Sanders wants to “forgive” that debt. Is that moral? How moral are those trillion-dollar deficits that Pelosi, Reid, and Obama racked up?

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are moral pygmies, and self-righteous ones at that. But let’s not call them “irredeemable,” that would be unkind.

    • I dislike the practice of copying and pasting long-winded quotes, so this is the shortest reply to debunk the above idiocy PAK has inflicted on us.

Hitler, Nazis, Socialism, and Rightwing Propaganda

      David Klein
      January 2011

For several years, the right wing has been equating nazism, the left, and socialism. This is standard propaganda for Fox News and the Tea Party which both denounce Obama as a socialist and at the same time portray him visually with a Hitler mustache. Conservatives have also argued that Jared Loughner — the shooter of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords — was influenced by leftwing ideology because his reading list included both Das Kapital by Karl Marx and Hitler’s Mein Kampf (without mentioning another book on his list, We the Living, by Ayn Rand).

The conflation of nazism and socialism has gone largely unchallenged by the media, and through repetition it is becoming almost “common knowledge” in the US, so I feel compelled to speak against it. I hope that others, especially professors who have occasion to talk about it in and out of class, will also speak against this vile propaganda.

The basis of the conflation of nazism and socialism is the term “National Socialism,” a self description of the Nazis. “National Socialism” includes the word “socialism”, but it is just a word. Hitler and the Nazis outlawed socialism, and executed socialists and communists en masse, even before they started rounding up Jews. In 1933, the Dachau concentration camp held socialists and leftists exclusively. The Nazis arrested more than 11,000 Germans for “illegal socialist activity” in 1936.

In the 1930s and even beyond, nazism, in sharp contrast to socialism, was strongly supported by leading capitalists and right wingers in the US. Henry Ford, the leading industrialist and auto maker, was a great admirer of the nazis. When Henry Ford announced that he might run for president in 1923, the little-known Hitler told the Chicago Tribune that he would like to send shock troops to Chicago to assist in the campaign. Later in 1938, the year of Kristallnacht, Ford was awarded the Grand Cross of the German Eagle, the highest civilian award given by the nazis. Ford accepted it with pride, and Ford’s company collaborated with the nazis as late as August 1942. General Motors, Standard Oil, ITT, and Chase National Bank (later Chase Manhattan Bank) among others also had major financial investments and collaborations with Nazi Germany.

      J. Edgar Hoover, the first director of the FBI (and virulently anti-communist) was a great admirer of the nazis and was a pen pal of Heinrich Himmler (Reichsfuhrer of the Nazi SS, head of the Gestapo, and second most powerful leader of the Nazi party). Hoover sent Himmler a personal invitation to attend the 1937 World Police Conference in Montreal, and in 1938 welcomed one of Himmler’s top aids to the U.S. In June 1939, when the Nazi SS was conducting savage attacks against Jews, Gypsies, and homosexuals throughout Germany, Hoover personally autographed a photo of himself and sent it in response to a request, to KRIPO, the Nazi criminal police agency. He continued communication with Nazi police until December 4, 1941 (three days before Pearl Harbor).*

Nazism is a right wing ideology. It is violently racist, anti-socialist, and it targets the political left for extermination. This is underscored by Albert Einstein’s embrace of socialism throughout his life — and in particular in his 1949 essay, Why Socialism? — along with the fact that Einstein’s name was included on a nazi death list with a bounty of $50,000 offered for his assassination. If nazism really is socialism, why would Einstein have identified himself as a socialist a scant four years after WWII?

The current right wing conflation of nazism and the left is sleazy. A more informed population would view this as completely idiotic, but unfortunately this propaganda is becoming increasingly effective.

      • I hate to burst your Hillary kool aid bubble this morning, but your major problem stems from the liberal’s inability to admit that our form of government is a “CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC” and NOT the “democracy” mob rule that liberals long for.

        https://youtu.be/VybWkpt_3Jo

        • For the pass several decades, our form of government has been “Chamber of Commerce”!

          • Get rid of the Chamber of Commerce influence in government, and infections of the likes
of the ERC will go away on it’s own!

  3. I want to say about the violent acts that occurred over the country over the last several days.
First for all the victims I pray for a speedy and full recovery.
The criminals who committed these crimes. I hope for a quick capture.
To the off-duty armed police officer that stopped the attacks in the mall in St Cloud MN. Thank you for Being alert and carrying a firearm stopping the mad man.

  4. I see that the “Stop Spammer” has returned to CCO. I can’t help but wonder if PAK’s posts are greeted by that annoyance.

    • We got your message Laura, any Hoosier who does not agree with you and Hillary is white trash. Your word, right?

      • No. I said that a lot of Hoosiers qualify as “white trash”. The uneducated and racists are generally Trump supporters, as the polling shows.

        • You are an elitist just as your candidate Hillary Clinton is an elitist. 591,514 Hoosiers voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 Primary Election. You are saying that all of them are white trash?

    • By the 8th of November, 2016, Donald Trump will have pulled way ahead, and Hillary Clinton will have dropped precipitously. It will not even be close.

  5. A Somali father has identified his 22 year old son, in our country on an F1 visa as a college student, as the attacker in the Minnesota mall attack.

    The you have this:

F1 visa students may be allowed to work for 6 years in the USA, like H-1B visa holders
    Dec 29, 2015

NEW YORK: Even as it’s got stymied in efforts to give legal status to millions of illegal aliens, the Barack Obama administration seems to be in overdrive to give additional benefits and work permits to legal residents. And at the same time to adhere to the tech industry demands to open up avenues for more skilled workers from overseas to compete for jobs here.
Close on the heels of granting work permits to certain H-4 visa holders who meet eligibility requirements, come news of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) moving forward with proposals to expand the work authorization period for international students on F1 visas once they graduate, known technically as OPT (Optional Practical Training), and make it the same as for H-1B visa workers: a total of six years.

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

It seems that there is no vetting of these applicants or any coordination between on just who, or how many of these people should be allowed in this country.

The Obama administration’s foreign policy is just one large cluster f##k. Neither Hillary nor Lurch should ever have been in charge of the State Department.

  6. barry hussein and his anti America radical left minions are without a doubt destroying America…………Mr Trump law And Order 2016 and beyond…………….Border Culture language……………………….liberalism is wthout a doubt a mental disorder……..

  7. I’m certainly glad to see that our local bird cage liner rag and the local talking head video blogs have reported in depth about the stabbings at the shopping mall in Minnesota and the explosion in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.
Yeo, right of top of breaking news. Probably covering the breaking news at the Jazz & Wine Fest (after they figure out that the Old National Events Plaza IS the Centre).
