New Cheddar’s to open Monday

4

North Green River has a new addition – a brand new Cheddar’s. Known for their large portions at reasonable prices, Cheddar’s is a welcome addition to Evansville. A quick review of their online menu revealed quite a few gems that we can’t wait to try. “Half-Pound Burgers” for around $5. Steak & Ribs for $14. The vast majority of the entrees on the menu are 9.99 or below. Given the price range, selection, and quantity of Cheddar’s meals, we expect this restaurant to be well received.

Opening Day is Monday, November 13th @ 11AM.

  1. I guess that the food is tasty but the portions, unless divided, point right toward the city’s obesity problem.

    • Yes, I was there last night for their training sessions as a guest. Unbelievable portions, OMG! I got the fried catfish, dinner portion. It was 5 huge pieces. Order the lunch portion (also available in the evening) if you go Monday. Or count on sharing or taking half to go home.

My wife had the grilled chicken, the one with some sort of mustard sauce, it was delicious too. But again, a two person portion. LOL. Steamed broccoli was perfect.

Son-in-law had the chicken and shrimp. Again, two person portion. Very good. Daughter had the bourbon glazed salmon. Delicious! For me it could’ve come off the grill a minute or two earlier, but I like mine barely done. Most people would find their salmon perfect I think. Again, very generous portion.

Looked at the menu. Very reasonable pricing. In fact, cheap by today’s standards. Burgers start under $6, with fries I think 1.79 extra. Those are 8-oz burgers, so the price is same as Hardies and cheaper than Bar Louie except on Tuesdays. LOL.

They have a 7-oz NY Strip for 9.99 and an 11-oz for 11.99 so that looked real good too.

Enough free advertising! But it’s a damn good thing they got a huge parking lot, because they’re gonna fill it.

  2. When we asked to sit outside the hostess had an attitude and tried to give an excuse why we couldn’t sit outside. When we waved for our server she came to the table with an attitude saying her name was Sarah when she didnt tell us that in the first place or have a name tag like other restaurants. Our food came out cold and ended up getting microwaved to solve our problem? Sarah gave us attitude the whole time we were there. When we paid for our check she didn’t even come back with change and decided to keep it for herself. When we confronted the manager she seemed like she didn’t care. Service was bad, food was average, could of been better. Never coming back! We were so disappointed.
