Mueller Objected to Barr’s Description of Russia Investigation’s Findings – Complains Barr’s Letter Did Not Capture Context Of Trump Probe

Special Counsel Robert Mueller wrote a letter in late March to Attorney General William Barr, a stern leyyer objecting to his early description of the Russia investigation’s conclusions that appeared to clear Trump on possible obstruction of justice. Mueller complained that Barr’s four-page letter “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions” of the special counsel report and that “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations”

The Special Counsel Robert Mueller letter was sent on March 27 to Barr as AG, and Barr had “announced” that Mueller had not found a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russian officials seeking to interfere in the 2016 election. Barr also said Mueller had not reached a conclusion about whether Trump had tried to obstruct justice, but Barr reviewed the evidence and found it insufficient to support such a charge. Days after Barr’s announcement Mueller wrote a previously unknown private letter to the Justice Department, which revealed a degree of dissatisfaction with the public discussion of Mueller’s work. The letter made a key request that Barr release the 448-page report’s introductions and executive summaries, and made some initial suggested redactions for doing so, according to Justice Department officials

Throughout the conversation Mueller’s main worry was that the public was not getting an accurate understanding of the obstruction investigation. After the Attorney General received Special Counsel Mueller’s letter, he called him to discuss it. In a cordial and professional conversation, the Special Counsel expressed frustration over the lack of context and the resulting media coverage regarding the Special Counsel’s obstruction analysis. The letter adds to the growing evidence of a rift between them and is another sign of the anger among the special counsel’s investigators about Barr’s characterization of their findings which allowed Trump to wrongly claim he had been vindicated. The Special Counsel expressed frustration over the lack of context and the resulting media coverage regarding the special counsel’s obstruction analysis

In his letter Mueller wrote that the redaction process “need not delay release of the enclosed materials. Release at this time would alleviate the misunderstandings that have arisen and would answer congressional and public questions about the nature and outcome of our investigation”

A central issue in the simmering dispute is how the public’s understanding of the Mueller report has been shaped since the special counsel ended his investigation and delivered his 448-page report on March 22 to the attorney general. The four-page letter that Mr. Barr sent to Congress two days later gave little detail about the special counsel’s findings and created the impression that Mueller’s team found no wrongdoing, allowing Trump to declare he had been exonerated

But when Mueller’s report was released on April 18, it painted a far more damning picture of Trump and showed that Mueller believed that significant evidence existed that Trump obstructed justice. Over the past month, other signs of friction between the attorney general and the special counsel have emerged over issues like legal theories about constitutional protections afforded to presidents to do their job and how Mueller’s team conducted the investigation

Barr and senior Justice Department officials were frustrated with how Mueller ended his investigation and drafted his report, according to the two people with knowledge of the discussions and another person briefed on the matter. They expressed irritation that Mueller fell short of his assignment by declining to make a decision about whether Trump broke the law. That left Barr to clear Trump without the special counsel’s backing. The senior department officials also found Mueller’s rationale for stopping short of deciding whether Trump committed a crime to be confusing and contradictory, and they concluded that Mueller’s report showed that there was no case against Trump

But Mueller did lay out evidence against Trump. After explaining that he had declined to make a prosecutorial judgment, citing as a factor a Justice Department view that sitting presidents cannot be indicted, the special counsel detailed more than a dozen attempts by Trump to impede the inquiry. He also left open the door for charges after Trump leaves office

Some of the special counsel’s investigators have told associates that they were angry about Barr’s initial characterization of their findings, government officials and others have said, and that their conclusions were more troubling for Trump than Barr indicated in his four-page letter. In one example Barr took Mueller’s words out of context to suggest that the president had no motive to obstruct justice. In another instance he plucked a fragment from a sentence in the Mueller report that made a conclusion seem less damaging for Trump

Mueller and the Special Counsel Investigators wrote “Although the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts, the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities” but Barr’s “summary” quoted only the passage that the investigation had found no conspiracy or coordination.

Hours before the public release of the Mueller report, Barr said during a news conference that he had “disagreed with some of the special counsel’s legal theories” about what constitutes presidential obstruction of justice. He also said repeatedly that the special counsel had found “no collusion” between the Russian government and the Trump campaign. Trump often uses the term, but Mueller’s investigators pointed out it had no legal standard and left it out of their judgments. Instead, investigators wrote that they had not found evidence to prove a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russians

Judicial Watch: Top Hillary Clinton Aide Admits Under Oath that He and Clinton Used Unsecure Personal Email for Official State Department Business

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released the transcript of a court-ordered deposition of Jacob “Jake” Sullivan, Hillary Clinton’s senior advisor and deputy chief of staff when she was secretary of state, in which the top staffer admits that both he and Clinton used her unsecure non-government email system to conduct official State Department business. A full transcript of the deposition is available here.

Judicial Watch’s court-ordered discovery centered upon whether Clinton intentionally attempted to evade the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by using a non-government email system and whether the State Department adequately searched for records responsive to Judicial Watch’s FOIA request.

      • Day 832: “Context, nature, and substance.”

1/ Robert Mueller twice objected to Attorney General William Barr’s four-page summary to Congress, saying the memo “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions.” Barr’s summary claimed that the Mueller investigation “did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government” and that Mueller “did not draw a conclusion — one way or the other —as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction.” Mueller, however, sent a letter to Barr on March 27th – three days after Barr issued his summary – citing “public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation” that “threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the department appointed the special counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.” Mueller asked the Justice Department to release the 448-page report’s introductions and executive summaries, making some initial suggested redactions that Mueller believed would “alleviate the misunderstandings that have arisen and would answer congressional and public questions about the nature and outcome of our investigation.” Mueller’s office first informed the Justice Department of their concerns on March 25th, the day after Barr released his summary clearing Trump of obstruction of justice. On April 9, Barr testified to Congress that Mueller declined an opportunity to review his summary of “principal conclusions.” Barr also previously testified that he did not know if Mueller supported his conclusion on the question of possible obstruction. (Washington Post / New York Times / NBC News / New York Times / Politico / CNN / The Guardian)

2/ Barr testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, answering questions about Mueller’s report for the first time since publicly releasing a redacted version of the report. Barr blamed the media for “reading too much” into his initial summary. He insisted that he did not misrepresent Mueller’s report and downplayed the significance of Mueller’s multiple complaints that the summary did not capture the report’s full context. Barr called Mueller’s complaint letter “a bit snitty” and questioned why Mueller’s team investigated instances of potential obstruction of justice if he knew he couldn’t charge Trump with a crime under Justice Department restrictions. Barr, however, admitted that he had not reviewed all of the evidence before declaring it “not sufficient to establish that the president committed an obstruction of justice offense.” Barr also claimed that Trump had “fully cooperated” with the investigation and that Trump’s multiple attempts to remove Mueller for alleged “conflicts” were not the same as firing the special counsel and did not constitute obstruction of justice. Democrats, meanwhile, accused Barr of “purposely misleading” Congress and the public about Mueller’s report. (New York Times / Washington Post / Politico / NBC News / CNN / Axios)

3/ Barr falsely claimed that Trump was never briefed by the FBI about the threat posed by Russia during the 2016 campaign, saying “I can’t fathom why it did not happen.” Sen. John Cornyn then accused Obama of failing to stop the Russian threat, claiming the Justice Department and FBI “decided to place their bets on Hillary Clinton and focus their efforts on investigating the Trump campaign.” Following a break, Barr walked back his claim, saying “a security briefing that generally discusses general threats, apparently was given to the campaign in August.” (Talking Points Memo / Axios)

4/ The House Judiciary Committee is discussing whether to hold Barr in contempt of Congress if he skips tomorrow’s scheduled hearing or ignores their subpoena for Mueller’s full report. The committee voted to allow staff lawyers to question Barr at Thursday’s hearing. Barr has said he will not appear under that format. Barr has until the end of the day to hand over the full Mueller report. He is not expected to comply. [Breaking news… Barr declined to testify before the House Judiciary Committee tomorrow, according to a committee aide. The decision comes after Democrats on the committee demanded that Barr face questions from the committee’s lawyers.] (Washington Post / Politico / CNN)

5/ Mueller is reportedly willing to testify before the House Judiciary Committee, but the Department of Justice has “been reluctant to confirm a date.” It’s unclear whether Mueller’s testimony about his investigation into Russian election interference and attempts by Trump to obstruct the probe would take place in public or behind closed doors. Chairman Jerry Nadler asked the Justice Department that Mueller appear for questioning no later than May 23rd. (Reuters / Daily Beast)

6/ The White House rejected the House Oversight Committee’s request for documents related to the security clearance process. The committee request came following accusations that the Trump administration granted security clearances to more than two dozen officials over the objections of career officials. Chairman Elijah Cummings called the move “the latest example of the president’s widespread and growing obstruction of Congress.” (Politico / Washington Post)

        Notables

A federal judge ruled that Congressional Democrats can move forward with their lawsuit against Trump alleging that his private businesses represent unconstitutional gifts or payments from foreign governments. Judge Emmet Sullivan allowed the emoluments case to move forward, refusing a request from the White House to dismiss the case under Trump’s narrow definition of the word “emoluments.” The case alleges that, without seeking approval from Congress, Trump received payments from foreign governments for hotel rooms and events, plus licensing fees for his show “The Apprentice” and intellectual property rights from China. (Washington Post)

A bill authorizing the release of state tax returns to Congress is expected to be taken up on the floor of the New York State Senate next week. If passed, it would allow the tax commissioner to hand over any New York tax returns at the request of the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee, the Senate Finance Committee or the Joint Committee on Taxation. The Alabama House passed a bill that would criminalize abortion. If signed into law, doctors would face felony jail time up to 99 years if convicted of performing an abortion at any stage of a pregnancy, unless a woman’s life is threatened. The legislation is part of an anti-abortion strategy to challenge Roe v. Wade. (NPR / CNN)

Her talking points are very similar to that of Comrade Reagan, that some how Trump is targeting both Jews and Muslims and the United States was founded on evil. Ilhan Omar: ‘This Is Not Going to Be the Country of White People’

Black Lives Matter and other anti-Trump groups held a rally on the grounds of the Capitol on Tuesday to call for President Donald Trump to be censured for what he said about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) controversial statement that “somebody did something” on 9-11.

People chanted ‘“Hands off Ilhan” and in a series of speeches blamed the president and Republicans for the rise of “white supremacy masked as white nationalism.”

Omar spoke at the event in praise of her homeland of Somalia and said the president and his Party are responsible for recent attacks on synagogues and mosques.

“At this moment, the occupant of the White House and his allies are doing everything that they can to distance themselves and misinform the public from the monsters that they created that is [sic] terrorizing the Jewish community and the Muslim community,” Omar said….

This is not going to be the country of the xenophobics,” Omar said. “This is not going to be the country of white people.”

“This is not going to be the country of the few,” Omar said. “This is the country of the many.”

“This is the country that was founded on the history of Native American genocide, on the backs of black slaves but also by immigrants,” Omar said.

    • Republican Senators Are Prepared To Burn Down Congress To Support Trump

With Trump blocking congressional subpoenas, suing the chairs of congressional committees, ordering the Treasury Department to defy the law by hiding information from Congress, and in general acting as if Article I of the Constitution was written on toilet paper, it seems as if that might be a problem for Congress. Republicans, who spent the last two years turning Congress into a Trump support group, are now prepared to “build a firewall” for Trump even if it burns down the last scintilla of congressional authority

Republican legislators aren’t looking for ways they can fight back against Trump’s defying Congress or ignoring laws. They’re determined to make it easier for him.. According to Republican liar Chuck Grassley Trump doesn’t have to listen to congressional subpoenas because he “already gave a million pages to oversight” That these documents had nothing to do with the subject of the subpoenas apparently isn’t a concern for Grassley. Trump gave something. Isn’t that enough?

Republicans already handed over fiscal authority to Trump by failing to override his declaration of a national emergency to allocate funds specifically voted down by Congress. Now they’re not just standing aside while Trump denies Congress’s oversight authority, they’re cheering him on. And when it comes to discovering the truth, Republicans aren’t pulling any punches. They simply do not care. Lindsey Graham told CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday “I don’t care what happened between him and Don McGahn”

According to testimony from former White House counsel Don McGahn, Donald Trump twice ordered him to get rid of special counsel Robert Mueller, including calling McGahn at home to tell him to make it happen. McGahn refused, and instead threatened to resign. Now Republicans in the Senate have a full range of disregard for obstruction. In addition to Graham’s “I don’t care” there is Republican John Cornyn who says attempted obstruction isn’t “relevant because Mueller was never fired, and Grassley bypassing any hearings or discussion to declare “there wasn’t any crime committed”

See no evil, shrug at evil, don’t even believe in evil. The right-wing playbook

Cornyn even admits that “there were some comments about stopping Mr. Mueller” but says that since it didn’t happen there’s nothing more to see here. That’s an attitude that should be welcomed by anyone facing conspiracy or racketeering charges. Or anything beginning with “attempted”

Republicans have also been careful to deny that the Mueller report, despite having mentioned more than twenty times the power of Congress to decide the issues surrounding obstruction, really meant that Congress had to make such a decision. They’re perfectly happy to go with the statement that Barr made in his original letter clearing Trump even though Mueller made it clear that the reason he wasn’t charging Trump with obstruction was only because of Trump’s position and DOJ rules concerning indicting an executive

Republicans are so determined to help Trump, no matter what it does to them or the nation, that they’re resisting taking any substantial efforts to improve security so that Russia doesn’t follow up on its 2016 success

Right-wing Trumper Roy Blunt told reporters Monday afternoon that nothing in Mueller’s report convinced him that the Senate needs to move legislation to protect elections. The report details how Russia spent millions conducting a military operation that encompassed every aspect of the Internet, traditional media, and boots-on-the-ground “grassroots” campaigning. That Blunt doesn’t feel that anything needs to be done about that suggests that he’s pretty happy with the work Russia is doing for him

Photos: First-Ever U.S. Government Delegation at Auschwitz for March of the Living

AUSCHWITZ — The first-ever U.S. government delegation to the March of the Living annual Holocaust memorial arrived at Auschwitz on a somber Thursday morning, bringing several ambassadors and envoys in a show of solidarity against antisemitism.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the unprecedented commitment of this administration to fight against antisemitism,” U.S. Special Envoy to Combat and Monitor Antisemitism, Elan Carr, told reporters outside the infamous concentration camp.

“There is no administration, no president, no Secretary of State that have ever committed themselves to this extent to fight against antisemitism, to protect the Jewish people, and to support the State of Israel,” he added.

The delegation included U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, and Ambassador to the Holy See Calista Gingrich, among many other ambassadors.

Gingrich told Breitbart News of the impact the delegation is hoping to make: “lt’s so important that we come here and honor the people who perished, and make sure that it never happens again.”

Thousands of participants, including youth activists from all over the world, joined survivors and diplomats for the three-kilometer walk from the Auschwitz concentration camp to the Birkenau death camp.

      • President Obama Speaks About Pinchas Gutter, Holocaust survivor who participated in the March of the Living, at Shoah Foundation Dinner

(The International March of the Living is joined EACH YEAR by various individuals and organizations from across the US. The Israeli founders of the March of the Living were assisted in the early years by Jewish communal leaders and philanthropists from the UNITED STATES (Alvin Schiff, Gene Greenzweig and Joseph Wilf, the first North American Chair of the March of the Living)

President Obama: “Being here with you tonight, I’m taken back to the visit to Buchenwald that I took in the very first months of my presidency. And I was there with my dear friend, Elie Wiesel. As most of you know, he who had endured that camp as a teenager. And we walked among the guard towers and the barbed wire. We saw the ovens and the crematorium. We saw the memorial to the prisoners, a steel plate heated to the temperature of the human body, as a reminder of our common humanity. And at the end of our visit, as we stood outside the place where his father and so many other souls had perished, Elie spoke these words and said: “Memory has become a sacred duty of all people of goodwill.” Memory has become a sacred duty of all people of goodwill. And that’s what brings us here tonight. That’s the duty that Steven and all of you embrace, the sacred duty of memory”

We’ve seen attacks on Jews in the streets of major Western cities, public places marred by swastikas. From some foreign governments, we hear the worst kinds of anti-Semitic scapegoating. In Ukraine, as Steven mentioned, we saw those disgusting pamphlets from masked men calling on Jews to register. And tragically, we saw a shooting here at home, in Overland Park in Kansas

And it would be tempting to dismiss these as isolated incidents, but if the memories of the Shoah survivors teach us anything, it is that silence is evil’s greatest co-conspirator. And it’s up to us, each of us, every one of us, to forcefully condemn any denial of the Holocaust. It’s up to us to combat not only anti-Semitism but racism and bigotry and intolerance in all their forms, here and around the world. It’s up to us to speak out against rhetoric that threatens the existence of a Jewish homeland and to sustain America’s unshakeable commitment to Israel’s security

Standing up to anti-Semitism is not simply about protecting one community or one religious group. We cannot eliminate evil from every heart, or hatred from every mind. But what we can do, and what we must do, is make sure our children and their children learn their history so that they might not repeat it. We can teach our children about the hazards of tribalism. We can teach our children to speak out against casual slur. We can teach them there is no “them,” there’s only “us” and here in America, we can celebrate a nation in which Christians and Muslims go to Jewish community centers, and where Jews go to Church vigils, a nation where, through fits and starts, through sacrifice and individual courage, we have struggled to hear the truth and live out the truth that Dr. King described that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, that we are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny”

I have this remarkable title right now, President of the United States, and yet every day when I wake up, and I think about young girls in Nigeria or children caught up in the conflict in Syria, when there are times in which I want to reach out and save those kids, and having to think through what levers, what power do we have at any given moment, I think,“drop by drop by drop” that we can erode and wear down these forces that are so destructive, that we can tell a different story”

    • Donald Trump: ‘Terrorism Against People of All Faiths Must End’

President Donald Trump denounced terrorist attacks against people of faith on Wednesday, citing recent attacks on Jews, Christians, and Muslims.

“We mourn for the Christians murdered in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday and grieve for the Muslims murdered at their mosques in New Zealand,” Trump said. “Here at home, we also remember the three historically black churches burned recently in Louisiana and the horrific shooting last year at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.”

Trump also mourned the loss of Lori Kaye, who was killed Saturday during a shooting at the Chabad of Poway.

Trump made his remarks at a dinner celebrating the National Day of Prayer on Thursday for prominent religious leaders — Christians, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, and Hindus.

“Violence and terrorism against people of all faiths must end and it must end now,” he said, as the audience applauded.

The president will host an event celebrating the National Day of Prayer in the Rose Garden on Thursday.

      • How can we test for rightwing hypocrisy? Here are some telltale signs:

You’re excited that President Trump is issuing executive orders but were upset when President Obama issued executive orders, calling it an abuse of power (or worse)

You believed every conspiratorial theory about Obama (he’s a Muslim, he wasn’t born in the States, he’s gay, he’s being groomed to be the antichrist or the leader of the New World Order, he was not going to step down after 8 years but planned to call for martial law and take over the country) but you are aghast when people call Trump a despot or question his motivation

You called Obama a self-centered narcissist when he frequently spoke about himself but see Trump as a selfless man living solely for the betterment of his country

You loved it when Rush and Hannity and other conservative hosts railed on Obama (virtually 24/7) but you feel the press is being totally unfair to Trump

You were glad the few times when the Republican-led Congress stonewalled Obama but are outraged when the minority Democrats seek to stonewall Trump

You commended the courts that stood against Obamacare, hailing them for their independent thinking, but you are appalled when the courts stand against Trump, pointing to these instances as perfect examples of judicial activism

You saw Obama as a race-baiting agitator, inflaming ethnic and racial tensions, but you are outraged when people call Trump a divisive racist

You laughed at the political cartoons mocking Obama’s appearance but are critical of caricatures of Trump (including his big mop of hair)

You made ugly jokes about first lady Michelle Obama, even yammering the idea that she was born male and is now a transgender female, but feel any negative comments about first lady Melania Trump are off limits, since it is wrong to criticize the president’s family

You argued that Obama’s executive orders were bad while Trump’s are good

You complained that mainstream media that fawned over Obama but now seems intent on taking Trump down

You mocked the celebrities and athletes who supported Obama telling them they should mind their own business and assuring them that America could care less about what they had to say about politics, but you commend the celebrities and athletes who stand with Trump, hailing them for their courage and praising them for getting involved in the political scene

You applauded Trump when he refused to guarantee that he would accept the results of the election if he lost but jeered the Democrats who questioned the legitimacy of his electoral victory. You also would have been the first to declare Hillary’s presidency illegitimate if she had won the electoral vote but lost the popular vote

You participated in conservative boycotts against companies like Target because of their aggressive LGBT activism but are mortified when liberals call for boycotts against companies or individuals with strong conservative values, accusing them of strong-armed tactics

How have you scored so far? Have you uncovered any hypocrisy of your own?

Knowing JethroBodine and this crowd of Trumpers, I doubt they can recognize the word “hypocrisy”

A Nigerian archbishop has decried the slaughter of Christians in his country and the media silence surrounding it, declaring that “Christians are being killed like chickens.”

Archbishop Matthew Man-oso Ndagoso told LifeSiteNews said that in the Muslim-dominated northwest of the country people live in constant fear, especially in the state of Kaduna where he resides.

“It is one of the states where everybody walks around afraid. There are kidnappers and bandits and they are killing people. Villages are being burned down,” Archbishop Ndagoso said in an article published Monday.

    • Day 831: Meritless

1/ The Justice Department and the House Judiciary Committee are at an impasse over Attorney General William Barr’s scheduled testimony. Barr is set to testify about his handling of the conclusions reached by Robert Mueller on Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee and Thursday before the House Judiciary committee. The House hearing, however, is now in doubt over a dispute about who would question Barr. Democrats want part of the questioning be conducted by the panel’s Democratic and Republican staff attorneys. Justice Department officials have threatened to cancel Barr’s appearance over the proposed format. House Democratic staffers, meanwhile, have threatened to subpoena the attorney general if he refuses to appear. House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler added that the Justice Department seemed to be “very afraid” to have Barr answer questions from committee staff attorneys. (Washington Post / Politico / CNN / Axios)

2/ Trump mocked national security officials preparing for Russian interference in the 2020 election. Trump suggested that “China is the only game in town” and predicted that “other countries” would try to emulate Russia’s efforts. In several meetings, Trump repeatedly told advisers that Russia didn’t change a single vote in 2016 – even though his advisers never suggested that Russia did. He called Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election a “goddamn hoax” and insisted that his campaign was not “hacked.” Trump’s reported lack of focus on election security has made it difficult for national security officials to implement a comprehensive approach to preserving the integrity of the electoral process. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer blamed the Trump administration for “not forcefully and adequately responding to the attack on our democracy” that Mueller describes in his report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election (Washington Post / Politico)

3/ The House Intelligence Committee will make a criminal referral to the Justice Department about potential false testimony by Erik Prince. Chairman Adam Schiff said “the evidence strongly suggests that [Prince] misled our committee” about a meeting in the Seychelles islands nine days before Trump took office between Prince and a Russian financier close to Putin. Prince told the committee that it was a chance meeting, but the Mueller report revealed communications showing that it was planned. Prince is the founder of private military contractor Blackwater, the brother of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, and a Trump ally (Washington Post / Axios)

4/ Trump, his family, and the Trump Organization are suing Deutsche Bank and Capital One to block their compliance with subpoenas from House Democrats seeking his financial records. Trump’s attorneys argue that the subpoenas serve “no legitimate or lawful purpose” and were issued to harass Trump and “rummage through every aspect of his personal finances, his businesses, and the private information of the President and his family.” House Democrats called it a “meritless lawsuit” that was “only designed to put off meaningful accountability as long as possible” in order to “obstruct Congress’s constitutional oversight authority.” The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Trump, Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, and the Trump Organization. Deutsche Bank and Capital One intend to begin providing documents to the House on May 6th, absent court intervention (New York Times / Politico / Axios / CNBC / CNN)

5/ Trump ordered new restrictions on asylum seekers at the U.S.-Mexico border. In a memo sent to Kevin McAleenan, the acting secretary of homeland security, and Barr, Trump ordered the development of new regulations to ban asylum seekers from obtaining work permits who crossed the border illegally, impose application fees for asylum seekers, limit access to additional relief, and more. There are more than 800,000 asylum cases pending, with an average wait time of almost two years. Trump ordered that the courts to settle all current asylum claims within 180 days (Washington Post / CNN / NBC News / New York Times / Politico)

The Trump administration wants to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization. The White House directed national security and diplomatic officials to find ways to sanction the group after Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi urged Trump in a private meeting to brand the movement a terrorist organization. The designation would result in wide-ranging political and economic sanctions against the group, as well as travel restrictions on companies and individuals who interact with them. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Trump is consulting with his national security team and that the designation is “working its way through the internal process” (New York Times)

Trump’s 2020 campaign manager gave a paid speech to a room full of Romanian politicians last month. Brad Parscale’s appearance doesn’t break any laws as long as he doesn’t do any lobbying in the U.S. on behalf of foreign clients without registering. Parscale charges $15,000 to $25,000 in speaker fees and promotes his insider’s knowledge as Trump’s 2016 digital media director (Washington Post)

    • Right-Wingers Outraged By “Easter Worshippers” Not Offended By “Passover Worshippers”

A week ago, conservative extremists were angry. After deadly Easter bombings at churches in Sri Lanka killed hundreds of worshippers on one of the holiest days in the Christian faith, some appeared to be upset by the sentence construction and word choice in the subsequent tributes.

In statements condemning the attacks and paying tribute to the victims, President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro each used the term “Easter worshippers” to describe the victims of those attacks. Conservative critics were incensed. Newt Gingrich claimed this was an attempt to avoid using the word “Christian” and Fox hosts Brit Hume and Laura Ingraham, former Trump adviser Sebastian Gorka, One America News Network host Jack Posobiec, Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk, radio host Dennis Praeger, and Breitbart’s Joel Pollak also joined the fray, suggesting that this phrase was some sort of anti-Christian slur

Fox Nut Jesse Watters made a similar charge. “They didn’t use Christians and they didn’t say churches. They actually said “Easter worshippers” were under attack. You don’t call Jews Passover-worshippers. It’s a made-up phrase”

HOWEVER: After a mass shooting at a synagogue in Poway on Saturday, the Israel’s Jewish News Reporter site posted a story with a sub-headline “19-year-old armed with firearm launches attack against passover worshippers in California community”

Elan Carr, Trump’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, tweeted on Saturday that the “attack on Passover worshipers at Chabad of Poway is a monstrous act of evil”

Numerous right-wing “pundits” used similar language to express sympathies to the members of the Jewish community who had been observing Passover. Not a single one of the people who were outraged by the term “Easter worshippers” have expressed similar outrage over these references to “Passover worshippers”

    • FBI Looking Into Antifa/Mexican Drug Cartel Nexus, Alleged Plan to ‘Stage an Armed Rebellion’

Antifa has been labeled as a domestic terror group, while the media has failed to cover its violent behavior.

A violent far-left radical radical group whom CNN conspiracy theorist Chris Cuomo called “a good cause” is being investigated by the FBI in an alleged attempt to team up with Mexican cartels to wreak havoc in the United States.

“The FBI report, which wasn’t posted online because the matter is still active, alleged that the anti-fascist activists were looking into buying firearms from a ‘Mexico-based cartel associate known as Cobra Commander’ that would be used to ‘stage an armed rebellion at the border,’” according to Fox News.

The FBI document also reportedly warns that Antifa “planned to disrupt U.S. law enforcement and military security operations at the US/Mexican border.”

Polls Show Economic Weak Spots For Trump – Signs Trump May Not Get Political Boost From The Economy

A pair of polls released Monday showed that many Americans don’t think they are benefiting from the bustling economy, revealing weak spots for Trump in public opinion despite economic growth

A Monmouth University Poll found that more than half of Americans don’t think they’ve been substantially helped by the strong macroeconomic trends, 27% saying they haven’t benefited much, and another 27% saying they haven’t benefited at all

Of those surveyed, 58% said Trump’s policies were skewed toward wealthy families. Respondents who said they’ve seen benefits were more likely to be wealthy, with 58% of those earning over $100,000 saying they’ve benefited and just 34% of those earning under $50,000 saying the same.

“There just isn’t a sense that Trump has come to the rescue of the middle class. He has his staunch defenders, but there hasn’t been any clear success in winning over the public on bread-and-butter issues,” said Patrick Murray, director of the INDEPENDENT Monmouth University Polling Institute

A Washington Post-ABC News poll found similar results showing that 62% of people think the economic system mainly benefits those in power, with just 34% saying it benefits all people.

POST-ABC NEWS POLL DATA SHOWs THAT MOST AMERICANS SEE THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM AS PRIMARILY BENEFITING THOSE ALREADY IN POWER

SIX IN 10 AMERICANS THINK THAT THE POWERFUL ARE THE BENEFICIARIES OF THE SYSTEM, INCLUDING TWO-THIRDS OF INDEPENDENTS

A THIRD OF RESPONDENTS SAID THAT TRUMP’S HANDLING OF THE ECONOMY MADE THEM MORE LIKELY TO OPPOSE HIS REELECTION

Many Americans say that they haven’t benefited much if at all from the good economy. Only among Republicans did more than half say they’d benefited some or a great deal. People who live in counties that Trump won in 2016 by at least 10 points generally don’t say they’ve seen much benefit

Monmouth asked respondents how much benefit different economic groups realized under Trump’s policies. Only 14% of respondents said poor or middle-class families benefited a lot. Six in 10 said wealthy families did

A full quarter of respondents said Trump’s handling of the economy would not be a factor in their vote. Most Americans (and about 4 in 10 registered voters) say they didn’t see much benefit from the good economy and that Trump’s policies mostly benefit the rich. Most Americans in The Post-ABC poll see the economic system as stacked in favor of the powerful

  4. Immigration Dept. Finds Surge of ‘Fake Families’ At U.S. Border Looking to Sneak Across Border

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reports that they are seeing more and more “fake families” coming across the border because they are being told having a family is a free pass for illegals trying to get into the country.

ICE said Monday that the agency had opened 100 cases with more than 25 suspected cases just in the first few weeks of April alone, the Washington Tomes reported.

Acting ICE Director Matthew Albence said that ICE is trying to weed out “fake families using forged documents” to game U.S. immigration policy.

Trending: Judge Rules that Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee Statue in Charlottesville is a Protected Monument

Under a policy imposed by a federal judge in 2015, adults who show up at the border with their children are supposed to be held in detention for 20 days or less. That isn’t enough time to hear their immigration cases, so the families are released — and often don’t bother to show up for their deportation cases, instead disappearing into the shadows.

That has created an incentive for adults to abduct or borrow children to make the journey north, hoping to fool border authorities.

“ICE, along with our partners at CBP, remain committed to protecting children by ensuring they are not used as pawns by individuals attempting to gain entry to the U.S. through fraud,” Albence said.

The sad fact is, adults are using children that are not part of their family to sneak into the U.S.A.

In other cases, these illegals also lie about the ages of kids, too, claiming they are under the age of 18 when they are not.

In one April 18 case, authorities say they detected a Honduran man traveling with a 7-year-old child. The man presented a false birth certificate for the juvenile, but ICE says the child was “completely unrelated.”

The man was charged with illegal entry — a misdemeanor — and the child was deemed an Unaccompanied Alien Child (UAC) and turned over to social workers at the Department of Health and Human Services.

“Former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said agents found one woman who was paid $1,500 per child to bring them back to Guatemala to be used again in future trips,” the paper said, adding that the woman admitted to doing this 13 times.

    • Making Family Unity and Child Well-being a Priority in Immigration Enforcement

Trump has time and again been steadfast in its approach to immigration: intolerant, malicious and obstructive at every turn. The majority of people arriving at the border are children and families from Central America seeking asylum, fleeing violence, crushing poverty and endemic crime. Despite the changing face of immigration, Trump has devoted much of its time in power to dismantling our current limited immigration system, punishing asylum seekers, separating families and attempting to deter entry

Trump has unleashed a torrent of immigration enforcement actions aimed at excluding non-white immigrants from the United States, implemented through attacks on asylum seekers and our systems of protection, including zero-tolerance and wide-spread family separation which resulted in the separation of over 3,000 children from their parents, including parents and children who were exercising their legal right to seek asylum

Trump’s brazen hostility toward non-white children and families seeking asylum also forced shelters for babies and the youngest children. Trump caused record numbers of children in detention and gross mistreatment of children in custody including unauthorized administration of medication and physical and sexual abuse. A Trump attempt at banning asylum at the border was blocked in the courts. A Trump plan to force asylum seekers to wait for entry in Mexico has been denied by the Courts, and the recent tragic deaths of three migrant children in Customs and Border Patrol custody shows the evil Trump is causing. Both the “zero-tolerance” policy and Trump’s larger immigration agenda have had devastating consequences for children, families, and neighborhoods of color across the country, harming the health and economic well-being of all of our communities

Trump continues to separate children from their parents, often offering vague or unsubstantiated allegations of wrongdoing to justify the practice. And separations from non-parent relatives continue as a matter of operating procedure despite the inherent risks for children. With ICE and CBP facilities overcrowding, the administration has been dropping off families by the hundreds at bus stations across Texas, Arizona and New Mexico with no advance planning. This is the backdrop of the reality of what awaits the more than 2,000 migrants crossing the border each day, the majority of them women and children seeking asylum.

Despite the dangerous conditions facing children and families crossing the border or in detention, Trump remains stuck that the answer to this crisis is to erect more border barriers. The wall Trump is so eager to build would likely force children and families to take even greater risks and attempt more dangerous journeys to cross the border with smugglers who are willing to venture into more life-threatening terrain to bring migrants across the border. The wall would jeopardize the health of children and parents who travel through remote regions without access to food, water and medical services on their journey, and on arrival spend days waiting in unsanitary and inadequate shelters without access to medical care in remote stretches of the desert. It will also likely create an even greater backlog at legal ports of entry, forcing migrants to wait months to cross the border, all the while waiting in unsanitary shelters

Trump zero-tolerance policy and litany of enforcement actions and missteps have caused irreparable harm to children and parents, with painful separations, lasting trauma, and an uncertain future. We must begin to prioritize the needs of children and families placed at needless risk over deeply discriminatory and unnecessarily punitive immigration deterrence policies. We do not have to choose between meaningful immigration policies and child and family well-being

    • Graham Lashes Out At Senator Mazie Hirono After She Takes A Wrecking Ball To Bill Barr

Lindsey Graham clutched his pearls and accused Hawaii Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono of “slandering” Attorney General Bill Barr after she took a wrecking ball to the hapless attorney general’s record of obstruction and lying

“From the beginning, you were addressing an audience of one, that person being Donald Trump. That’s why before the bombshell news of yesterday evening, eleven of my Senate colleagues and I called on the department of justice inspector general and office of professional responsibility to investigate the way you have handled the Mueller report”

“Being attorney general of the United States is a sacred trust. You have betrayed that trust, America deserves better. You should resign”

Hirono began peppering Barr with questions about the “ten episodes of possible obstruction” Barr had declined to describe as such “Do you think all the things that Trump did are okay? Are they what the president of the United States should be doing? Do you think it’s okay for a president to fire an FBI director, to stop him from investigating links between his campaign and Russia? It may not be a crime but do you think it’s okay”

“Well, I think the report is clear that…” Barr began, but Hirono had no time for his equivocating

“I’m not talking about the report or the analysis of whether a crime occurred. I’m asking you do you think it’s okay for Trump to do what he did, to fire the special counsel to keep them from investigating” as Barr thrashed like a trout on a hook, as Hirono reeled him in

“Do you think it’s okay for a president to ask his White House counsel to lie” Hirono pointedly asked

“Well, I’m willing to talk about what’s criminal…” Barr prevaricated

“We’ve already acknowledged that you think it was not a crime. I’m just asking if you think it’s okay, even if it’s not a crime. Do you think it’s okay for the president to ask his White House counsel to lie?” On and on it went, until Barr was reduced to pleading confusion

“Please, Mr. Attorney General” Hirono said, as a resentful Barr tried to interject “Give us some credit for knowing what the hell is going on around here with you”

“Not really” piped up Graham. “This line of questioning, listen, you’ve slandered this man”

“I do not think that I’m slandering anyone” shot back Hirono. “Mr. Chairman, I am done. Thank you very much”

“And you slandered this man from top to bottom” Graham whined

“Certainly you have your opinion. I have mine,” said Hirono, getting in the final say

    • Comey has as much credibility as Hillary, none:
      ……………………………………………………………….
‘Ethical’ James Comey is under investigation for unethical acts

One day after the disclosure that the Justice Department inspector general has recommended criminal charges against former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, it has been confirmed that fired FBI director James Comey is under investigation by the same office for leaking information to the media. This disclosure followed the release of the Comey memos, which seriously undermined both Comey and his cadre of defenders. Four claims by Comey are now clearly refuted, and the memos reaffirm earlier allegations of serious misconduct.

      James Comey was a leaker

For more than a year, various media experts have advanced dubious defenses for Comey, including the obvious problem that the man charged with investigating leaks became a leaker himself when as it suited him. Clearly, Comey removed the memos and did not allow for a predisclosure review of the material. Moreover, the memos were withheld by Comey’s surrogate, a Columbia University law professor, who reportedly read the information to the media.

f taking and disclosing memos were perfectly proper, why the surrogate and subterfuge? More importantly, Comey did not disclose the memos to Congress or hold copies for investigators. If Comey was not a leaker, then any fired FBI agent could do the same with nonpublic investigatory material. If the inspector general agreed with that position, then federal laws governing FBI material would become entirely discretionary and meaningless….

    • Outrage After Barr Declares Trump Asking Attorney To Lie Is “Not A Crime”

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the Senate Judiciary Committee’s ranking member, asked whether Trump had obstructed justice by asking White House counsel Don McGahn to change his account of efforts to remove special counsel Robert Mueller

“Well, that’s not a crime” Barr said about Trump directing a White House lawyer to lie for him

“So you can, in this situation, instruct someone to lie?” Feinstein asked

Barr said that it’s “not a crime” for President Trump to ask an aide to perjure himself and that in itself is a lie. 18 U.S. Code § 1622 outlines Subornation Of Perjury as “Whoever procures another to commit any perjury is guilty of subornation of perjury, and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both”

Trump directed McGahn twice at home to fire Mueller. Then Trump directed McGahn to create a false record. Barr’s PERSONAL opinion is presidents can’t obstruct, but that is NOT the law. Barr is AG to protect the Republican goal of one party minority rule. That’s it. He can’t be corrupted or co-opted by Trump because Barr was corrupt on day one

This is the low bar this administration sets for a President: anything short of a criminal act is ok. If Trump isn’t held accountable, this could well become the standard going forward, which would diminish us.

George Orwell spinning in his grave. Barr’s pitiful act today was a breathtaking moment that will speak for the Trump era

  5. ***BREAKING NEWS*** More evidence that JethroBodine and his right-wing bloggers will ignore that AG Barr is a liar who does not deserve to be the AG and should resign and be prosecuted

William Barr’s Improbable Explanation and Lies About Robert Mueller’s Letter

Special Counsel Robert Mueller told Attorney General William Barr that Barrs letter to Congress at the conclusion of Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election mischaracterized the special counsel report, writing that “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations” Mueller wrote in a March 27 letter

Attorney General William Barr repeatedly claimed the special counsel was more concerned about media reports than the four-page summary he released in March, testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee that Special Counsel Robert Mueller wasn’t worried about his summary of findings from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, a claim Mueller himself has contradicted

Barr told the congressional committee that Mueller was instead “concerned” about the media’s portrayal of that summary, saying “I called Mueller and asked what was the issue. Mueller said that his concern focused on his explanation of why he did not reach a conclusion on obstruction, and he wanted more put out on that issue” even though the call was initiated by Mueller

Mueller’s letter released publicly Wednesday flies directly in the face of those statements. Mueller said he REPEATEDLY asked Barr to release more of his investigation results, including summaries of each volume of the investigation. He said Barr’s summary “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions”

Days later Barr LIED about receiving those concerns, and Mueller’s letter also states that the special counsel informed the Justice Department of its concerns about Barr’s summary on the morning of March 25, just hours after the summary went public. It does NOT specifically mention Mueller had ANY concerns about how the media was portraying Barr’s summary of the report

“This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the department appointed the special counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations” Mueller wrote

Since JethroBodine and his merry band of Baghdad Bobs cannot quit prevaricating, here is the ENTIRE text of the Mueller letter that shows what a liar Barr is. Paragraph 3 below kicks the a$$ of everyone to show Barr is a weasel (which is why Twittler appointed him):

I previously sent you a letter dated March 25, 2019, that enclosed the introduction and executive summary for each volume of the Special Counsel’s report marked with redactions to remove any information that potentially could be protected by Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e) that concerned declination decisions, or that related to a charged case. We also had marked an additional two sentences for review and have now confirmed that these sentences can be released publicly

Accordingly, the enclosed documents are in a form that can be released to the public consistent with legal requirements and Department policies. I am requesting that you provide these materials to Congress and authorize their public release at this time

As we stated in our meeting of March 5 and reiterated to the Department early in the afternoon of March 24, the introductions and executive summaries of our two-volume report accurately summarize this Office’s work and conclusions. The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Office’s work and conclusions. We communicated that concern to the Department on the morning of March 25. There is new public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations. See Department of Justice, Press Release (May 17, 2017)

While we understand that the Department is reviewing the full report to determine what is appropriate for public release, a process that our Office is working with you to complete, that process need not delay release of the enclosed materials. Release at this time would alleviate the misunderstandings that have arisen and would answer congressional and public questions about the nature and outcome of our investigation. It would also accord with the standard for public release of noti?cations to Congress cited in your letter. See 28 C.F.R. 609(c) (“the Attorney General may determine that public release” of congressional notifications “would be in the public interest”)

  9. Far-Right Trump Supporting Smear Merchants Try to Slime Pete Buttigieg with Bogus Sex Assault Claim

A pair of right-wing wannabe provocateurs are accused of attempting to recruit young Republican men to level false allegations of sexual assault against Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg. A GOP source says fringe-right racist grifter Jacob Wohl and conspiracy theorist Jack Burkman approached him to make similar untrue accusations. The investigation revealed evidence that a mysterious sexual assault allegation against South Bend mayor and Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg was staged by far-right activists Wohl (who earlier this year made false terroristic threats against himself while harassing Rep. Ilhan Omar) and Burkman

A Republican source said that internet troll Jacob Wohl and lobbyist Jack Burkman approached him last week to try to convince him to falsely accuse Buttigieg of engaging him sexually while he was too drunk to consent. The source said Burkman and Wohl made clear that their goal was to kneecap Buttigieg’s momentum in the 2020 presidential race. The man asked to remain anonymous out of a concern that the resulting publicity might imperil his employment, and because he said Wohl and Burkman have a reputation for vindictiveness

The source provided an audio recording of the meeting which corroborates his account. In it Wohl refers to Buttigieg as a “terminal threat” to Trump’s reelection next year. Neither Burkman nor Wohl responded to repeated requests for comment on this story. But after contacted last week traces of the scheme disappeared from the web and social media. The source added that he recognized Wohl because of his internet notoriety and decided to record their conversation, convinced that it could prove useful should any investigation be launched into the origins of the anti-Buttigieg scheme. The audio was provided on the condition that it not be published, so as not to reveal its source. An expert in audio forensics contacted by The Daily Beast then examined the recording and confirmed that Wohl was one of the speakers

The man who told investigators that Wohl and Burkman approached him last week said he was connected to them by a friend in Republican politics whom the duo had allegedly also pitched on the scheme. They met at a restaurant in the Washington area, where both Burkman and Wohl introduced themselves using false names. Burkman assumed the alias of Matt Teller and Wohl just used the first name Bill

The pitch by Wohl and Burkman resembled past attempts by the duo to peddle dubious sexual assault allegations against perceived political foes. The source said Wohl and Burkman seemed to want him to figure out many of the details, including a window of time during which he and Buttigieg were both in Washington when the fabricated offense may have occurred. Wohl said the scheme was part of a “‘task force set up by the Trump administration” but a request for comment from the White House was not returned

Kelly said he was in close contact with Wohl and Burkman but claims he had nothing to do with the Medium post and didn’t agree to have his name used for the smear campaign. Kelly said he was “not sexually assaulted” and that he was duped into signing on to the smear stating “I was approached by a political figure to come to DC to discuss political situations from the standpoint of a gay Republican. I went to bed and woke up to a fake Twitter account and a Medium article that I in no way endorsed or wrote”

When the source expressed reluctance they assured him the scheme would make him wealthy, famous, and a star in Republican politics. Wohl cited the national recognition given to Christine Blasey Ford after she accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault during his confirmation hearings last year. Wohl and Burkman described the source’s role as a “catalyst” whose false allegations would prompt actual victims to come forward. They promised that a number of such victims were waiting in the wings

The source did not agree to participate in the scheme, but Wohl followed up with a phone call a day or two later to see if he could recommend friends or associates who might be a good fit to play the victim in the hoax. The phone number he called from was listed on the website of a company called Potomac Intelligence Group which claimed to be a political and corporate intelligence firm with offices in Virginia and California. Matt Teller (the alias that Burkman used in the meeting was listed as a Potomac Intelligence employee

Minutes after The Daily Beast reached out to Wohl and Burkman the Potomac Intelligence website was taken down, Teller’s LinkedIn page was deleted, and both of the company’s phone numbers were disconnected. The website was similar in appearance to that of Surefire Intelligence, a fake company that Wohl set up under the pseudonym Matthew Cohen and used to peddle false sexual assault allegations against Special Counsel Robert Mueller last year

Wohl, a notorious Trump troll who was banned from Twitter after boasting in an interview about how he used fake accounts to manipulate people, previously attempted to recruit a woman to make rape allegations against special counsel Robert Mueller. He invented a fake private intelligence company called “Surefire Intelligence” to try to make this scheme look legitimate, and the whole episode culminated in Wohl and Burkman holding a press conference only for Mueller’s “accuser” never to show up

  11. WESTROP: Research Has Uncovered $41 Million Of Taxpayer-Subsidized Islamism

In total, if the government’s own data is accurate, at least $41 million was given to institutions either controlled or under the partial influence of the Muslim Brotherhood, Jamaat-e-Islami (a violent South Asian Islamist movement), Salafis, Deobandis (a hardline South Asian Sunni sect from which the Taliban was created) and the Iranian regime, among others.

Some of the largest amounts involve grants to aid charities. Long favored by Islamist movements as a means to spread ideology through welfare, charities also provide extremists with plentiful funding and the occasional accompanying credibility of government partnership.

The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), for instance, received over $10 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for disaster relief work in 2016 and 2018. ICNA is the U.S. representative body of Jamaat-e-Islami, which was recently banned by the Indian government in the Kashmir region because of its involvement with “extremism and militancy in Jammu and Kashmir and elsewhere.”

    • BZZZZ! Twittler must be so proud of you JethroBodine for trafficking and promoting a hate group such as this “Middle East Forum”

Questionable Source – Exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency and/or fake news

Bias: Extreme Right, Propaganda, Conspiracy, Anti-Islam

The Middle East Forum (MEF) is an American conservative think tank founded in 1990 by Daniel Pipes, who serves as its president. According to their mission statement “The Middle East Forum promotes American interests in the Middle East and protects Western values from Middle Eastern threats” and the founder and President of the Middle East Forum Daniel Pipes is listed as an Islamophobic Individual by CAIR

Analysis/Bias – In review, The Middle East Forum is an anti-Islamist and strongly pro-Israel group. They often use loaded wording in their headlines such as “Migration to Europe Becomes a Crisis” and rarely provide sourcing. The Middle East Forum also republishes articles from right-leaning sources such as the Washington Times and the Gatestone Institute

THE MIDDLE EAST FORUM HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE HATE WATCH LIST BY THE SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER for financing a rally in London last month in support of English far-right provocateur Tommy Robinson. The MEF also bankrolled Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar’s trip to the U.K. to attend the rally for the jailed far-right activist

In response to the rally, a letter was published in The Guardian with over 50 signatories, including British parliamentarians, condemning the rally calling it a “resurgent of the racist right”

“The racist right are using Robinson to reorganize. Nazi salutes and Islamophobia were at the center of the mobilization. This is the first serious attempt since the collapse of the English Defence League (EDL) to develop a racist street movement and give it a political form”

Overall we rate the Middle East Forum Questionable due to Anti-Islamic views that have been labeled as hate by multiple organizations

  12. Safe space time for Comrade Reagan:

(CNN)President Donald Trump hits a new high on his economic approval ratings in a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS, reaching 56% of Americans saying he’s doing a good job on the economy.

The result comes on the heels of the announcement that the US economy grew at a much better rate than expected in the first quarter, and Trump’s performance on the economy becomes one of his prime selling points for next year’s general election.

Trump’s previous high mark in CNN polling on handling the economy came in March 2017 when 55% approved. Since then, he’s edged above 50% four times, but this is the first time it’s been meaningfully over the 50% line.

    • BZZZZZZ! Poor JethroBodine, grabbing anything that he erroneously thinks makes Twittler look good. Constantly whines about CNN until they have a single poll that he tries to use to prop up Mango Moron, then suddenly “Look! Shiny Objects! CNN!”

I wonder how Twittler looks compared to REAL Presidents on Day 833

      Approval Ratings:
      41.8 Trump
      49.5 Obama
      66.3 George W Bush
      57.0 Clinton
      74.7 George HW Bush

      DISapproval Ratings:
      53.1 Trump
      43.9 Obama
      25.1 George W Bush
      34.4 Clinton
      14.3 George HW Bush

Trump has NEVER had a positive approval number in comparison with Presidents over the last 30 years and is DISapproved by voters with HUGE disparity over Presidents over the last 30 years

“Direction Of The Country” for Cheetolini
      May 1
      56 Wrong/35 Right (Economist-Wrong Track +21)
      61 Wrong/39 Right (Politico-Wrong Track +22)

      Tiny Hands “Job Approval”
      May 2
      54% Disapprove, 46% Approve (The Hill/HarrisX +8 Disapprove)
      55% Disapprove, 41% Approve (Quinnipiac +14 Disapprove)

      55% Disapprove, 39% Approve (Reuters +17 Disapprove)
      53% Disapprove, 44% Approve (Economist +9 Disapprove)

Maybe you need to visit EVPL and do some remedial math skills, Jethro because that CNN poll is not as great as you are trying

Here are the Approve/Disapprove from CNN in that same poll
      38/53 Healthcare
      42/54 Immigration
      42/52 Foreign Affairs
      39/55 Race Relations

When asked overall of their Favorable/Unfavorable opinions on Trump:
      45/54 Trump Favorable/Unfavorable

Yeah, you need to run and find that “safe space” because it’s only going to get worse for you, Baghdad Bob, and the Trumpers. But you need to lay off the wacky weed when it comes to statistics and polling because you are in a world of cluelessness, Jethro

    • Polling Suggests Public Isn’t Buying Trump’s ‘Exoneration’ Claims

In late March, before Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on the Russia scandal was released, Trump took a “victory lap” telling Americans he’d been “totally exonerated” with a laughable goal for Trump and his allies to convince the public he’d been cleared before the evidence pointed in the opposite direction

There’s a fair amount of evidence to suggest that campaign did not work, at least not as well as the White House hoped

The latest Washington Post/ABC News poll found that most of the country concluded the Mueller investigation did not clear the president of wrongdoing. The same results showed a majority of Americans also determining that Trump lied about the Russia scandal

A new Quinnipiac poll pointed in the same direction. The public rejects Republican claims about the president’s innocence

American voters say 57-28 that Trump committed crimes before he became president, according to a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today. In today’s survey, 46% of voters say Trump committed crimes since he became president

Voters say 51-38 that the Mueller Report did not clear Trump of any wrongdoing. American voters also say 54-42 that Trump “attempted to derail or obstruct the investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election”

  13. When something never has nor ever will make sense to me, it always pisses me off.

Our close “ally” in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, relieved 37 heads from their bodies last week to show they have no use for the Shiite faith. And “no” for the JoeBiden and shar pies of this world who would have probably wondered, there were no survivors. And no guys, Khashoggi didn’t make it either.

A couple years ago I posted a comment on here that said Saudi Arabia was the sponsor of Wahhabism and the Salafists, both of which have cost us because of weak leadership at the top and no bid contracts, to be financially in a position to lose control of our country.

Now, Iran, the newest enemy who we spent $4 trillion dollars in Iraq so Iraq could become a province of must go. That is according to Mop Head and his boney ass son-in-law.

Now the other side of the coin; “Despite the Jews having a representative in the Iranian parliament, I really acknowledge that the Muslim population definitely has their own privilege in Iran. I don’t want to get into politics but what strikes me most about Iranian Jews is their deeply rooted patriotism for their country. From what I’ve seen, most of them are extremely proud of their Persian background and even though they could immigrate to Israel or Europe for being a minority in Iran very easily, they have chosen to stay.”

    From this article; https://www.travestyle.com/2016/04/14/synagogues-in-iran-tehran/

No Iranians on 9-11 planes. Iran was our ally in Afghanistan. Iran willing to give up nukes.

Today’s most priceless quote; Hillary Clinton – “I live rent free in Trump’s brain”

My take, forget Barr, only call “Real Americans” to testify before Congress like Mueller and McGahn. Russian sanitized people.

Now to leave it all behind, Enjoy; http://click1.e.thechive.com/vrfmjqvfpjtncdkrnkbghnypdmntmqrczczzvdpffggjjrh_tlchhjjlclklvvcmzbhww.html?a=theCHIVE+Daily&b=1213918&c=3388161

    • The last Clinton left us with peace, prosperity and surpluses “as far as the eye can see”

Your votes left us with a near depression, $4 trillion in downtown Baghdad blast walls and a trillion dollar Medicare Part D that not one friggin penny was paid for.

A hundred billion more for defense Mop Head has stuck up our rump when there is a $125 billion dollar proven waste. A Space Force I wish you would catch a ride on and get the —- out of here if you are such a believer and low&behold, let’s talk about a trillion dollar cut in Social Security and a trillion in Medicare to pay for it.

By the way shar pie, your habitual bankruptcy orange bitch you are so in love with, could care less if it’s a trillion for infrastructure, 2 trillion, 3 trillion , 14 trillion, he could care less.

Just as long as Saudi Arabia and Serial Killer Inc. (Russia) will let him make millions off their countries in return.

You’ve not boarded a Trump Train bro, you’ve mounted a lame obese orange horse that is blind to what nature has dictated it to do.

There is absolutely no hope for you to be intelligent enough to save this country. You just must be out voted or it’s all over for this 248 year old experiment.

Looking at the last election, it looks like our Nations saviors are finally getting off their ass and voting.

Stay tuned bro, if everything goes against your best wishes in 2020, then we may survive.

But it’s going to be a hard climb….
