Otters one-hit Rascals to even series

Ty Hensley and Tyler Vail combined to one-hit the River City Rascals on Saturday night as the Evansville Otters won 3-1 at Bosse Field in front of 3,676 fans.

Evansville opened the scoring in the bottom of the third on a Travis Harrison bases loaded walk.

J.D Hearn drew a bases loaded walk of his own to tie the game in the fifth for the Rascals.

The Otters retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Harrison drove in his second run of the game with a single and Jeff Gardner brought in the third run of the game for the Otters on a sacrifice fly.

Vail threw the final 4.2 innings in scoreless fashion to secure the 3-1 victory for the Otters. Vail allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out five to earn his fourth win of the season for Evansville.

Hector Hernandez takes the loss for the Rascals. Hernandez went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits while walking five and striking out four.

Hensley started for the Otters and receives a no-decision. Hensley went no-hit 4.1 innings, allowing just one run while walking six and striking out five.

The Otters wrap up their regular season home schedule tomorrow afternoon at 2:35 p.m. at Bosse Field against the Rascals.
