IS IT TRUE Part 2 “who appointed Jay Carter to the ERC?”

Snegal: Sneaky but Legal

The recently convicted Jay Carter was first appointed to the ERC in January 2011 by the Evansville City Council during the last year of the Weinzapfel Administration.

The Evansville Redevelopment Commission,  a five-member board with appointees by both the mayor’s office and City Council has been at the center of controversies such as the continuing saga of the choice of a developer for a downtown convention hotel, the McCurdy parking lot debacle, and other local high dollar public works projects like the Ford Center. The ERC deals with planning and construction within the city’s redevelopment area including Downtown Evansville and the Front Door Pride area.

There are no formal requirements for knowledge of either construction or finance required for being appointed to the ERC.  All you have to be is committed to be a rubber stamp to whom appoint you to this board.

  1. “Defund” the ERC and apply that money to the city budget! Put the city council back into control of “all” tax money. This should apply to all TIF money as well, For TIF money is tax collected but skimmed before it reach the “general” city coffers. Too many individual “appointed” hands (Nero’s) while the city burns!

  2. The ERC has been so generous with public money that you’d think IT was involved in a “money laundering” scheme. It really needs reining in or defunding.

  3. I had always wondered how he was appointed. His day job was an IT analyst at Springleaf.

  4. “WE ARE EVV”

Drunks, crooks, those who cook books
liars, thieves, those who bribe these
    Addicted, afflicted, morally conflicted
    Might as well face it
    “WE ARE EVV”

  5. The trial was a joke. His attorney sucked and did nothing but let the government bash a great guy.
If you actually knew Jay you would know he is a good man and was railroaded. Most likely because he is brown.

He teaches Dave Ramsey Financial Peace courses at church.

Deacon and was trustee at church.
Great Father to 2 great and respectful kids.
His Daughter is heading off to med school next year to be an OBGYN.
His father who is 85 stays with his family and is very well cared for.

Jay has done a lot for the community and for a lot of people asking nothing in return.

Stand up for a good man and a great family.

You could just as easily be next !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
