Ivy Tech to Hold 11thÂ Annual CRUISE-IN Event

Ivy Tech Community College Southwest will host its eleventh annual CRUISE-IN Saturday, July 25^thÂ from 4 p.m. â€“ 8 p.m. at the main campus in Evansville. The annual event is free and open to the public, and typically attracts between 200-400 visitors.

Attendees can expect to see street rods, trucks, and other unique cars from around the tri-state. The event is coordinated by students in Ivy Techâ€™s popular Automotive program and is sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts.

Local companies such as Car Quest, Advanced Auto, PRC Customs, MATCO Tools, Barton Automotive, Vann Auto, Duellâ€™s Evansville Hyandai and many more will be in attendance.

Awards will be given for Best Domestic Car, Best Import Car, and Best Dyno Run. The CRUISE-IN will also featureÂ live musicÂ provided by local favoriteÂ The Two Timers, door prizes, and opportunities to see vehicles run on the very popularÂ ChassisÂ DynamometerÂ (a large machine that can simulate highway-driving conditions to test horsepower, torque and miles per hour).

Lloyd Expwy at HWY 41 to close at 7:30pm Friday for arrival of new pedestrian bridge

Evansville Police will be closing the Lloyd Expressway from Weinbach to Garvin at 7:30 Friday night. The closure will allow crews to set the new pedestrian bridge in place on the east side of Lloyd and Hwy 41. The closure is expected to last from 7:30pm-8:00pm.
Police will be re-routing traffic onto Weinbach for westbound traffic and Garvin for eastbound traffic. Motorist are encouraged to avoid the area during those times and to plan on using alternate east/west routes. Motorists in the area should expect delays.

Evansville man wanted for May 19th Arson at eastside business

Evansville Police have obtained an arrest warrant for 24 year old ZACHARY LOUIS YOUNG in connection with an arson that happened on May 19th, 2015.
Investigators believe YOUNG entered the Speedy Oiler at 4711 Bellemeade and took items from inside. Prior to leaving the scene, YOUNG started a fire in the business. An employee found smoke in the building when they arrived at work and called 911.
YOUNG was an employee of the business at the time of the fire and developed as a suspect during the investigation.
In addition to the Arson warrant, YOUNG is has an active warrant for Bank Fraud. Anyone with information on YOUNG is asked to contact Evansville Police.

Evansville Police arrested 23 year old ANDRU BEASLEY on theft charges after he took items from several cars.
Around 11:00 Thursday morning, police were called to the area of Englewood and Ravenswood for a report of a man getting into parked cars in the neighborhood. Police arrived and located BEASLEY in possession of items from several victims.
Police were able to locate some of the owners and return the property. The unclaimed items were collected and can be claimed by the owners.

Evansville man arrested on weapon and theft charges during domestic violence investigation

Evansville Police arrested 22 year old DALARRIUS JACKSON on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and theft during a domestic violence call at Garvin Park. The call came in around 4:25 Thursday evening.
During the investigation, Officers determined JACKSON was in possession of a 9mm handgun. The gun had previously been reported stolen in Henderson KY.
The female declined to pursue charges against JACKSON, but police charged him with the felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and the misdemeanor theft.
