This comprehensive guide is your ultimate resource to discover the hidden gems, popular attractions, and unforgettable experiences that the Evansville Region has to offer.  Whether you are a visitor or a resident looking to explore your own backyard, this guide is your go-to companion for discovering the best of our city.  Be sure to grab a copy to unlock the secrets of our vibrant community.

Next, let’s talk about the incredible activities happening this summer at the Evansville Sports Complex. From exhilarating sports tournaments to high-energy league play, the complex is buzzing nearly seven days a week. Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or simply looking for a great time, the Evansville Sports Complex has something for everyone. Join us in cheering on talented athletes next month when the USSSA Great Lakes Nationals returns to Deaconess Sports Park July 10-16. We anticipate an electrifying atmosphere featuring nearly 200 softball teams from across the country.

While we embrace the thrill of the present, we are also eagerly planning for an extraordinary celestial event set to take place in 2024. That’s right, mark your calendars for April 8, 2024, because Evansville is gearing up for the highly anticipated Solar Eclipse! As one of the premier locations to witness this rare celestial spectacle, we are working diligently to ensure that this once-in-a-lifetime event leaves a lasting impression on visitors and residents. An American in Provence is a beautiful collection of exquisite portrait, scenic, and still-life photography from New York Times bestselling author and award-winning photographer Jamie Beck. Looking to slow down from her fast-paced life in New York City, Beck embarked on a one-year getaway to Provence. One year, turning into five, Beck moved to the French countryside, documenting her life as “An American in Provence.”

Equal parts art book, travel diary, memoir, and cookbook, An American in Provence transports you to the South of France. Beck shares her tips and techniques for creating incredible photos and details her transformational journey as an artist and woman. About the Author: Jamie Beck took her first photograph at the age of thirteen and soon after began earning her living as a professional photographer. By twenty-eight, she opened her own commercial photographic studio in lower Manhattan. Jamie has shot campaigns and editorials for some of the world’s most famous brands, including Chanel, Donna Karan, Nike, Oscar de la Renta, Google, Samsung, and Microsoft. Her work has appeared under the mastheads of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, on Netflix, and in digital ad displays for Disney. In 2016, she took what was to be a one-year sabbatical to create a personal body of work in the South of France, which changed the entire course of her life, one that blossomed into a career as an art photographer and delivered her a French-born baby girl named Eloise. DISNEY JUNIOR LIVE ON TOUR: COSTUME PALOOZA ARRIVES AT THE PLAZA ON OCTOBER 14!

Evansville, IN – June 13, 2023 – Disney Junior Live On Tour: Costume Palooza will stop by Old National Events Plaza on Saturday, October 14. Audiences are encouraged to dress up for a fun-filled experience featuring characters from “Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends” and other hit Disney Junior series including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Doc McStuffins, the Puppy Dog Pals, and Bo from “Firebuds.” The three-time Pollstar nominated Disney Junior LIVE On Tour has visited hundreds of cities and sold over a half million tickets.
In Disney Junior Live On Tour: Costume Palooza, Mickey, Minnie and their pals are getting ready to throw a huge costume party, but mysterious weather keeps interrupting the fun. Can Team Spidey help save Costume Palooza? The show is geared toward Disney Junior’s most beloved super fans and offers an immersive, interactive concert experience that includes singing, dancing, 3D special effects and acrobatics with cirque-style performances including incredible trampoline routines from renowned acrobatic director John Brady.

UE’s ROBERTS EARNS ABCA/RAWLINGS ALL-REGION FIRST TEAM HONORS

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – On the heels of an historic season at the University of Evansville this past spring, UE graduate outfielder Eric Roberts (Hamilton, Ohio/Hamilton) has been voted to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Midwest First Team in a vote of the region’s head coaches.  Roberts is now a finalist for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors.

Roberts became the first player in UE baseball history and just the second player in the last 30 seasons in Missouri Valley Conference history to record over 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in the same season this year, as he hit a Valley-best 21 home runs, and stole a career-best 20 bases.  Overall, Roberts ranked in the MVC’s top 10 in ten different offensive categories, including leading the league in home runs (21) and total bases (150), ranking second in the Valley in runs scored (61), stolen bases (20), and walks (42), and ranking in the league’s top 10 in slugging percentage (3rd-.622), hits (8th-71), RBI (3rd-58), triples (4th-3), and sacrifice flies (4th-4).  The first-team all-MVC selection was one of the most consistent players in the country, as he homered in 11 of UE’s 14 weekend series, and did not go more than 35 plate appearances without a home run from March 5-on this spring.

The ABCA Midwest region includes teams from the states of Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.  All ABCA member coaches in the region have the opportunity to vote for All-Region selections.  The first-team All-Region honorees are now finalists for the ABCA All-America teams, which will be announced on Friday, prior to the start of the College World Series.
