    • There still is a segment of population that would say otherwise. He is no “Alvin York”, who’s religion convictions also was against war, but still served his country! Supreme Court decision or not, there are over 58,000
families who wish their sons/daughters had used that “religious card”!

      • Yes, there are a lot of people who don’t have the courage of their convictions, but Muhammed Ali did. Are you saying those 58,000 families all held personal convictions that the war was wrong and didn’t have the backbone to stand up for their beliefs? Or, are you just trying to smear a great American who did stood up for himself?

        • Had every military soldier thumbed their nose at this nation these past 250 years, where would we be how? The action was no better then a “draft dodger” back in that time period! Feel same way about Henry Fonda’s daughter that had visit and had pics with the Viet Cong! Just plain disrespect to the ones whom served their country

          • You seem to equate having a strong religious objection to killing other human beings with “thumbing their noses” at this nation. They are not the same. I wish more people had stood against the war in Viet Nam. Very few of them would have risked as much as Muhammed Ali did. How do you feel about the real draft dodgers, Trump, Clinton, Dubya, Jeb, etc….? What about Mitt Romney??
You really should the proper usage of “then” vs “than.”

          • I have one more question for you, PCD. What do you think of the people who refuse to serve LGBT-Q customers? Is that having the courage of their religious beliefs or is it “thumbing their noses” at the Law of the Land?

          • LKB, I see the OCD which drives your anointed thought process has dreamt that I had commented on this blog today (prior to now). If you go back and read the posts you’ll obseve that I haven’t done so.

        • Clay/Ali may have been a giant inside the ring, but outside of the ropes he was a mental midget. He graduated 376 out of 391 with an IQ of just 78.
Had he spent more time studying history and current events, as well as world politics, Clay/Ali would’ve known that the Communist NVA not only killed many of their own citizens (in addition to 56,000 Americans) they also destroyed all churches, synagogues and Islamic mosques. They also banned all religious schools including Vietnamese Islamic Madrasa’s. The same total of Americans (56,000) lost in Vietnam is coincidentally the same number of his fellow Muslims that were exiled or mysteriously vanished (or converted into Soyalent Green). I’m pretty sure Allah or his messenger Muhammad would’ve liked Clay/Ali to help save those 56k Muslims from Charlie.

          • Forgive me for confusing you with Armstrongres. Armstrong Twp. and Posey County tend to blur together in my mind. They both appear to be home to some flaming bigots. I’m totally confident that you know exactly what and who Allah/God likes.

          • Elk, Please point out where “bigotry” was in any of my post?( unless you are injecting them into my post) Notice you were grasping outside the box for your argument.
I was raised around a lot of WWII vets who was all about this country and its flag!
You need to remember that I do agree with you on a lot of issues, but there are those times we are on that opposite fence!

PCD and I do share common ground, but it pertains to construction/architect work.

        • That said, there are laws in every country and if you don’t agree with them it does not give you free reign to do what you want to do. Dodging the draft was a crime. Clay/Ali is one of the few that stood up and refused like a man and was arrested rather than running off to Canada. Paid for his crime and moved on in life. If the mayor of Louisville wants to have the flags at half mast who gives a shit. We as a country flew them at half staff for Whitney huston… what did she do (besides drugs and celebrity TV show with her junkie asswipe hubby)?

Next, I expect the Mayor of San Jose to order flags (probably Mexican) flown at half-staff to honor his anarchist supporters.

  1. Jennifer McGovern, who had been a mortgage seller, filed suit, saying she was fired before receiving $238,000 of promised compensation for a commercial real estate deal she negotiated.

McGovern, a mother of three, won a judgement in 2008 by a New York State Supreme Court judge, who ordered that she be paid $298,274. But the bill was not paid. “The company was set up in a way that we could never recover what we was owed,” she said.

In addition to McGovern’s unpaid claim, Trump Mortgage owed $3,555 in unpaid taxes, according to a Treasury Department tax lien filed in 2009.

The idea that the company would fail to pay her or others seemed unfathomable to McGovern in 2006, she said. She recalled her excitement after meeting with Trump for a pep talk at the Trump Mortgage headquarters on Wall Street. “He told us if we worked hard we would all do well,” she said.

Does any of this sound familiar?

2,300 lawsuits, I love debt, we can print money, I’m going to deport 11 million immigrants but I’m going to get Mexico to build a Wall because of the power of their remittances BUT, if I deport them, I have no power to build the WALL. Trust Me – Believe in Me – Have Faith In Me, because Me, is all that matters.

  2. It feels like Donald Trump is about to have a tough month.
We’re going into the RNC Convention in just over a month.
Not good. Wrong time to have a bad month.

    • I have a special request Joe and I hope you don’t mind honoring it.

I’m going to be out of commission on these threads for about a month because it’s my busy season.

I sell one toothed rattlesnakes to Southern Baptist preachers for a living but I’ve picked up some Primitive Northern Baptist preachers this year and I’ve found myself inundated by the free market Capitalist system.

All I ask is if tommyromo aka al sharpie stabs me in the back while I’m away, just copy his post so you can show me after I return so I can defend myself.

tommy has never did this to me before but with the extra amount of …..’s he’s been putting in his posts, and his newfound love for a Libtard this election, I feel he has crossed the point of no return and anything is possible.

I warned him years ago to take down that pokey dotted wallpaper in his yard barn man cave and quit using pokey dotted toilet paper but as usual, he just wouldn’t listen.

If you’ll do this for me Joe, I promise I’ll get Mesker rejuvenated for you with Hugo the IV’s inheritance.

Re-distribution is the going thing this year you know.

      Later….

  3. LKB continues to disparage people who do not fit her liberal agenda. George Bush was NOT a draft dodger as you portray. He was a pilot in the Air National Guard and was subject to callup at any time, as were a group of us that were in an Evansville unit of the Indiana National Guard that was activated and served in Vietnam in 1969. He served his Country and did not shirk his duty.

Just stop with your spewing of hatred for everyone but your liberal Democrat agenda of hate speech.

    • Actually, she’s not a liberal. This country was founded by some pretty great liberal thinkers. LKB doesn’t fit that model. She’s a racist left-wing socialist.. She is as damaging to this country as much a redneck, white supremist, KKK member is.

  4. It has always seemed an interesting concept if, when every war is declared, the first people called up to fight were the House and the Senate.

    • And with the Supreme Court ruling that “business” is people, when that “business” person’s number is
drawn, will there be one, or will there be thousands showing up under that one number?
