IS IT TRUE May 3, 2012

IS IT TRUE the Evansville City Attorney has stated that the bonds will be sold to fund the $4.8 Million loan to Earthcare Energy by the middle of next week?…that just as the situation at the Riverhouse has run into some real problems due to having undisclosed material information come to the table after the initial loan approval, the Earthcare Energy deal has had new material information discovered or disclosed after the 5 – 4 vote to approve the $4.8 Million loan was approved?…that when material information changes occur, the lending institution whether it is a bank or the Evansville City Council needs to take a step back and digest that information?…that one member of the Evansville City Council whose name is Councilman Jonathan Weaver is on record as saying that “We had to take the best information we were provided at that time, and we now have new (other) issues to tackle.”?…that this is one of the most misinformed and ignorant statements possible?…that when material information is made available after the fact that was either withheld or undiscovered that any prudent person or lending institution would reconsider a decision based on the new information?

IS IT TRUE that the normally rational and intelligent voice of the Evansville City Council, Dr. H. Dan Adams is quoted as saying that “with my limited resources of vetting, I have found no smoking gun.”?…that one must ask, are arrests a smoking gun, are bankruptcies a smoking gun, are untested products a smoking gun, are tax liens smoking guns, and are patents claimed that do not exist smoking guns?…that if those five things are not “smoking guns” then there must be a blind spot when it comes to smoking guns?…that the real problem lies with the “limited resources of vetting”?…that this deal has been turned down by 6 or 7 banks according to GAGE president Debbie Dewey, has attracted exactly ZERO private investors, and has not sold a single unit in spite of the fact that there are multiple distributors authorized to make sell these products?

IS IT TRUE that it is time for the other two members of the Evansville City Council namely Dan McGinn and John Friend to come forward and let us all know why they were not in favor of this deal?…that both of these gentlemen Councilmen have been candid in private about what they think about this deal but that it is now their duty to make that known before a check is issued?…that there was a rush to vote and now there is a rush to fund prior to the City Council meeting of May 14, 2012?…that no patent exists, no contracts have been shown, no test results have been published, and no track records of the principals have been verified?…that the people of Evansville who are disgusted with this foolishnes sneed to pick up the phone and call their City Council members and let them know that this is not good public policy and that it is not acceptable?

IS IT TRUE that if the people of Evansville fail themselves on this deal that they deserve what they get today, tomorrow, and into the future?…that finally there is no Power Purchase Agreement in place with Vectren at the present time and that Earthcare does not even have the ability today to try to capture the energy that they claim makes the Langson device valuable?…that Vectren has nothing to lose by signing this agreement that will allow them to triple their money on power if and we do mean if it works except their self respect if this turns out like the other dozen businesses that this management team has presided over?…that Vectren which is usually a prudent business will suffer much embarrassment along with their shareholders if this deal does not deliver as advertised?

    • “that one member of the Evansville City Council whose name is Councilman Jonathan Weaver is on record as saying that “We had to take the best information we were provided at that time, and we now have new (other) issues to tackle.”?”

      ——–

Two thing come to mind about this statement….

Pride goeth before a fall: definition. People who are overconfident or too arrogant are likely to fail.

      or the more popular……

      Stupid is as stupid does

      • I wonder if that fool Weaver would feel that way about a house closing after mold was discovered by the inspector? Of all professions that should understand discovery and vetting of loans you would think that a realtor would get it.

Weaver and Missy have excuses because they are simple idiots. Robinson is as conflicted as she can be. O’Daniel drank the Kool-Aid and bent over when threatened. Adams is still a mystery. He is a smart man under the spell of a snake charmer.

        • Dan’s problem on this issue is simple: he’s a doctor.

Doctors tend to be TERRIBLE businesspeople.

          • I think Dan Adams has drank a little of the liberal kool-aid, it would seem that to a liberal results do not matter, but just the mere fact that they tried to accomplish something is the most important aspect, failure isn’t part of that mix nor does it matter which is why you have deals like Solyndra, they can always say WE TRIED! (which is what our council will say after the dust settles and the $5m is long gone)

          • Wait a tic Blanger…I am a devout Liberal (not to be confused with an Evansville Democrat), and there is no way in Hades I support this deal. I have no vetting experience, except for watching a few episodes of the “Shark Tank,” (who I think would laugh Langson Energy out of the studio), and even I know this smells bad.

          • I meant no harm, slander, or transgression to any liberal by my statement, sorry if I offended anyone. When it comes to spending our tax dollars frivolously neither conservatives or liberals have a total concession on it, both are equally guilty it’s just that the liberal mind is normally more forgiving for under performance.

    • The organ grinder is turning the crank and the monkeys are beginning to dance. This is as staged as it gets. The only question is who believes in the organ grinder?

    • I need about 4 million now for start-up, I’m gonna need a lot of workers. Re-opening the Wabash-Erie canal, will bring new life to the down town. If he’s willing to profit share 34 million for a 5 mil. loan why not hit up Old National? Thats a pretty good return.

  1. There seems to be a difference of opinion between City Councilman Dan Adams and City Councilwoman Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley about background information on the Principal officers involved in EarthCare Energy LLC and the importance of that information when it comes to making an intelligent determination on whether the City of Evansville should be doing business with EarthCare.

It seems that, by having done the necessary research that President Dewey failed to do, councilwoman Riley employes a more professional approach to her council job than Debbie Dewey does to her job as president of GAGE.

The information that has recently come to light has been available to anyone who cared to look. I will venture to say that a simple lexisnexis background check would have provided enough information to give any reasonable person pause where the use of taxpayer funds are involved.

Perhaps Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley sees the statutory lengths that governments go to in order to protect taxpayer funds and finds it unprofessional not to apply the same safeguards to these taxpayer funds.

It is incumbent upon Councilwoman Riley to inform her constituents of what she has discovered. If that information causes doubt as to the soundness of continuing down this path with EarthCare, then a motion to rescind the previous vote should be put forward.

    __

    • In my estimation, Councilwoman Brinkerhoff-Riley, if she is opposed to this EarthCare deal and intends to speak on what she has found and call for a motion to rescind the previous vote, she should make this known to her constituents as soon as possible so that those city residents who feel as she does can be in attendance there and speak their mind during the discussion period.

  2. Here’s the problem folks: the crooks and morons know that you can’t beat them. They can do whatever they want, whenever they want, to whomever they want…and never suffer any consequences.

If Evansville is willing to stack the council with the usual cronies and elect a Weinzapfel clone as mayor, then perhaps it is time to consider the possiblity that the city is in the terminal stages of stupidity.

Didn’t Jesus say that there is such a thing as “invincible ignorance,” and that when confronted with it, all you can do is “shake the dust off your sandals and walk away?”

At this point, these people could probably hold the next ma

    • “invincible ignorance” is one of the best pairing of words I have seen in a while and it perfectly describes the subject of the day.

  3. IS IT TRUE that 3rd Ward City Councilwoman Stephanie Brinkenhoff-Riley has more political b—a then the men she serves with? Yes it True!

IS IT TRUE that Vanderburgh County Commissioner Marsha Abell at one time like Stephanie? Yes it”s true!

  4. Why would someone listen to Councilpersons Mosby and her political side kick Weaver about business matters. Either one can’t land a good paying job because they are both stupid!

  5. I bet Weaver’s ex-wife made similar remarks about him during his recent divorice hearing!

  6. Interesting. Weaver just went through a messey divorce recently.
Why wasn’t repoted in the local media?

  7. If you can’t take care of your private life how can we expect you to do right in your public life?

    • Because what goes on in private is just that – Private. What we should expect from them in public is a different story; judge them for how they do their jobs, not how they manage their PERSONAL relationships.

  8. Does anyone remember the Hans Christian Anderson story…The Emperor’s New Clothes…Take from Wikepedia “A vain Emperor who cares for nothing but his appearance and attire hires two tailors who are really swindlers that promise him the finest, best suit of clothes from a fabric invisible to anyone who is unfit for his position or “just hopelessly stupid”. The Emperor cannot see the cloth himself, but pretends that he can for fear of appearing unfit for his position; his ministers do the same. When the swindlers report that the suit is finished, they mime dressing him and the Emperor then marches in procession before his subjects, who play along with the pretense. Suddenly, a child in the crowd, too young to understand the desirability of keeping up the pretense, blurts out that the Emperor is wearing nothing at all and the cry is taken up by others. The Emperor cringes, suspecting the assertion is true, but holds himself up proudly and continues the procession. After this experience, the Emperor vows never to be so vain again and take his position more seriously.”

    Sound familiar?? 🙂

  9. Editor:

In honor of Green Energy and the cautionary warning that this loan might be a scam, might you post the tune ‘Green Earrings’ from Steely Dan’s ‘Royal Scam’ album ?

  10. FORGET WEAVER, HE IS AN IDIOT!

JUST HEARD FROM A FRIEND A WHILE AGO THAT DAN McGINN AND STEPHANIE BRINKERHOFF RILEY MET WITH THE MAYOR, DEBBIE DEWEY, CITY ATTORNEY AND RUSS LLOYD,JR.(CITY CONTROLLER) LAST WEEK AND SHOWED THEM DAMAGING INFORMATION CONCERNING THE MANAGEMENT TEAM OF EARTHCARE. THE ATTITUDE OF THE ABOVE CITY OFFICIALS WERE THEY SEE NO SMOKING GUNS THAT CAUSE CITY TO WITHDRAW FROM $4.8 DOLLAR LOAN OFFERED TO EARTHCARE.

IT’S MY FRIEND OPINION THAT THE MAYOR, DEBBIE DEWEY, CITY ATTORNEY AND RUSS LLOYD, JR. SHALL SOON REGRET THAT THEY HEED THE WARNING FROM RILEY AND McGINN.
