Men’s Golf 21st at Purgatory Regional

he University of Southern Indiana men’s golf team concluded its regular season as they placed 21st out of 29 teams at the Purgatory Regional #4 at Purgatory Golf Club after the second round was canceled due to weather.

USI was able to complete its second round, but the second wave of teams did not finish, leaving the first round as final results. In that round, the Screaming Eagles shot a 26-over 314.

The Eagles faced tough competition, as senior Grant Saylor (Newburgh, Indiana) led the Eagles with a four-over 76 to tie for 40th.  Two strokes behind Saylor was junior Preston Van Winkle (Santa Claus, Indiana), as he finished tied for 74th with a six-over 78. Freshman Trevis Bell (Madisonville, Kentucky) tied for 93rd with a seven-over 79.

The Eagles will next compete at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship April 23-25 at River Cut Golf Course in Springfield, Missouri.
