“READERS FORUM” FEBRUARY 8, 2018

WHATS ON YOUR MIND TODAY?

We hope that today’s “Readers Forum” will provoke honest and open dialogue concerning issues that we, as responsible citizens of this community, need to address in a rational and responsible way?
HERE IS WHATS ON OUR MIND TODAY:
We are extremely pleased to learn that 5th Ward City Councilman Justin Elpers will try to strike down the unreasonable “3-Minute Governmental Censorship” rule created by former City Council President Missy Mosby.  The “3-Minutes Governmental Censorship” rule was strictly enforced by President Mosby and several Council members on citizens of this community. When citizens of this community happened to speak over three (3) minutes at a City Council meeting they were told to stop speaking and sit down. This rule doesn’t allow enough time for people addressing council to make their point and needs to be repealed.
Members of the Evansville City Council will have a final vote on this “Governmental Censorship” issue on February, 26th, 2018.  we urge you to join Councilman Elpers attempt to strike down this unreasonable rule that is presently being enforced on citizens of this community at City Council meetings.  We believe that putting an unreasonable time limit on speech at any Governmental meeting should never be allowed in a freedom loving society? We give five (5) cheers to Councilman Justin Elpers for doing the right thing for the citizens of Evansville!
Todays “Readers Poll” question is: Do you feel that the Evansville City Council should resend the “3-Minutes Governmental Censorship” speaking rule?

  1. Justin Elpers seems to be doing a good job on Council. Maybe he can ask for an update on the City’s collection of the McCurdy’s $750,000 long overdue water bill. None of the other lemmings on Council would ever ask that.

    • Same old crap. Same people. Different day.

Joe, every day, just post: “I hate immigrants.”

      • I hate illegal immigrants dumb ass…………………..…MAGA TRUMP jobless claim 45 yr low😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁…….MAGA ……………..

        • As usual, al “Dumb As A Bag Of Hammers” sharpie comes on and proves to the world what a village idiot he is. The ONLY reason jobless claims are low is that President Obama rescued the American economy even when he was obstructed by right-wing dumbasses (like al sharpie) for his two terms. President Obama rescued the economy after the disastrous financial meltdown at the end of the Bush terms. Jobless claims have been declining for years, and Trump inherited the good trends. He sure as hell is not the person who helped formulate the economic engine that allowed us to have reduced unemployment.

Hey al, maybe you should tell us about how the stock market is TANKING while village idiot Trump runs to play golf again. For the last 12 months we have watched Cheeto Hitler take credit every time the stock market got a good bump upwards, so let the orange buffoon take the blame for the tanking of the stock market. If Drumpf gets credit for the rise of the market, then he sure as hell gets the blame for the plummeting market this week.

Or maybe you can enlighten us how Trump promised he would never golf while President because he would be “too busy” but has managed to wasted tens of MILLIONS in expenses in his wasteful and shameful use of Air Force One.

PS – Alan, you are correct, Joe and al and Dannnnn all post the same old tired crap every day. I sure wish the CCO page had a Spam button so we could hide the crap we are forced to endure

      • Same old crap. Same people. Different day.
Alan James, every day, just say: I don’t know the difference between an illegal alien and an immigrant. You might add: I don’t give a dam what happens to our country as long as it’s the dems’ idea.

        • Last time I looked, you hate Republicans too, Mr. C. This old “no I just hate some Republicans like the Republican Speaker of the House, the Republican Senate Majority Leader” from you is pure lies. You aint no Republican.

  2. When I was first teaching at ISUE, my chairperson had what she called the 15 minute rule for faculty meetings. If you couldn’t introduce, explain and ask for support and answer questions in 15 minutes, you had to postpone bringing your topic up until the next meeting. When I became chair, I continued the basic idea. It then “forced” all of us to have our presentations tight and forced us to be well prepared.
While 3 minutes is too short a time period, I don’t see anything wrong with having a limit placed on presentations.

  3. The SW Indiana Chamber of Commerce has a new Leader, Tara Barney. Wonderful. The Republican Party is dominating American public policy and legislation. The Tax Bill was 100% Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan’s doing. The GOP donor base – especially the Koch Brothers, the GOP national Chamber of Commerce support, the GOP Business Community that got the biggest, permanent tax cut in US History, major winners. Trump is showing up claiming he’s doing this, but Mitch McConnell is telling him where to sit.

  4. Rats fleeing a sinking ship of corruption:

Another longtime Comey aide leaving FBI

“Kortan also was front and center during the Hillary Clinton email investigation, and especially in July 2016 — coordinating media coverage and handing out copies of Comey’s public statement recommending against criminal charges in the investigation into mishandling of classified information. Kortan more recently surfaced in text messages released between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

While those texts have drawn attention for their anti-Trump sentiments, Kortan also seemed to surface in a message warning about the contents of 302s, which were FBI interview summaries from the Clinton email case, that weren’t given to Congress up-front. In the September 2016 text, Strzok wrote that “there are VERY inflammatory things in the 302s we didn’t turn over to [Congress]…that are going to come out in FOIA and absolutely inflames Congress. I’m sure Jim and Trisha and Dave and Mike are all considering how things like that play out as they talk amongst themselves.”

“Mike” would appear to be a reference to Kortan.”
