Concepcion to work with camps in the summer

Purple Aces head volleyball coach Manolo Concepcion will once again work with USA Volleyball this summer in Colorado Springs at the USA National A2 Invitational Team Program, which will take place in July.

The USA National A2 Invitational Team Program is designed to the give the next tier of the country’s top athletes the opportunity to work with top HP coaches at a competitive event. Players who participate in the program train for 4 days in all skills and focusing on position-specific areas each day. On the fifth day, players are split into teams, in which they train for a full day under international rules and learn opponent scouting. The final two days of the program feature an international-style tournament culminating in a tournament championship on the final day.

High Performance Coaches are trained in the USA Volleyball National Team Training Model and are teaching the techniques and systems utilized by our U.S. National and Olympic Teams lead by head coaches Karch Kiraly and John Speraw.

“I am very excited to be joining USA Volleyball National Team pipeline system this summer. Developing athletes is one of my favorite parts about coaching, and having the opportunity once again to work with some of the top coaches & players in the nation, makes it even more appealing,” Concepcion said.  “This will be my second year involved in this project, and I am grateful and honored to be considered by USAV to be part of their staff. It was great spending these past months helping evaluate athletes at their tryouts, so I now look forward to teach, learn, and bring back new knowledge and experiences to Evansville.”

“This, along with hosting the Gold Medal Squared Coaching Clinic being hosted on campus this coming July, will continue to help grow the game in our city, club, and university program,” Concepcion added.
