IS IT TRUE SEPTEMBER 18, 2015

IS IT TRUE that 6th Ward City Councilman Al Lindsey is also fed up with At-Large City Councilman Jonathan Weaver making insulting and demeaning remarks about him and other City Council members?  …it looks like Mayor Winnecke’s main Democratic supporter Jonathan Weaver has additional re-election challenges?

IS IT TRUE when Mayor Winnecke declined to attend  the local Veterans Council “CALL TO ASSEMBLE” event it may have caused him political problems with area Veterans groups?  …Veterans don’t like being overlooked or being rejected by public officials?

IS IT TRUE at Wednesdays night FOP PAC Committee meeting At Large City Councilman Jonathan Weaver joined Republican Dan McGinn call to increase our taxes by 25%?

IS IT TRUE we predict the FOP PAC Committee will endorse Winnecke For Mayor and At-Large candidates Jonathan Weaver,  Michelle Mercer and Dr. Dan Adams?  …we also predict that Justin Elpers-5th Ward,  Anna Hargis from the 3rd Ward and of course Missy Mosby from the 2nd Ward shall be endorsed by the FOP PAC Committee?  …we also hear that its possible that not one African  American City Council candidate  will be endorse by the FOP PAC Committee?

IS IT TRUE we are hearing that some of the EPD officers are wondering what was the $700,000 of DRUG FORFEITURE money spent on?  …this might be a campaign issue that candidates for Mayor and City Council should look into?

IS IT TRUE do you feel it’s appropriate for elected and appointed officials that award contracts to consultants, vendors or contractors who does business with the City to receive political donations or free vacation trips from them?

IS IT TRUE we have been told that that Evansville have never elected a female as Mayor in our 200 year history?

  1. When will Gail Riecken finally force Chairman Faukner to remove Weaver from the local Democrat party?

    • You really do not want to go there Bob. When it comes to bribes and quid pro quo no one comes near the Arkansas democrats who stormed Washington in 1993 without a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out of, and left millionaires.

Replacing all the federal prosecutors with his own people is probably the only thing that kept his sorry butt out of prison. He was disgraced, and impeached, but his buddies in the media mounted a campaign to keep him from being removed from office, and the message that sent to the country has had an extremely negative impact on our culture since that vote.

      • The Clinton family’s mega-charity took in more than $140 million in grants and pledges in 2013 but spent just $9 million on direct aid.

  2. No one should ever be elected to any office based on gender. Qualifications, intelligence, experience, character, loyalty and dedication are some of the things to be considered for office. Gender is completely irrelevant. Evansville’s never had a female mayor? So what?

  3. Some day, Evansville will have a qualified female or gender neutral candidate for mayor.

  4. Is it true that you had to be told that Evansville has never had a female mayor? If so, then are you really the person that should be the self-appointed “Community Watchdog” when 95% of the residents of Evansville know that to be true?

  5. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t Anna Hargis be considered a “person of colo”? However, in the bigger picture, why does it matter? Stop putting skin color and gender into everything.

    • That ‘person of colo’ is about a bead short in the abacus. She is littering the eastside with her Winnecke-mimicking signage that will serve as substitute fire hydrants for our canine friends long after her candidacy is forgotten. That well funded campaign cannot take the place of substance. Her signs are thick, her résumé paper thin.

Since your brought it up Phoenix, what colo is she anyway? Whatever colo she is, she’s hitched herself to a failed mayor.

      • Only an idiot with nothing of substance to say would grab on to a typo and make a big deal out of it.

      • it is without a doubt Mr.Davis has more intelligence in his right foot than little phony bandana has in its entire soulless useless deadbeat body…………………………just sayin……………

    • No. People of color cannot be people of color if they are Republicans. They are really white people of apparent color who betray the people of color who are 1) truly colorful and 2) Democrats.

Please study Bandana’s response carefully so that you understand that racism can and must be directed by progressives against people of apparent color who run as Republicans or agree with conservative positions. His intolerance and racism directed against people of apparent color should be an inspiration to all loyal progressive Democrats.

If we had a newspaper in this town you would know by now what the $700,000. was spent on.

Here is an organization worthy of your consideration. It is high time they added Indiana to their map.

  7. IS IT TRUE we have been told that that Evansville have never elected a female as Mayor in our 200 year history?

Statements like this one will always keep us a divided society. If we don’t start recognizing a person based on their integrity and character (not their gender, race, sexual orientation, or religion), our society will always be “separate but equal”. That only benefits hucksters like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson.

Again, I posted weeks ago, with regards to the above CCO statement: We have never elected a dog as Mayor in our 200 year history. It would be of historical significance for Evansville, and we would have the benefit of an honest Mayor, because dogs don’t tell lies.

  8. It has been alleged, repeatedly, on this site that Jonathan Weaver is a wifebeater.

If it is true that Weaver has beaten his wife or wives, and the FOP PAC endorses him without vetting his background . . . .does that mean the FOP endorses spousal abuse ?

    • There needs to be more reporting on this issue of Weaver. At the end of the day, we either vote based on our personal best interest, or on the perceived character of the candidate. I believe Weaver has extreme personal best interest (his own money) and not an ounce of character.

  9. “…we also hear that its possible that not one African American City Council candidate will be endorse by the FOP PAC Committee?”

I can’t for the life of me see what this has to do with anything, unless it is the goal of The Editor to tacitly accuse the members of the FOP PAC of being racists. Is that what you’re going for, my friend? If so, I’m disappointed. If you think it’s racist for a group to not endorse any non-whites, just say that. That seems in and of itself to be a racist mindset, but I’m just a stoopid white dood, so what do I know…

  10. On an unrelated not I figured I would bring back to light new development that was a favorite whipping topic a couple years ago on here. WOW Evansville’s new softball complex just landed a fast pitch softball World Series! 5000 hotel rooms already reserved almost 10,000 people to be here spending money in Evansville. But those softball fields are a dumb idea if I remember. 3 tournaments and they just paid for themselves already. I guess the complaint will be now just too many people in town and triffic is terrible and you can’t get into your fav resteraunt cause of all thes people. I personally would challenge Martha Crosley and The other nay Sayers from years past to attend this tournament and admit it is good for the community now. Peace out! Yao!

    • Yo, Yao: please “show your work” that 3 tournaments and the fields “paid for themselves”.

      I’m waiting . . . .
