Charles E. VanStone, 82, passed away surrounded by his family on July 10, 2019. Charles was born on July 8, 1937 in Evansville, Indiana. He attended Bosse High School and graduated in 1955. After high school, he entered the army and he served in Germany.

After he returned to Evansville, he worked as a painter and then worked at Fiberfil in Evansville for approximately 20 years. He also attended MIT for several courses in color technology. He retired in 2002. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt and served on several committees.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sara (Rice); son, Gilbert; step-son, Randy Bower (Bre) of Middletown, Indiana; step-son, Steven Bower (Marjorie) of Kansas; step-daughter, Cyndi Flanagan of Georgia; several grandchildren; Nikki Bloomer (Chris) of Fishers, Indiana, Amanda Roberts (Kenny) of New Castle, Indiana, Mackenzie Steele of Indianapolis, Indiana, Erin Bower of Kansas, Madalyn Bower of Kansas, Michael Flanagan (Jessica) of Georgia, and Kellyn Aguilar (Jaime) ,several great grandchildren; brothers, Kenny VanStone of SC and Paul VanStone of KY, and niece, Kathryn Kornblum Velle.

Charles was preceded in death by son, Brock; brother, Jack; brother, Howard, as well as his mother and father.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt with funeral services immediately following.

Burial will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Darmstadt. Pastor Stan Temme will officiate all services.
