Raise Money for Clean Water Wells
Bringing Learning to Life is what the EVSC is all about and Plaza Park International Prep Academy is no different. Sixth grade students at Plaza Park will soon have the opportunity to bring their learning to life as they work to raise money to provide clean water for a village in Africa.
Plaza Park is kicking off a months-long project – the Plaza Park Student Leadership Committee (SLC) – designed for sixth grade students who are interested in learning to be positive and effective leaders. Students involved in the SLC will be trained in leadership techniques as they attend bi-monthly meetings with sixth grade teachers and have opportunities to meet with community leaders to learn from their experience and insight. These meetings will allow students to learn real-world techniques and policies that will allow them to be successful going forward.
After mastering leadership skills and putting what they have learned into practice, students will develop and execute a plan to raise money to provide clean drinking water for a village in Africa.
