We hope that today’s “READERS FORUM” will provoke honest and open dialogue concerning issues that we, as responsible citizens of this community, need to address in a rational and responsible way.

WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND TODAY?

Todays “Readers Poll’ question is: Do you feel its time for the taxpayers of this community to start holding our public officials accountable for their bad business decisions?

  1. Trump at the kickoff rally last night reminded me of a fat dumb ass white suit wearing grinning Idi Amin about ready to be tossed from power.

He’s a damn fool. Looks it too.

    • Our neighbor drives an hour to work at Jasper Transmission in his rusted Toyota 4-runner, patched up old muffler that lets you know he’s leaving and coming home. He’s a fork lift guy. Never mows his lawn. Tall weeds instead of a lawn. House has that clear saran wrap on the windows, crap everywhere in the yard. He’s got like 4 Trump signs all along the front. Wouldn’t you know, last fall, his garage burned down, and he hauled the crap out of it cause the roof collapsed. He was bragging he had insurance though. And when he got his check, instead of fixing the garage, he bought a lift kit for the old piece of crap Toyota. Burned up insulation is all over the place, he walks through that crap every morning to get in his 4-runner.

      • You two are a breath of fresh air. THANK YOU, ignore the comment from whatever casserole is smoking. You are doing a world of good by telling the truth

  2. I look forward to 4 more years. 4 more years of a good economy. 4 more years of record unemployment.
I don’t agree with him on certain matters. I wish he was a little more presidential. Listening to the other candidates promising everything under the sun is a little mind numbing.
    4 more years.

    • No. Jasper is right.
He looks like a damn fool.

And you say you don’t like people who make empty promises?

      I don’t believe you Soul!

That’s all Trump is made of. Empty liar.
Last night was the same lies, and you believe it again?

Said there’d be a big new wall and Mexico would pay for it. He made that promise over and over again.
It was the biggest promise. Over, and over again he said it.

Promised he’d repeal and replace Obamacare. Empty again.

No. Trump is fat, and a fool. And so are you if you believe those empty promises.

    • …the USA Today/Suffolk University survey showed 49 percent of Americans approving of the job Trump’s doing as president, with 48 percent giving him a thumbs down.

That’s a more positive showing for Trump compared with other recent polling of his presidential approval rating.

And in the new survey, 49 percent of voters predicted Trump would win re-election, with 38 percent pointing to a victory by the eventual Democratic presidential nominee. Further, the poll indicated that if the November 2020 general election were held today, the president would narrowly edge an unnamed Democratic nominee — 40-37 percent, with 9 percent supporting an unnamed third-party candidate and 14 percent undecided.

That result differs from other recent national and early primary and caucus voting state polls, which indicate Trump trailing some of the leading Democratic White House hopefuls in hypothetical general election matchups. Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign manager has slammed such non-partisan surveys as “the biggest joke in politics,” and the president frequently rails against them.

      • Trump is saying the same things as 4 years ago.
        They’re the same broken promises.
        He’s lost my vote.
        Had his chance.
        It’s over.
