Keith Alan Weyer of Newburgh, IN, loving husband and father to three children, passed away on July 2, 2019 at the age of 62. He was born on July 17, 1956 in Ferdinand, IN to Sylvester (Johnny) and Geneva (Spayd) Weyer.

He graduated from Forest Park High School of Ferdinand, IN in 1974 and then received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Marketing from Indiana University in 1979. It was as a fraternity brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon that he developed his passion for biking and sailing, which followed him throughout his life. Upon graduation, he went on to have a successful 30-year career with The Pantry, which took him to Murfreesboro, TN and Charleston, SC before finally settling down in Newburgh, IN.

The center of Keith’s life was his beloved wife, Theresa, and their three children: Brett, Brock and Audrey, to whom he was an amazing father. Keith was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and played a key role in helping both Brett and Brock achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. They attained the Grand Slam status by participating in all four high adventure camps—Philmont, Sea Base, Northern Tier and Summit. He and Audrey often took last minute trips to Memorial, IU and Purdue games when he wasn’t driving her to volleyball practice. Many happy family weekends were spent boating, hiking, sailing or camping.

Keith joined the Evansville Bicycle Club in 1986 and was an avid cyclist. He served as President, Treasurer and Great Pumpkin Metric co-chair during his tenure with the club and achieved club mileage leader three consecutive years. He had many great adventures with this group.

Anyone who knew Keith knew that he always had a story to tell.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Theresa; their three children, Brett, Brock and Audrey; brothers, Eric (Jane) and Bruce Weyer (Noelle); sister, Beth Markowski (Dave); and ten nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 613 Cherry Street, Evansville, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to Youth Resources, 4451 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710 or at youth-resources.org/donate.
