    • The doggie mule cartel beat you to it. That dog has carried many tons across our southern border. They can’t catch her. She’s a legend in Guadalajara.

      • I never did trust that Caesar guy from Mexico. Now we know what he was whispering to that pack of dogs he hangs with. But every dog runner needs employment to reduce recidivism. Glad to see Fida broke free from the life of international intrigue.

      • Is anyone else tired of commercials on U tube and every other web sites that has videos? CNN is one of the worst. The Courier and Press is bad as well as the WFIE site. Every where I look on the internet has some pop up add blocking my view or a movie that starts up with a commercial without me doing anything but clicking on a link. It’s got to stop. But what can we do to put a stop to this BS?

        • It’s still a “bargain” in terms of your time as TV is now about 55/45 programming to ads ratio.

        • Moveon,–You cannot even purchase or rent a DVD anymore without 5+minutes of all kinds of ads & trailers that precede the movie that you PAID FOR,–it’s getting out of hand no doubt about that.
          Captive audience?
Work ’em over Dan-o, –is the advertising industry’s mantra! It never stops, I too am getting more than tired of their mind numbing assault.

        • Moveon, use Firefox browser, install adblock plus and then add ‘||doubleclick.net^’ to the blockable items list. That will solve youtube ads. You can use adblock to selectively block any/all images, advertising banners, flash animations and (most) video ads. It will also block background scripts that bog down (some) web pages from loading, like nearly 100% websites are ties to google in some fashion (java, analytics, tracking, etc.)

    • Remember the song ” ol red” by Blake Shelton? No one had ever escaped from the prison’s old red but when ol red headed South the prisoner on the loose went North. Ol red has something else on his mind that night. LOL

Any dog can be caught you just have to use the right bait.

  1. Is it true we should expect a full IIT Monday on the Illinois Senate race? Is it also true that it would never happen beings the Demo is highly favored to win? (couldn’t resist!)

    • Armstrongres,–Fact–Chicago rules Ill. elections. Did you see where a Candidate for State wide office went to the Library in Chicago to vote early, and the voting machine turned his vote(he is a Republican) in to a vote for his Democrat opponent? His other choices were also turned into votes for the Democrats? –It was called a “mis-calibration” by those in charge of the election. —-Yeah Right!
Chicago is one of the most corrupt cities in America, — predicting that the Democrat Senate candidate WILL win is a piece of cake.

      • Apparently Chris Christie thinks the Republicans are very corrupt, too. He says that in order to win the presidential race in 2016, there should be Republican governors in charge of the “voting apparatus.”

        • LKB,–Cristie is just about a big a piece of Crap as is McConnell of Ky, but the post I was responding to was about Illinois.

          • Did you see where Chris Christie has put a Nurse who’s returning from Africa into MANDITORY quarantine? She is not very happy being put into a cold unheated room wearing paper scrubs only. She is fighting back against the New Jersey Governor and talking to the Press making Christie look like a Nazi Prison Commandant.

Don’t mess with the Medical Nurses. She is not running any fevers and has tested NEGATIVE For Ebola Virus twice with one test being conducted by the CDC. Yet the New Jersey GOP Governor has ordered her to remain in MANDITORY QUARANTINE

The nurse has said that if this keeps up no other health care workers will be willing to go to Africa to help control the Ebola Outbreak over there. I guess that’s what the Governor wants. Does he not realize that if we don’t stop the spread of Ebola in Africa at it’s source it will eventually spread around the world? We can’t totally isolate those people in Africa can we Governor?

      • Chicago is definitely a crooked city but they sure don’t have nothing on evansville

  2. Will the CCO be following up on the George Madison v. City of Evansville lawsuit? Substantial new details are now available concerning this case.

    • This is a very interesting case. I watched the video and wondered what the hell is wrong with these people. Do you have to challenge authority all the time? The police officer simply stated put down the cell phone and it’s turned into a major deal. So now all the liberal democrats want the police to go to some sort of sensitivity training or really to listen to a bunch stupid folks vent their ignorance. How about these folks going to some training on how to deal with our police officers, it’s really simple, do what the policeman tells you to do. If they had fathers at home and a decent school system they would already know how to act. I personally avoid contact with the police, it’s really not that hard to do, don’t break the law and try not to be a victim, simply put, follow the rules and secure your property. I’ve had a few contacts with the police and for the most part it was unpleasant, I learned the hand I use to accept a ticket is the same hand I use to fasten my seat belt. I received a speeding ticket a number of years ago, the liberal side of me blamed it on driving while white(DWW), the conservative side of me put it simple, driving 80 in a 55 is against the law. I’ve been a victim of theft twice, I made it easy for the criminal. I think our police are under attach by democrats, specifically African Americans and politicians. The President of the United States has lead this attach, followed by the Attorney General, black panther eric holder. The governor of Missouri has turned against his police. Ferguson is a prime example of where our country is headed, look at the thugs and there’s a 96% chance they are democrats. The sad part is the democrat governor needs the votes of those thugs to stay in office. It has repeatedly reported in studies that police don’t target African Americans, African Americans just break the law more often. These reports are not reported by the mainstream or liberal media. There’s little doubt that democrats are domestic enemies of this country and need to be treated as criminals. I find it easy to stay away from unsafe people, that’s quite a job living in the inner city, we put our police in the position dealing with the very people I work to avoid.

      • You are one unreasoned SOB. Let’s discover why I say this about you. You claim that most criminals are black and democrats. Therefore you reason that democrats are criminals? Where did you make the leap?

People like you are dangerous and we need to keep a close eye on the likes of you?

        • There is no changing the thinking of proudly ignorant bigots, so I seldom replay to pov/al sharpie/howler/disaffected anymore.

          • Make that “reply.” I think the point behind his outrageous posts is to make liberals angry, so why give him the satisfaction?

        • Do the research, it’s all there. To me they’re criminals to you they’re bought and paid for votes. Most people in prison are democrats, if not why would the democrats want them to vote. If you lived in town you would get it, but being the racist you are with plenty of money to make choices you probably live in Newburgh. Maybe you’re like your buddy ebk and moved to the all white north part of Evansville. So you think you ought to keep an eye on me, go ahead, but remember as a democrat with great potential of doing time there’s already eyes on you. But as plenty in the prison clearly state, those with gender dysphoria usually do well in prison and enjoy it. I’m sure you will find it rather pleasant and cozy.

      • Pov you are a damn moron. Once your generation is dead we’ll all be better off.

        • Pov is the kind of dumbass that would have ratted out his neighbors to the English authorities if they were supporting the American revolution.

        • Ghost, you doing that jenkem again. You know what it does to your brain? Turns you into a democrat, crap in, crap out.

  3. http://www.thinkfurtheralger.com/renewable-energy-everyone-everywhere/?auto=1&utm_source=outbrain&utm_medium=contextual&utm_content=GRID&utm_campaign=energy

Thinking outside the box is what we need more of. This guy’s dreams could come true if the Coal People get the hell out of our way.

Please if you intend to vote for a US Senator in KY don’t vote for Obstructionist Mitch McConnell as he will never allow this guy above dreams to come true.

Do you really want to be stuck with clean air and an ancient technology that is killing us while making electricity? Why would you want that if there is an alternative to burning coal or oil to make power?

Please think of this as a long term goal that needs to be worked on right now not 100 years from now. You children’s children will thank you.

It’s time to change and don’t worry about not having jobs. Cleaner energy will make for much more growth than dirty coal. Right now many areas of the country are restricted in growth due to them having dirty air. Clean up their air and then new cleaner factories will arise. And they will use the sunlight and the flow of the Ohio River or the Ocean waves to make electricity.

I saw another article this morning dealing with how UK is turning to Hydrogen and building a support system for a hydrogen energy system. I’m going to go read that article later. But one can use Hydrogen now to power a house or a submarine or a train or a plane. Water molecules are spit apart making hydrogen gas and oxygen gas in their purest forms. Sunlight is captured and the energy from the sunlight is used to split the water molecule. Then when the fuel cell puts the hydrogen gas back together with the oxygen gas it produces energy in the form of electron. Batteries can be used to store the electrons and provide the power we need at night when the sun’s not shining

The new battery above in the link can be used to power the world cheaply. This is the future. We need more future looking people in this word and less coal dinosaurs.

  4. C & P sunday article re: Budget Drama. Two comments:

    1) The City paid a financial consultant to advise them that Friend is full of shit, that Friend’s analysis (as posted by CCO) should be dismissed, as ” a comprehensive conclusion about the operational accountability of the city should not be based on such a narrow view of four funds”.

Comment: this is called ‘changing the topic’. Friend’s analysis was right–it was the Administration’s own published numbers–and in those four funds the City has indeed depleted its cash reserves by over $ 13 Million.
To say that one can’t draw a conclusion on operational accountability based on the four funds Friend selected–which included the General Fund–is a laugh/ of COURSE you can draw that conclusion, what else could you conclude !

    2) That well-paid, hunky financial consultant, Dan Hedden, also weighed in by stating ” ending cash and investment balances should represent 15% or more of annual spending. Evansville’s operating balance at the end of 2013 was 25 %; Councilman Friend selected funds that have an ending operating balance of 7.5 %”.

Comment: Hedden didn’t “show his work”. What he did to try to minimize Friend’s analysis was to take all of the Fund Balances of the City of Evansville (numerator) divided by Annual Operating Budget to get this 25 % number. However, as Big Dan knows, you have to remove each Fund which is a special purpose Fund–as that cash can’t be used to fund general operations, it’s restricted. Also have to remove Water /Sewer cash balances, as that is a separate entity from the City.

Conclusion: I still think Friend is greasy and conniving, not worthy of a vote. But he scored points on his analysis, and must have drawn blood as the Administration had to go out and hire someone to rebut Friend’s finding (and the rebuttal was poor, as it attempts to get us to refocus away from the ACTUAL DEPLETION OF CASH by saying four funds is too small a sample; and that overall we’re OK, but without properly removing restricted Funds from the calculation). Finally, why can’t City Controller Lloyd rebut Friend ? Why do taxpayers have to pay for a lackey like Hedden to dash off these fancy letters ?

    • I read the City budget drama article as well.

      1) ” Winnecke administration officials say property tax caps and Ford Center bond payments are pressuring the city’s cash flow”. THANK YOU, City Admin, for finally admitting that the Fraud Center was a boondoggle, which many of us MENSA members knew well before it was started; and

      2) My favorite part of the article: “Hedden’s letter says Evansville has a ‘declining cash position’ and that over time the city must develop ‘a revenue and spending plan that align’ “. Wow, first Hedden says nothing to worry about, we’re at 25 % (see Albert Einstein above); then he says we have to get revenue and spending in line. Gosh, ISN’T THAT WHAT COUNCIL IS TRYING TO DO right now, ensure that if revenue is shaky we don’t overspend ? Methinks Umbaugh Associates consultant Hedden speaks with forked tongue.

      • Great point re: fact that City is double-paying for its financial expertise. Russ Lloyd must be either a pussy or a lap dog. Friend is a CPA, and if he fires a shot across the deck, Russ Lloyd–also a CPA–needs to answer him, AS PART OF HIS SALARY. Instead, City has to use taxpayer funds to hire an Indy-based consultant to counter Friend’s findings. This is not Doublemint gum, we don’t get two for the price of one: we pay each of them, handsomely.

Dan Hedden was the IT guy hired by Russ Lloyd in January 2012 to fix the computer implementation problem. From January 2012 through May 2014 (publication of 2012 Audit by SBOA), Hedden worked continuously to right the ship. The fact that the SBOA allowed the City to plug $ 29 Million (cash balance write down) into the beginning balances for 2012 speaks well to Dan Hedden’s contribution over that 29 month period he was paid to fix the problem. At least he got it down to JUST $ 29 Million ! Must have really been off when he started ? Maybe give Dan a big bonus for getting it down to the acceptable variance (in Winnecke’s eyes) of $ 29 Million ??

      • And the city wants to spend money for a hotel and medical building while they do not have the funds for the yearly budget. What does not add?

        • This is what democrats do. Look at Detroit, Chicago, DC, Memphis, LA and the list goes on. Did the democrats elect Winnecke to carry on with their agenda or did they elect him to be the fall guy? Just remember that the 1% property tax is not written in stone, if a city has severe enough financial problems it can be raised to 2% for a few years. Once big business, who have traditional supported local democrats have sucked this city dry they will leave and find another city that is somewhat solvent and suck it dry. You don’t have to do volumes of research to prove this, simple observation should suffice. Every city, state and country that falls in the hands of liberal democrats fails economically. Liberal democrats believe you can spend yourself solvent. Liberal democrats cannot logically refute this, so they resort to panic peddling, faulty analogies, denial, projection and emotional distortion. The only large republican controlled city in this country that declared bankruptcy was Palm Springs Ca. The city was fully controlled by republicans except for the treasurer and he absconded with the money. I blame this on the republicans, what were they thinking, a democrat in charge of the money and they weren’t watching. They surely knew that he was a democrat and we all know what they do, hell the prisons are full of them.

          • According to the WS Journal 8 out of 10 of the best run cities in the US are run by Democratic CC’s and Mayors. Cherry picking FAIL.

      • Chef,

Winnecke administration officials say Ford Center bond payments pressuring the city’s cash flow.

This likely marks the first time that the Winnecke administration has had a bad word to say about the Ford Center. They ‘bought in’ big time when they took control in 2012.

Will this be a harbinger of the 2015 election, when Winnecke will campaign with ” Hey, we didn’t build the Ford Center; we inherited that albatross from Weinzapfel –and have been doing damage control ever since. Roberts Stadium was torn down by someone, and thus we are going to have to live with this money losing pit” ?

    • Great post, AE! I agree with everything you wrote, including your feelings about John Nobody’s Friend.

    • In Russia,– it’s Pravda that disseminates the propaganda for it’s Rulers,–in Evansville, Indiana,– it’s the C&P!

      • Our analytics from the beltway referred to’em as the “furrier and suppressed” after following the social economics bents usually presented by analysis of the major main stream media there.
She’s squarely planted amongst the national main stream and the social economic environmental take out daily, by the national mainstream. Smart woman, as well as, successful, with that, and someone’s mention of Governor Pence, the people who observe these trends seriously also think Pence ought to make things clear his shoes aren’t packing any of Evansville CSO mandate or phantom budget question’s seemingly left on the floor by any Evansville politicians and their sponsors. She says those could come back to sprout a large propagating growth in the national media as an issue concerning the affect of the Indiana’s SBOA audit applications during his administration there. She thought that was hilarious, Noted, the stuff was first tracked onto his pathway forward by a mixed up Democrat controlled city government in the first draw.
“Back field facemask while the pass is airborne and the receivers downfield wide open.”

Her take was the floor in New Hampshire might have been cleaned enough prior to The New Jersey and Texas arrivals, so the floor can only take so much detergent before the whole place needs to be stripped down and sanitized and re-waxed all over again.

        http://gravismarketing.com/polling-and-market-research/new-hampshire-republicans-the-senate-the-presidency-chris-christi-background-checks-and-more/

  5. Yep, never forget your favorite local star is a big ole hydrogen processer, either. Uncommon energy alternatives are really not “uncommon.”

  6. Maybe Pence the scowler can loan Evansville some money from his surplus to help Winnecke get out of his tight.

Ok maybe that’s a bridge to far even for a big lib like me as they would just waste it again.

However, I will say this, Vanderburgh County is a BIG “giver” county as people from all over the tri-state come here to shop and chip in that 7% that Pence and Daniels love so much to burden IN families with.

    Discuss.

  7. I expect a lot of that surplus to be spent on projects that will garner campaign contributions to GOP candidates. I don’t think that even the Scowler is delusional enough to think he can get the presidential nomination, but I do think he will be working to become the lap dog of the rich and powerful and hoping to get tapped for VP. He would offer some appeal to the far right fringe, but he’s going to have to turn that scowl upside down and work at charming the Romneys.

  8. Surprise, Surprise ! The C&P endorsed Dave Wedding for Sheriff this morning.

The C&P, besides being an enabler for the Machine, reasoned that because Byram is in favor of the use of ‘Reserve Deputies’–and Wedding is opposed to Reserve Deputies–that was enough to tilt the needle in Wedding’s favor.

Also, humorously, the C&P said “they” (the C&P) has “long been opposed to the use of Reserve Deputies”.

Gosh, C & P, I thought you were supposed to report the facts ? How could you report on the Sheriff’s race objectively if you have an institutional bias against the use of Reserve Deputies ?

    • I agree that the reasons that C&P gave for endorsing Wedding are curious. They didn’t mention at all his support from all kinds of groups throughout the county. They didn’t mention at all the overwhelming numbers of established Republicans who are supporting him. They failed to mention that the vast majority of his own employees support him. The C&P forgot about his vast experience, his fiscal responsibility, or his sterling service record. They ignored his work in the fields on school safety and traffic safety. They totally missed his work with community groups and his collaboration with the state police and evansville police department.

C&P was remiss in forgetting to remind voters that Wedding’s opponent, Kirk Byram, has stolen money from his mother and business partners. They neglected the fact that 2 businesses that Byram started failed. They forgot to mention Byram’s nasty temperament, when he gets mad. Like the time he went off on Facebook on his boss. C&P failed to remind voters of how Byram called Wedding all kinds of nasty names. They did mention the reserve program that Byram has proposed with no real plans of how to pay for it. C&P didn’t say anything about the fringe right wingers that Byram surrounds himself with. They never said a thing about Byram’s continual mud slinging and forgot that Byram has proven that he will do or say anything to get elected. They ignored that Byram became active in the community only after he started running for sheriff.

C&P got the endorsement right. They just missed a lot of the reasons for it.

    • ” ces frappes ont tué au moins 500 jihadistes en un mois”

“these strikes have killed at least 500 jihadists in a month”

  9. My comprehension may be off, what did I miss? The c/p article on add cost quotes Mcnamara booked 1/3 more spots on TV at about half what the same channel charged her opponent. I’d have thought they had some standard charges per spot.
